iPad mini retina and iPad Air is basically the same device, just that mini is smaller. So I don't see any issue if you want to jailbreak it.

Everyone should jailbreak cuz the animations on iOS7 are way too slow.
Install springtomize after JB-ing and tweak the animation speed to see what your device should really be operating like
