for close quarter battle, the mp40 is better but the bullets can be emptied quite fast.

only 2 weapons for me, and i agree with snipe.

The muthafarking MG42! With 1200 RPM Cyclic rate, quick change barrels and awesome reliability, it's what you absolutely need to kill loads of ruskis.

The other would be the FG42 or the paratrooper rifle, semi auto and auto firepowah with a good package and one of the few WW2 rifles to come scoped as a standard.

Oh...and did someone left out the flamethrower? Though I don't think games have it

Return to Castle Wolfenstein had it... Then again, that game also has akimbo 1911s and a Tesla gun.

In Close Combat, the flamethrower was one of the scariest squads to bring along... Their explosions are freaking huge.
