Thanks for writing down for me.
Yes I am non-rooted user.

I have tested a few as followings

Stock Wall Plug + Stock Cable = Charging rate down to 300

Stock Wall plug + BB Cable = Charging rate 1.2k - 1.9k

Blackberry Wall Plug + Samsung Cable = Not yet to be tested

Blackberry Wall Plug + Blackberry Cable = 800-900

Based on above, I'm guessing the stock cable is spoiled. Maybe I should get a certified cable for safety as per your advice.
1 more question, how can we tell if the wall plug charger happens to be spoiled ?
*
Stock Samsung S4 Wall Plug + Stock Cable, this should give you a current rate at range 1.5A-2.0A (Consider resistant)

Seeing from your results, there is no such problem with your phone perhaps nod.gif

Change cable rolleyes.gif

The wallplug is spoiled when it doesnt give an output as per stated on its specification.
Can check the output amperage using Multimeter icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi all fellow Sifu here, im thinking to flash miui for my s4.
But i heard that flashing custom rom will flag Knox warranty counter, which I really dont wish to. I still have 11 months warranty for my s4, not worth to void my warranty sad.gif

Is there anyway out to flash MIUI without flagging Knox warranty counter?
Thanks in advance!
*
No chance, rooting will trigger the knox

QUOTE(UserU @ May 30 2014, 12:24 AM)
Anyone knows whether is this a battery problem or the phone problem? Just happened 2 days ago:
- When charging while phone is off, the battery icon doesn't show occasionally
- Phone shuts down randomly(screen turns black and I've to reinsert the battery)
*
That bold part, yes it happened to me quite frequent. Mostly it will shuts down when i am using Camera.

QUOTE(Pius @ May 30 2014, 12:30 PM)
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my s4 is octa core version. Samsung stock rom is so laggg. I think its time for me to try MIUI
*
Im using Stock rom, de-bloat a bit, tweak with Init.D script a bit. With fast launcher.

Explore XDA Dev's forum for all information, you wont regret once your phone is like a kite. nod.gif

Now running Uncharted as recommended by wajahebat, stock debloated 4.4.2, everything great. MIUI battery not so good on I9500.
*
Have you tried Uncharted V2 ?? It was based on the latest NE4 firmware cool.gif

Are you using a custom ROM/ kernel?

I re-flashed the ROM I downloaded and the problem went away. Seemed that the custom kernel I downloaded was faulty and caused a massive drain and random shutdowns.
*
Nope, im on stock rom&kernel. Just some tweaks in build.prop and Init.d

Mine was not reboot, but sudden shutdown. It happens when im using Camera only. Not sure what was triggering the shutdown but once it did, i need to plug in/re-insert battery to turn it back on.

I read somewhere where it was the firmware fault and maybe hardware too. But dont really care rite now, gonna flash Uncharted Rom v2 after this

Haha, currently flashing V2, will report back to you. nod.gif

Im thinking of making my own custom rom laugh.gif

QUOTE(UserU @ May 31 2014, 05:24 PM)
I believe the hardware isn't the case. Tweaks can also be dangerous if not handled properly, which I encountered many times.

Your case is somewhat more fortunate than mine, because when that happened to my device, charging it doesn't work. I have to only reinsert the battery for it to boot up. To make things worse, no LED notification and huge battery icon when charging turned-off device and no audio even not on silent mode.

If you're having the i9500, Crash's ROM is highly recommended(final). Absolutely stable, no bugs and you could customize the first-time setup on apps installation.
*
Yeah maybe, im trying the newest firmware for i9500, see if it solves the problem

Does anyone of you experience such stupid bug of ur S4 alarm? This bug really drive me crazy sometimes.
*
It is a known bugs for S4 KitKat 4.4.2 (NC2/NB2/NC1) Firmware, the latest NE4 firmware does re-solve the issue.

You can wait for OTA upgrade to latest firmware NE4 or can flash through ODIN, i experienced the same thing like you and once upgraded to NE4, it is solved

Hello,
Anyone can help me on this problem.

Im stuck with my phone.

How can i solve this:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
Seems like there is an issue when youre upgrading your firmware, maybe corrupted file.

