On the issue of the collapsible steering column, P2 does show it on their Myvi brochure, that's why ppl think Myvi is safer than Gaga. I didn't even knew this feature existed on Proton cars before you posted it just now.

And if a normal customer go to both P1 and P2 showroom and compare the brochures for gaga and Myvi, he/she won't want to buy a Gaga. That's why I say P1 marketing fails like nobody else.

part of the blame can be put on marketing team, but not entirely.

when u said that,i think i shud convey this to my source cuz i didnt know people dun know bout it. its part of standard homogolation rules on steering component. maybe he can do sumthing bout it.
*
Oh I just re-read my previous post. The second paragraph does not refer to the collapsible steering column specifically, but how the brochures are designed.

The Gaga brochure only cares about showing specs, while the Myvi brochure showcases the important features....the HU, airbags, timing chain, ABS with brake assist... etc. etc..WITH PICTURES AND DIAGRAMS!!!

When I first bought my FLX SE, all I got was a flyer with a picture of the car in front and the specs on the back, it's not even a brochure. Even the Viva has a better brochure doh.gif

It's like P2 is trying to sell you a proper car, while P1 is trying to sell you a truck with the only promise that it will move.

Actually how many pages of the brochure don't matter. Because most ppl just look at the images and glance through the brochure. I had a period training as a showroom guy and 8 out of 10 will still ask you the question which is already in the brochure.

You try ask how many after buy a new car would go and read the whole owners manual...

Majority ppl are just too lazy to read..
*
memang dun matter how many pages.... But when one is paper flyer the other is a proper brochure.....you get the idea la.

I know EPS being standard is inevitable and I can accept it. I just hope that it's decent in accuracy, weight and feel. A car with a horrible steering is horrible to drive, period. Anyway here's a good article about the Porkshare's "bottom up" EPS system.
*
I guess it's a good thing that, according the mat79, the GSC's EPS is from ZF tongue.gif

Frankly, the 9/10 given a choice, no one would buy proton.

*
If you're being pragmatic, dun care apa-apa cerita kroni ke handouts ke, Proton is still cheap to buy and cheap to run....as a bonus they are also safe (The Preve and Suprima la).

Having owned an affordable ford, driven several Perodua cars extensively as well as a Toyota Vios P42, I have no problem buying another Proton.

This is not because Protons are good, but because it makes financial sense.

i think it kinda depends on how you define choice; Because if i get to choose, without any regards of criteria, i'd kinda want a GTR, or something more "realistic"/reachable, a shiberu.

but of course neither cars make financial sense at all to me.
and when you throw in a buncha criterias, your choices further narrows down to well, nothing.
*
If you are looking at a GTR or a shiberu, Proton won't even cross your mind.

When we are talking about choices of car where Proton is in the list, it should give you an idea what kind of car or price range we are interested in.

Otherwise, the sky's the limit, eg. If given a choice, I'd like to fly a space shuttle instead of driving a Proton.

the premium spec gsc currently will have 6airbags,esc,front parking sensor. the pass airbags indicator wont be at the same row as others button(lesson learnt from preve).

the overal meter panel is back to moto cycle facia,n its smart info display is kinda better than preve. but as usual, fuel indicator in digital.

the ac dial is now diff, but no auto climate for the time being as to reduce the cost. but touch screen is dedicated for premium. as far as plan, all around leather wrapping is expected, one of the option is nappa, but not to put too much expectation on the later (nappa :-)) coz its cost associate.

thats is what im being told by my sos kicap :-). but i think mr dares will feel familiar with the design of meter cluster :-)

I bought my proton saga flx in april 2013. I guess i no need do anything to it.. Right? blush.gif

There is one incidence, that i unable to start my car, the car goes "wee keek keeek..." Sound only, after several attempts and few minutes, the car managed to start. Lol, may i know why this happen? I am afraid this happen again..

By the way, how much air do you all pump for car tyres? I understand there is a recommended tyres pressure stick at the back door. But i pump slightly higher for front and rear tyres at 230kpi. However, My both front tyres still looks saggy at 230kpi. Is that normal? Or because of the heavy weight of the engine?  unsure.gif
I pump my tyres 2-3 weeks once.

P/s: i'm a female driver  laugh.gif
*
read my siggy regarding the starting issue.

Front tires will always look underinflated compared to rear tires due to engine weight. Just make sure the pressure is correct then OK dy.

Today sent my car to a nearby car wash and wax (the cheap kind, RM40 wash+wax kinda deal). Those buggers didn't even thoroughly wipe the wax residue off my car vmad.gif

I miss Merz sad.gif

For whatever that was said about ah hock recently, you can't say he is not thorough when it comes to his work at Merz.
