hi; stumbled upon this forum by accident - have a few questions to ask (although they have probably been repeated constantly over this forum - so pls forgive me for that). Recently came back to Msia (sabah) after 6 years abroad and started suffering from mild to moderate acne about 4 months ago. It has subsided although I still have the occasional acne here and there along with the scars which is annoying the hell out of me.

Just recently used Eucerin Mild Daily Scrub and found that after a week, I broke out quite badly. Since then, I have switched to the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Wash, Toner and Essence. Are these products beneficial and does the Vitamin A and Salicylic Acid help in healing the scars?

Are there are good acne scars treatment available apart from Elicina? I have tried MEderma which does squat; and have recently purchased Condolisa Scar Gel and was told that it works well. A friend told me to try Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream which contains Vitamins C, E and Alpha Hydroxy Acid. I am at a loss at which to use as I was considering using Cetaphil along with any recommended scar treatment.

Thank you for your time in answering~

jinyee, read ur earlier posts - very informative. Just wondering whether you have found any substitutes for the NOTS seeing as how they have stopped circulating them. Does weather play a major role in one suffering from acne?

hi again - been diligently using the recommended steps and products for 3 months now and needless to say everything has cleared up save for the odd spot or two..the scars and uneven skin tones are still present though fading and i was wondering what product that is already available on the malaysian market can i use to lessen the scars now?

my gf bought me biotherm homme anti-rides line peel for men as it was advertised as having successful results in decreasing/lightening men's acne scars..it contains natural active ingredients - silicium, moisturising agents, pure extract of thermal plankton and some agents which promote the skin's natural peeling process..was wondering whether this was any good seeing as how you recommended a prior product which promotes the skin's natural healing process..thanks jinyee - ur an ace in my book~

hi jinyee,

i have been diligently using the regime u have recommended for close to 3 months now and my skin does feel and look much better!

The problem now being there are some minor scars which are taking quite a long time to heal - so much so that my gf bought me a product from biotherm homme called anti-rides line peel which promotes natural healing of the skin particularly on wrinkles and acne scars. It uses silicium, moisurising agents, thermal plankton ( main 5 ingredients: aqua/water, dimethicone, alcohol enat, glycerin, octylodecanol ). Is this product safe to be used? She is also thinking of buying a home microdermabrasion kit being sold in guardian - i will post the name and the ingredients after work once i have checked out its contents. Thanks again for all ur help, jinyee~

hi jinyee, just a simple question for a mate - he doesn't enjoy using the cetaphil cleanser as he says it does not leave his skin feeling clean and he found this other cleanser from J & J - Acne Clearing Wash containing benzoyl peroxide 5 % and is highly recommended over here in NZ. Would this be advisable? He has sensitive skin. As for me, I have been using the regime you've recommended and after 4 months, am thoroughly pleased still. Cheers
