QUOTE
Samir Nasri is aiming to return from injury in time for the final stretch of City’s title challenge after admitting he’s currently ahead of schedule.

Though he will be following the carefully planned programme set out by the medical team, he has targeted the March international break to back in full training with the squad – and if he achieves his goal, he could be available for the last six weeks of campaign.

Pellegrini: "I'm optimistic he won't be out for the rest of the season. It's not the cruciate ligament, it's the medial, we think."

Pellegrini: "Kevin has been a very important player all season. He didn't start this game as we have 9 games between now and next month."

Worst case scenario for medial ligament damage, grade III: 8-12 weeks. Grade II 6 weeks.

City hope that Kevin De Bruyne has escaped a serious injury to his knee and are confident he suffered only minor damage.

CABALLERO
Important save from Deulofeu in a one-on-one – and anyone blaming him for Barkley's goal has strange ideas about human capability! 6

ZABALETA
Perfect game for his warrior mentality, with tackles flying in, and the need for substance as well as style – nothing flash, just solid. 7

OTAMENDI
Some rash lunges and dodgy passes, but also some superbly-timed tackles – sometimes he reeks of desperation, covering for Demichelis 6

DEMICHELIS
Sprinted past by Deulofeu and muscled by Lukaku, but yet again he pulled it around and played a full part in an improvd defensive display after the break 6

CLICHY
His tendency to attempt interceptions almost cost him a couple of times, but his liveliness over the deck was important against a dangerous Everton attack 6

TOURE
Freed of any defensive responsibility, he offered City plenty going forward in the first half – he was behind their control of the game - but his influence faded after the break 6

FERNANDINHO
From first whistle to last, he was driving City on, and with no little quality. No surprise that he was the man popping up on the edge of the box to thrash in the equaliser. 9

DELPH
Some good running, but at times that little bit of required quality was lacking – still, unlucky to get the hook at half time. 6

SILVA
He is still not back at his brilliant best, but his effort and commitment were top-class – and he nearly scored with a header! 7

STERLING
Looked pretty awful for a long spell, but then he came alive at just the right time, as good wingers do. Got the luck with the ball out, but the cross was excellent! 7

AGUERO
More heroics from the main man. The header was top-class at the pivotal moment in the match – and his shot against the post desrved better! 8

Substitutes
NAVAS: (for Delph ht) Livened up right flank 7

DE BRUYNE: (for Toure 66) Brilliant contribution 8

FERNANDO: (for Silva 79) Dug in well 6

Not used: Hart, Sagna, Angelino, Iheanacho

QUOTE
Kevin De Bruyne will miss the Capital One Cup final next month after being ruled out for 10 weeks with ligament damage.
Manchester City’s £54million summer signing tweeted the news after seeing a specialist in London.
De Bruyne came off the bench on Wednesday to inspire City to victory in their semi-final against Everton.
But the Belgium midfielder injured his right knee and ankle in a challenge with Ramiro Funes Mori.
