Used to have one , bought for 340. Use for 2 year then give it to my sister. Performance is good if you like bass. Had another ADA 305, now still using it after changing many PC. The older generation of altec Lansing speaker is still better.

treble is maxed out all the time...
i set my bass at half only...already everything in my room start shaking...mum complain alot...
but sometimes i increase to 75%...during weekends smile.gif
beyond 75%, the bass no longer sound natural...

inb4...i use the basic office table with long penghadang at the back
i place the woofer against the back wall, allowing the bass to move between the penghadang space and wall...
outcome is explosive...
u will not get this effect if just place under normal table...

down firing bass works that way lor...u will not get exact response of the bass like normal woofer...
the midrange and twitter is the 1 giving clarity to the bass...which sits on top of the table... which is why is set to max...
so i hear the bass fired from front but it rattles whole room.... wub.gif wub.gif drool.gif

u can try holding the subwoofer with nice bass song and u will understand what i mean...
u wont even feet it hitting you, but place it downwards under table where it can reflect all the bass back and boom...

how much was the damage? considering, 17 years ago.. compare with today's inflation and whatnot... sure cost really alot back then. hmm.gif

if not mistaken, vs4121 is just atp3's cousin. kinda the same stuff(with quite the same sound output) only with different design.. just read from some random comment on internet. i had vs4121 too for use in office back then. yeah, i can say i was satisfied with it as much as with atp3. laugh.gif

My biggest regret till this day was not being able to afford an ATP3 as a student.. Instead I bought Labtec Pulse 350 which cost below RM200 some 12 years ago... And it's still kicking...

But I still wish to own an ATP3... sad.gif

down firing bass works that way lor...u will not get exact response of the bass like normal woofer...
the midrange and twitter is the 1 giving clarity to the bass...which sits on top of the table... which is why is set to max...
so i hear the bass fired from front but it rattles whole room.... wub.gif  wub.gif  drool.gif

u can try holding the subwoofer with nice bass song and u will understand what i mean...
u wont even feet it hitting you, but place it downwards under table where it can reflect all the bass back and boom...
*
there are two kind of subwoofer and two type

front face solid type or down face soft type...usually is categorize like this

the pair of tower speaker bottom also have a woofer to handle higher frequency bass.

the sound isolation or you can call your room isnt compact enough...thats why when the bass is heavy it rattles the whole room smile.gif ...which by then acoustic sound absorbing foam comes into help.

previously my rojak HT setup room doesnt have any of the acoustic foam stick to the wall...and i get all the rattles when bass comes in

after spending a few thousand rupiah whistling.gif ....the rattles gone

also....usually down firing subwoofer is good for music only

I'm still using my ATP3 bought in 2003. Still good and its sound is still the same like its first day.

I always set my treble at 70% and bass at 55% while my equalizer [from winamp] is set at vocal but customized a bit at its bass preset.

It's certainly loud and thumpy enough for gaming. When it was new the treble and midrange was clear enough for music, but it's since developed a slight but annoying crackle.

I bought the AC54 instead of ATP3 for surround sound gaming when Sound Blaster EAX was still a thing.

One day I tripped a wire of one of the surround speaker and broke it. The electronics eventually died after 4 years of use.
