Posting Guidelines:
This is to prevent the dreaded side scrolling.
  • Please make sure the desktop screenshot you post is safe to browse for anyone, this is not a place for you to show how sexy the babe on your wallpaper or desktop.
  • If your image is larger than 1440x900 please make a thumbnail or text linking to your image.
  • Please refrain from using a {spoiler} tag to post screenshots or embedded images
  • if you are going to quote a topic please remove the image from within the quote.
  • Moderators have the right to edit or remove any of the posts in this thread.
How do I post an image?:
  • Upload your image and thumbnail to your host
  • Use the following tag below and replace "yourURL" with the location and name of your image. This will link the thumbnail to your full size image. You can use text instead of a thumbnail by replacing the img tag with your text.
  • Also keep in mind that when using spaces in your url, replace the spaces with %20. Some images break when using spaces.
    Example:
    CODE
    [URL=http://yourURL/screenshot.jpg][IMG]http://yourURL/thumbnail.jpg[/IMG][/URL]
  • In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:
    • Visual Style: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
    • Wallpaper: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
    • Icons: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
    • Programs: Name/where you got it (with link would be nice).
-------------------

This is for everyone that asks for the wallpaper.

Give this a try: TinEye Reverse Image Search

QUOTE
You can right click on any posted desktop snap shot here, click on "Properties" to find the url of the photo and copy that to the clipboard, go to TinEye and paste the URL to be searched. Give it a shot!

Visual Style: We call it Gnome 3 desktop environment, currently on version 3.10 with Gnome extension dock-to-dash.
Wallpaper: Couldn’t remember from where I obtained it.
Icons: Default Gnome 3 Adwaita
Programs: On the right desktop, the widget program is called Conky. I am using Sea_Mod Conky currently http://seajey.deviantart.com/art/Conky-Seamod-v0-1-283461046

Well I have other games that I download from steam (TF2, Dota 2, etc.) and well others. Just have to scroll down from the fence Games. Yeah Fences is like... fence whatever program/shortcut you want into one fence.

Well fine I'm an oldfag. I still play GBA and PS2 games now. tongue.gif

Not really, depends on the movie aspect ratio. Most movies are same as cinema's ratio (2.40:1 or 21:9), that would be great bcoz it can fit fullscreen nicely. thumbup.gif
Some movies still use 16:9 ratio, so the screen will have letterbox and it sucks doh.gif . I usually play this kind of movie not in fullscreen mode. tongue.gif

I use 2 OS, Ubuntu and Windows 8. Last time I did use Rainmeter to customize Windows 7, using the "IronMan Jarvis" theme. I was hooked for a week or 2, but it is hardly customized, and the buttons are fixed by the img provider...and so I switched to Ubuntu, because it offers more flexibility in customization and tweaking.
After few weeks of researching and tweaking, I get to fully customize the skins and theme.

Unity

Attached Image

I didn't customize much, because the DE is work-related, use for office tools and etc.

KDE (Ghost-theme)

Attached Image

This one took me the most time! But finally did it, and I'm very happy about it tongue.gif

I actually have a 4th screen which is my tv which I watch my movies on.
I also keep 2 profiles, one normal n one eyefinity profile.
In both modes, when u play a movie/video it only occupies one screen even
On full screen mode.

The triple screen eyefinity mode only kicks in for certain games.
Unfortunately I don't play games a lot n this setup is mainly for my work which requires
A lot of multi tasking

Haha, I don't think so. It's actually just like any other multi monitor setup which is really useful for multi tasking. But come to think of it,I do eat quite a few meals in front of my screens

Very cool, mind sharing the theme and the icon? I like the taskbar and the icon, AND the wallpaper. thumbup.gif

It's been so long since I customize my desktop, I am thinking about new kind of visualization, something like circular panel or something like that, but I don't know how can it be done. Rocketdock is limited to horizontal and vertical panel, also don't have the knowledge to write a Rainmeter skin. rclxub.gif

Still using the same theme from last year, using different wallpaper only. sweat.gif

thanks and yours are pretty rad too smile.gif

for the theme im using here's the DA link: http://mistraval.deviantart.com/art/Premiere-367348871

meanwhile the icons are actually custom-made by myself. im not sure whether i should share them cause there's only like <15 icons i've made and those measly numbers does not really warrant for me to share it. i'll see what i can do later on icon_rolleyes.gif

p.s im not using any rainmeter skins actually, i find them pretty tedious to learn and use lol

Thank you! notworthy.gif Using the theme now. thumbup.gif

I don't like shooting games, because it is bad for our eyes. If I have some time,I always scan some books.
Except that,I often play free mmorpg. It's very interesting.

You know you can just automatically take a screenshot from screenfetch right? $ screenfetch -s IIRC

Also try setting up your urxvt, feels too default for me tongue.gif

Still using Windows atm, really missed *nix. Since I already got myself a new HDD I might plan on installing OpenBSD or something.

Just hidden away. It is still useful for minimized icons on the right there.

Sweet, which window version are you using?
In window 7 even after I hide it there's a tiny transparent bar visible, it isn't as neat as yours
Also any idea how should I customize my Taskbar?
Thanks for the skin

Windows 7.
I also have that transparent bar, but you can try set the Window Colour to white and set the intensity to 0.
I have no knowledge in customizing taskbar since I just hide it, but Google sure will help you.

I found it in here.
Please note that I literally scrolled through 400+ pages just to find some good one (in my opinion at least).
If you want this wallpaper, check out my DeviantArt as I post my works there (not all of them are there yet) which are available to download.

Ahh! Wallhaven! used to be Wallbase if I remember correctly. Thanks! Your desktop is really cool. I scanned through the thread and seem to recall that you are using Windows 7 right? I am on Windows 8 now though, so not sure if can change, gonna google around and see.

Ahh! Wallhaven! used to be Wallbase if I remember correctly. Thanks! Your desktop is really cool. I scanned through the thread and seem to recall that you are using Windows 7 right? I am on Windows 8 now though, so not sure if can change, gonna google around and see.

I don't know for sure. I only know that site from a fellow lowyat-er.
And yes, I'm using Windows 7, but I don't think Windows 8 will be much different though as Rainmeter is supported as well.

I found it in here.
Please note that I literally scrolled through 400+ pages just to find some good one (in my opinion at least).
If you want this wallpaper, check out my DeviantArt as I post my works there (not all of them are there yet) which are available to download.

DWM modified to my own liking, clock gets its own code and is centered. Tags on the statusbar indicate number of windows in said tag.

i find that stardock fences is all i really need to keep a tidy desktop. in the past i tried stuff like rain meter, but as useful as the hdd widgets are, i don't think it's possible to let the drives go to sleep, so to me that wasn't really practical.

also for simplicity sake i prefer my current setup  smile.gif

i also did some minor edits to the start tiles. now is more practical and less annoying when using the default tiles.
just saw your deviantart work. damn good, your very talented well done  nod.gif

just so you know, stardock fences automatically sorts out desktop so all files folders will auto be put into an ordered fashion... so less clutter.....

there is much more customization like creating own folder boxes with rules for how stuff get put into them. but i was pretty okay with the defaults.

that in itself is a big improv
