Computer rebate is every 3 years. How does they calculate the every 3 years?

Let say, if I bought laptop in 2012, next purchase should be in 2014 or 2015? rclxub.gif
*
If every 1 year, it will be 2012, then 2013, then 2014.
If every 2 years, it will be 2012, then 2014, then 2016.
If every 3 years, it will be 2012, then 2015, then 2018.

So, you can claim rebate again when you purchase pc in 2015 (You do the e-filing in 2016).

sorry for confusion, is monthly.

i know i need to declare tax, but earlier this year i go to lhdn office to ask for my income less then rm2500 need to declare or not . he say no need.

for this year my income will be above rm2500 p.m. or rm30667 p.a., so i a bit curious for next year income tax do i need to pay or not.
i refer this link say the rate is 0%

http://www.hasil.gov.my/goindex.php?kump=5...it=5000&sequ=11

After adding up bonus, you probably need to pay tax. Even if there's no bonus, you must make sure you don't need to pay tax. You need to calculate yourself and see whether you tax is 0 or more. if it is RM0, you can choose whether to submit or just ignore it...

The best way to calculate is by filing in the real tax form, which is to fill up the e-filing form. If it comes out to be RM0, it's better if you just continue and click the submit button..

by 1/3/2015, you'll be able to access the e-filing for 2014 return..

Does anyone knows, usually what time can we start login into the sytems to do the e-filing? Is the e-filing will be ready by 12.01am on 1st march, or do i have to wait until 8am or something?

You may try your luck, but once get caught, you have to pay it back only.
Then for the next 2-4 years, you need to visit their office with all hard copy receipts. Worst case, they will dig past 7 years also.
*
It is not just paying back only, there's also a 'denda' will be imposed, for not giving right information...

This is based on my experience.. The lhdn recalculate my tax and they asked me to pay more. In addition to that, they also asked me to pay the 'denda'... So, I had to pay more. (The truth is, they recalculate wrongly, and I wrote to them back about it but they never reply, and I'm also lazy to follow up.. I just let it be for now).

Actually, it is simple.. see below.

(p/s But the problem for me, the voucher number is always longer that the maximum amount of characters allowed in the efiling tax column..)

Did you guys notice the online filling for income tax is still using 2014 tax rate?
I thought they reduced the rate which they announced in the budget for 2015?

On the First 20,000 = 5% instead of 6%?
Why am I see 6% in my online filling?

Anyone can clarify??

fresh grad first time file tax..
*
your thought is wrong.. the reduced rate is for assessment year of 2015, which you will file it on next year, 2016.

Edit: Found it. I can sleep tonight. What is annoying is how they don't have an English version
The first thing I noticed when doing the filing was language selection button on the top, right of the screen.

I got a one time off project (around 20k). I still a student. do I need to fill income tax? As a part time job I dont have epf all those and no EA form
*
those with monthly salary of rm4k++ must start filing the incometax. (~rm4k x 12month = RM48k per year).
(reference : http://e-cukai.com/2015-lhdn-income-tax-rate/# ).

Since your income in just around 20K... still not reaching 48k within that year, then, you don't need to file the income tax.

If my annual income for 2014 is less than 36k, I technically do not need to file for income tax this year? Can I still claim for tax exemption (books, EPF, etc) if my income didn't exceed 36k per annum?

I've filed previous years when income exceeds 36k.
*
The purpose of filing tax exemption is to reduce the income tax amount.
If you don't need to pay income tax (your income tax is RM0), what's the point of of filing tax exemption? There's no tax to be exempted/reduced in the first place.

(Do you want to make your income tax becomes negative so government pay you money instead? biggrin.gif )

How Much Do I Have To Earn Before Filing Income Tax?
For most residents of Malaysia, the key figure to take note of is about "RM30,672 per year (about RM2,556 per month after EPF deductions)" which is inclusive of all benefits, allowances, bonuses, overtime and commissions. If you're earning anywhere below that figure, then there's no need for you to open up a file for tax to be deducted from your income (while the con is that you're probably not earning as much as you'd like, the pro is that there's less hassle from a tax perspective!).

I think, statement below is more updated

QUOTE
Under Budget 2015, tax payers with family and income of RM4,000 per month will not have tax liability.  Individual income taxes will be restructured whereby the chargeable income subject to the maximum rate will be increased from above RM100,000 to RM400,000.

Your link is for YA2015, & mine is YA2014. Yes, RM4,000 is correct for YA2015 but not for YA2014 which is RM30,672!

savemoney.my used "malaysia-income-tax-guide-2015" for YA2014, not YA2015. Click my link first before commenting. TQ

I didn't deny or comment about your link.. I've read your link and the first line of the page already mention it's for year 2014, which you never mention in your post.

Since the 'rate' already change, I guess it is better I put extra information about the current 'rate' (min monthly income), so that any newcomers who start working this year can have some pictures whether he/she needs to file income tax next year or not.

Hi,

Anyone can confirm if Dividend from stock market (REITS/POWER) can be claimed on my personal income tax?

If yes, is there any guide to fill in the details as i dont have my payment voucher.
Only email stating that they credited x amount into my bank.

Also the dividend % during that period.

Appreciate all your help.

hi guys, not asking your personal information

But who is having a salary earning (I mean not business earning) about RM6,000 a month?

Can share how much did you need to pay tax for a salary earner of RM6,000?
*****

let me calculate for you

per year, 6k x 12 = RM72k.

after deducting self relief & epf (6k max), you income tax is RM4180.

Then, it should be lesser a bit after you deduct kids relief, book, sspn, pcb, medical insurans, sports equipment..
