Hi,

(1) Who will do the installation, the shop or the cabinet maker or need to hire a separate installer? I asked 2 shops and both said they just sell, no installation.

(2) Can the hood be fixed on a tiled wall?

(3) What is the required amp for hood and induction hob?

(4) Planning to get below. Any comment?

Hood - RCH Monza X-BL
Hob - induction RIH Rekka 44-BL

Requirement for hood is flat top, above 1500 suction, less noise and easy to clean. I think Fotile is out budget. Any similar combo/non-combo from Livinox, Midea or Elba sub 2.5K?

TQ

Based on my own experience, so don't take it as the holy grail.

1) shop doesn't provide installation but they can recommend installer.
You can also request/nego for cabinet maker to install (i think this is better).

2) yes.

3) for your hob, it says max 2.0 + 2.2kW, so a 20A should be sufficient. My Teka has total 4.6kW and the user manual says it only needs 15 or 16A mcb iirc. Mine comes with a 15A plug. 4mm² wires should be more than enough. I was too kiasu and ran a 6mm² wiring.

Hood uses very little power, so they normally tap from your 13A sso per advice from my electrician.

4) no idea.

Note: if I am redoing my kitchen, I'd run separate cables from main DB and set up another DB in the kitchen. Makes things easier if you want to add new 13A SSOs without having to limit electricity loading on the existing SSO circuit (using oven, or clothes dryer for example, if the dryer is using the existing shared circuit).

Thanks for answering. Yeah, I saw one post about setting up a separate DB at kitchen which I think is a good idea. Will discuss with my contractor.

Is the induction type of stove just placed directly onto the surface cut out without anything else to hold it in place, or need to use silicone to hold it / seal the boundary? Thanks

What is the current [ampere] requirement for Induction hob with 2.2kW rating? Is the normal 13A sufficient?

When the induction hob is rated at 2.2kW, does it mean both induction plates combined, or just one?

you need to share the product link here, if not we cant advise. or ask the seller.

how to calculate amp

2200 watt / 240v = 9.2amp so 13amp no problem

RIH-REKKA44-BL
Induction-Horizontal
Energy Power (kW):
F: 2.0
R: 2.2

https://www.rubine.com.my/product/RIH-REKKA...YdzIxE0ywalFs2Y

I asked Chatgpt, it says F for front and R for rear. This is part that I dont understand because this is not a domino layout. So there is no front or rear plate.

So if calculate using the formula, F will be 8.33 A and R will be 9.17 A. Total would be 17.5A assumning we use both plates.

zheilwane Would like to ask the same question as Human Nature asked also, I ordered HPJ98 from you few weeks ago. But can't check what is the wattage online (only found power supply is 262W but I don't think that's the power rating)
*
Hi, that is a range hood right? a typical range hood has a power rating of around 200-300 watts, so that 262W is about right

For a T-hood without wall cabinet, can the 13A wall plug be concealed behind the duct cover/housing instead of exposing it outside? Thank you

1. Is exhaust pipe provided inside the range hood box, and usually how long? I already purchased the outdoor vent cap.

2. Who will drill/punch hole at the ceiling and the wall for the exhaust fan cap? The cabinet people? One eletrical shop charges RM350 for installation, is this including the drill hole? I forget to ask the shop this.

3. The distance from outdoor cap to hood is about 3 meter. Is this length considered not effective or ok? Or better use PVC pipe running up the ceiling?

4. The distance from ceiling to top of hood is about 0.8 meter. I didn't do cabinet to conceal this section. Any idea on how to conceal the vent pipe? Box up?

Thank you

actually all these u need to ask seller.  some brands got provided the hose n cap some brands dont.

some brands got sell extension cover to cover, if not then plaster ceiling box up

Ok, have text the seller, included 5ft.

Now got bigger problem. The back of the wall is neighbour's house so cannot drill to back. So that's why planned to go up the ceiling and bend to right. Just now my wireman said the ceiling directly above the wall in a beam so its impossible to drill through it. This way comes into my mind: duct goes up then bend inward by 2 ft then bend into ceiling, and then bend to right side. Box up L shape but super weird.

Is it really not recommended to just rely on charcoal filter and let it circulate?
