QUOTE(vincentng89 @ Jun 11 2014, 11:24 PM) i would like ask about my salary per month is RM2360 but recently my boss paid me RM980@ 3 months extra bonus. should i apply income tax? if apply, how much the interest and how much should i pay? Apply income tax? You mean register? Whatever it is, for 2014 earnings you only need to report 2015. Btw, RM980 isn't 3 months bonus, typo?

QUOTE(wan7075 @ Jun 12 2014, 12:30 PM) he mean he get rm980x3 not bad... I think company will help to prepare EA form and they will include bonus inside Bonus is counted by monthly salary ah. If I getting RM 2.3k salary and my boss tell me "oh, give you 3 months bonus" I expect 6.9k, not RM980x3 =) Unless his contractual bonus already 1 month, so additional 3 months bonus will become RM9.2k....

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 13 2014, 02:49 PM) The YA2015 table only benefits the RICH by making them pay less taxes... You mean the rich who are still earning =) those who no longer earning but rich no benefit. Benefit those who earning more.

QUOTE(LaoFuZi @ Nov 29 2014, 10:46 AM) Hi all Have some questions about PCB tax on salary. I just join new company this month with salary RM3800. and new company ask me fill in a Income Tax form for previous job earning and deduction for this year that they want it to auto run some figure for PCB deduction. I got my this first month salary. By right, RM3800 minus Epf and socso will get the net salary taxable which by PCB. My first month salary is not taxable though which i dunno why as my salary slip did not show it. and im single with no children. anyone from HR or have idea why is not taxable follow PCB deduct ? Or is it i'm new that's why im not deducted PCB ths month ? And when HR asked for previous job earning and kwsp, and PCB total deduction from Jan 2014 to the day I resigned from previous job to submit to IRB isfor what purpose ? is related to my PCB adjustment ? got such thing? When I ask HR about this, they say it will deduct next month as it is by accumulation and auto generate... dunno what this mean. btw I also oredi submitted my Income tax file no. to my HR. Probably their calculation is for your total 2014 earnings, and your previous 10 months pay + 2 months at this company they calculate as no additional tax need to be paid against the amount you already paid with previous job. But if you don't have specific numbers no idea. Anyway cannot run away, when you file if there's not enough paid still have to pay then. In fact better not to pay first (if you are disciplined spender) so as not to give government free loan.

QUOTE(mo66 @ Dec 11 2014, 06:29 PM) Hi every one... Need to clarify something. If we sell property after own it more than 5 years ... it is not taxed. At the same time, should we declare that in our income tax as part of our income that year? Thanks. You want to declare the proceeds from selling the property as income? It's not, but of course if you want the declare the government will be very happy to take that 26% from you =)

QUOTE(Dino168 @ Dec 24 2014, 05:05 PM) I was reading on ways to reduce Malaysia Income Tax for Individual, and came across ... Giving a donation to a recognized charity can turn into tax savings because you can qualify for up to 7% of your taxable income in tax rebates! ... Any one did this before? How does this work to my advantage? E.g. Chargable income RM100K, tax rate is 26%, tax need to pay is RM13.85K. If pay 7% of 100K i.e. RM7K, will drop tax rate to 24%; and tax need to pay is RM12.17K, but add back donated RM7K, rugi ... RM5.32K. What did I miss???? It's 'save money' because you pay government less, not because you give away less money. Charity is charity ma, if you want to get back more than you give not charity di. Of course, zakat is a different thing if you 'qualify' to give it.

QUOTE(KingDamo @ Jan 15 2015, 12:38 PM) Looking for personal tax info and help. What are the usual charges for a consultant's help? I receive income from two countries not MY, stay less than 180 days in MY and absent in year end or start (NR). 1. Consultancy fees from SG company for work in ID 2. Monthly salary from ID company for work in ID Mother ask me fast fast declare income before GST so can buy property wor. I don't really care about buying or not, but just want to declare my income. Since income not derived from Malaysia, I'm basically not taxable right? Please shed some light thank you. Not taxable, but I don't know (please get verification) whether you even need to declare. Declare to whom? I don't remember there being any place to declare income from not in Malaysia, but perhaps one of the other (not BE) forms got.

QUOTE(Underhill @ Jan 29 2015, 03:49 PM) If my wife quits her job on last year April, can I declare her as not working? And does she still need to file her income tax? Should still file income tax, just put no income. But of course for income until April better put. Should be below threshold anyway, so no loss.

QUOTE(David900924 @ Feb 18 2015, 05:43 PM) Thanks. 2 questions, 1. What is the benefits if declare all earning n pay more tax? aside from getting a loan from bank. 2. How about fixed and variable allowance? such as rent allowance and travel allowance (hotel+food+tolls). is it classified as earning? In the end allowances are used to pay off expenses to carry out the job. 1. Being according to the law and not getting punished when/if you get audited. Unless your earning is purely cash. 2. Depends on how your company puts in your EA form. In the end, if your company declares it as an allowance (and hence not taxable) they will pay tax on that money. If they declare it as part of your fixed salary (fixed alowance, in my company) then they don't pay tax, you do. No matter what someone will pay tax on the money.

QUOTE(vl319 @ Mar 3 2015, 12:19 AM) i read somewhere saying that if we are satisfied with current monthly PCB payment, we can choose not to do tax filing. is that true? For year 2014, after adding in the bonus, i found out that i need to pay few thousand extra tax Choosing not to file doesn't mean you won't be audited though. Consider properly.

QUOTE(supersound @ Mar 12 2015, 06:14 PM) Looks like a lot of people trying to cheat in income tax relief. I'm 1 of such person also But something to do that can avoid being audited : 1. do not put maximum amount 2. to adjust in the way such that you still have to pay them some money 3. do not simply claim 4. pray hard don't get audited Actually, if already cheating, why number 3.? If you simply claim doesn't increase your chances of getting audited (1. and 2. much more likely to effect), and if you're cheating anyway, whether you simply claim or not won't help when you're getting audited.

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Mar 31 2015, 01:14 PM) Alright now I understand. Thank you! Just need the EA just in case the officer in LHDN office require them. Dont want to go there twice. Was about to go after lunch but i guess after i got the EA. Already printed all of the receipts, and the Efiling for correction, as well as the letter of admission. so only the EA is left. Normally company will give you monthly pay slips, you can just total yourself. But easier to wait for EA form.

QUOTE(birdman8 @ Apr 4 2015, 12:31 AM) anyone else can provide some advise here? leave it to next year filing obviously won't solve the issue since i will face the same issue next year, i.e., tax filing fprm do not have any section for us to fill in to claim back the outstanding money from tax dept. Submit to your employer MTD with full claims, so that you owe them money then can write off. The problem you facing is every year you eligible for money back from them so the outstanding money will always sit there.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 5 2015, 04:13 PM) 50%? are u sure? Confirm, can go google yourself and check. But in response to previous poster, you think government only tax your 'extra' income ah? Every thing also want deduct this deduct that. Taxation is necessary for government to function, our roads and schools money come from thin air? The problem is not the tax, our tax is quite good already (of course need reform, for example capital gains tax and changing the limits). The problem is government spending. That one you are free to go curse every idiot wasting our money.