Can just flash fresh stock firmware through ODIN, i think Wiping/Factory Reset through recovery wont work as your firmware is corrupted. Need to flash fresh firmware files in ODIN, kies may gives you the same problem again

Yup, click PDA and choose your firmware files, Before connect your phone to your PC, boot into Download Mode

Recommended to use the latest release of Odin v3.09.
Make sure all option is un-thick except Auto-Reboot & F.Reset Time.

How do i know my phone firmware ver.? By looking at the last 3 digit of baseband version? I saw mine is NB2.
*
They will, Malaysia as usual will receive any OTA a bit late than others. Yup, yours is NB2.

but note 3 thread said tick BL??

mind to elaborate???
*
I personally flashed Note 3/S4 using ODIN a couple of times. Never thick that BL options at all.

Thick BL is not compulsory but it doesnt bring any harm if you thick it either. Why?

Applying bootloader flash is compulsory when there is a change/render in the bootloader files. In case of samsung, based on their changelist of each firmware (even from 4.3 to 4.4) , they never state any change in bootloader so it is not compulsory.

But i train myself to thick bootloader sometimes, when upgrading from 4.3 to 4.4
Eventhough i knew if i didnt thick it also doesnt bring any change.

If this case can i directly flash with custom rom? as i failed so many times downloading stock rom 1.49gb.

rclxub.gif
*
My advice is, do not flash any roms through recovery, possible is, you end up bootloop'ing.
It is obvious that your stock firmware flashing procedure was halted (based on the pic quoted by you).
We dont know at which part of the flash it was halted, it might be the kernel/bl/system.

Flash stock firmware by Odin first, try to download stock fw until successful. Just to avoid any sad story.

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Jun 3 2014, 03:43 PM)
Actually... I may be wrong, but flashing ROM doesn't require rooting, right?  Just flash custom recovery, then from the custom recovery, choose a zip to flash.  Then the custom ROM is already pre-rooted, no extra root required.  Right?
*
You need root access to inject custom recovery. Stock unrooted binaries doesn't allow custom recovery

the battery very fast use finish..i had use it to surf and make call cz im working and need contact my client often...almost need to charge twice a day..any solution for this?
*
Seems like maybe because of your battery lifespan is near to its end already. Or maybe there are some heavy bloatwares running in the background

What does it show in the battery menu in Settings ??

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Jun 3 2014, 04:23 PM)
Ahh OK.

BTW, I've flashed Uncharted V2 over my V1 with wiping cache and Dalvik only.  Runs fine so far, but occasionally when I exit something, my Nova Launcher restarts.  Hmmm.  Can I flash V1 add-ons to V2?  I want the status bar network speed.
*
Your Nova Launcher restarts is because 3rd party launcher doesnt happen to be in the memory list, so the system will kill Nova Launcher in terms of the need for extra memory (when it is needed). This is normal.

Usually i will use build.prop to force my launcher in memory. So that it will not be killed in any way.

About uncharted v1-v2, not soo sure about that, maybe you can just ask the devs in the thread cool.gif

i had went to samsung service center to ask...and they said perhaps i had programs running behind hence it use up fast, they also mention perhaps the battery lifespan ending soon cz im heavy user since need to make lots call and surfing..i already expect to get a new battery if it really dead
*
Okay before changing the battery lets take a look at your regular usage first.

Can post some battery screenshot? In Settings > More > Battery i need your screen on time and everything.
Maybe can identify some bollocks apps that kill your battery

Ive mentioned earlier, avoid MIUI. In my opinion, it is loaded with tons of bloatwares and wakelocks.
Ive tested for 3 devices already and all results the same.

hey dude, hows I9500 after the kitkat update? Am thinking to trade in my xperia zl to S4 3g version. Anything to advice? Btw, the s4 is also second hand..  smile.gif I care about the battery life as I'm so lazy to charge my phone so often..
*
Honestly saying, its just good enough for me. It depends on your usage, my usage is quite heavy browsing and games. 10 Hrs on battery ( 3 Hrs SOT//1.5 Hrs Clash Of Clans//1.5 Hrs social ).

Im using custom rom btw, with my very own tweaks here and there.
The latest firmware for S4 3G (NE4) have a better battery life too.

Honestly saying i miss 4.3 much more on GS4. Battery life is above excellent. But 4.4 kitkat is not that bad btw nod.gif

Im making my own version of custom rom, NE4(i9500) based. With minimum mods, tweaked for battery and performance. Special for LYN-ers S4 user.

Who dares to be my tester? brows.gif
