Hi, noobandroid How do you fair between X5 and DX50?
In terms of SQ, GUI navigation & other stuff such as storage expansion (SD card).
Because the local Jaben does not have demo unit for FiiO so I guess I have to depends on written review to "compare"... *.*;;

We do have the FiiO X5 on demo.

I did try for the Ibasso Dx50 and another China made branded DAP (price is almost the same) in Jaben with different close back headphones and IEMs. Actually the DX50 didn't provide very natural sound compare to AK100. Both this models are made by same DAC card which is WM8740. So there's no difference with DAC. But for the amp, Ibasso is using their own made amp and another one is using AD8397 same as AK100 and X3. In my own opinion, iBasso DX50 didn't designed well on amplifying.

in your opinion, is X5 good to be used standalone without amping?

The exact question in my mind tongue.gif

Seriously? If it does, then sure worth the price.

the x5 GUI reminds me of a touch of ipods, using the navigation wheel, but the buttons are in somewhat "unusual" placements

So X5 or iPods are better in term of sound quality with headphone like HD600?

Where can test the X5? Do you have HD600 or HD650 as well?

Hi all..! I'm using X5 pairing with Pandora VI! Sweat combination..but... Has anyone any problem with 64bit DSD? I got problem with lots of "jerking" between the track. But when I relocate the files frm 64G microSD to 8Gb microSD... All ok! Wonder it is the sd card issue or something else..!

Have you checked the classes for the 8Gb and 64Gb? Your 8Gb may be faster (your 64 may be a class 6, your 8 may be a class 10, for example).

Dear vague and E1, the both microSD are of similar class.. Which are class10. I did notice when I first got the 64gb card, there is no way I could format fat32 on it...not by only way to do it with the X5 itself... The 32gb and lower capacity card yes, can easily format in fat32. Not sure this has for anything to do with it..
And Yes E1, my mistake DSD only 1bit. So my problem resides with 1bit and 24bit tracks..glitches all the way...
But split them into another card run from slot2... No issue already..
