Guys, why i put my phone onto the charging dock, it doesnt charge?

Is thr anything i need enable first? cry.gif
*
happen to me too on 1st try.

QUOTE(ckchan @ Jan 3 2014, 11:29 PM)
did u insert your phone correctly? make sure u hear a "click" sound when inserting your phone

and is the dock connected to adaptor or PC usb port? the dock won't work when connected to PC usb port.
*
i think ori dock need at least 500mA to get activated. I try on notebook, notebook dock and Sony TV, all doesn't work. I try again using various USB adapter and powerbank from 500mA and above, all work fine. My 3rd party magnetic cable work fine on all USB.

I notice that for Z1 and ZL firmware update using PC companion, i don't need to go to flash mode 1st before the process begin. Previous model need to use power + volume up button to go to flash mode.

My ZL (just bought yesterday) after updating the firmware to 4.3, there is white balance setting option in Display.

I am very interested with the Z1. The only thing holding me back is a removable back cover so that I can easily change batteries when the battery is no longer good. Is it easy to remove the back cover to get access to the battery? Or must I pay sony for that?
*
QUOTE(ckchan @ Jan 6 2014, 12:27 AM)
unfortunately the battery is not user accessible. i think it will not be easy to remove the back cover. plus, u'll risk losing the waterproof feature if not done correctly. best is still send back to sony to have the battery changed.

but the battery won't deteriorate so fast. so far all the phones i use for 1year+ also no battery problem.
and seriously, how often do u need to change the battery?
*
I have Xperia S which also non-removable, bought on April 2012, the battery still good until today (even Z1 already replaced S, I still ON the phone).

Sony battery is really good IMHO, i have use Sony phone since 2004 (using SE name that time), more than 10 model, only 1 I really have to change the battery, the rest can use until I decide to sell or giveaway. Even right now I have in my SE Satio bought in 2010 with original battery. This phone will be use by my niece in next few days.

does not work when battery is going to die.
I don't mind not having the waterproof part. It is easier to replace faulty batteries than to go to specific shop. Sony batteries are good, but I find myself replacing batteries every 18 months on my SGS2. Also, I tend to use the same thing for a long time. Hope that Sony makes a version with removable cover.
*
I cannot comments about Samsung battery life because I only have SGS3, use for 1year plus and 1 the cheapest samsung phone. Both so far never give me any battery issue.

Z1 and Z back are made with glass, hard to make it removable.

You want waterproof + removable battery, you can get Xperia ZR but with less awesomeness.

Snapdragon 805-powered Sony Sirius to come at CES?

http://www.gsmarena.com/snapdragon_805_pow..._-news-7483.php
*
Oh my.... 'Sony's alleged flagship smartphone is codenamed Sirius and if the rumors are to be trusted, the device will sport a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels along with Snapdragon 805 chipset. Furthermore, the smartphone is very likely to come out with 3GB of RAM, 20.7 megapixel rear camera with the company's G lens, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 3,500mAh battery.'

I need to make sure full OT every month this year or join a 'kutu' geng. hmm.gif

Already bought z1 and honestly i like z1 screen rather thn my gnote3, z1 more natural and warm.. Browsing lama2 pun tak sakit mata n pening kapala..

QUOTE(ckchan @ Jan 8 2014, 10:48 AM)
glad u like it... i too prefer the natural color of z1. in fact i even switch off the x-reality in my z1 as i also find x-reality will cause the colour in my photos to looks too saturated as well.

though note3 and s4 colour are already toned down compared to s3, but i still find it to be on the saturated side
*
That's why I not upgrade my SGS3 to another Samsung. I still prefer Sony. Have use Sony for so long, the only Samsung smartphone I have is S3. Even my wife hate Samsung screen, can't see at all in sunny day. She got from me a new Xperia ZL last weekend.

Digi I not sure.
Maxis need to change to 128K sim.
Celcom need to change to 64K sim. Even if you use prepaid, can use LTE. Just SMS to activate.
Umobile, I just enable using SMS, no need to change sim.

I check at momax website, look like no case for Z1. Only have for Z.

I use for XPS before, really like it, hard silicon on all 4 side and hard transparent plastic at the back. Fit nicely too.

So... Safe to say currently nillkin frosted shield is the best bang for the buck? biggrin.gif
*
To be honest I don't like Nillkin frosted case, the finishing is not so smooth. The different colour is just a spray. Easy to broke too. I use for my XPS, also bought for my friend XP Z and ZL. I will skip Nillkin from now. Even Nillkin screen protector easy to scratched. doh.gif

Using Rock elegant series and also kalaideng. Both are flip case but I take out the flip from kalaideng.

I see. Did u diy remove the flip or can it be detached originally?
*
Kalaideng use glue. Just pull to remove. The inner side for kalaideng is softer than outside, can really feel it.

yeah.. LOL.. should ask celcom why that place only got LTE...

Kampung Baru area got... Maxis, Celcom and Digi.

The most stupid is Umobile, only inside Time Square got LTE. Other area in KL don't have it.

in engineering POV, it is good hot. Mean heat able to dispense. You gotta know Sony design by putting 2 glass.. hence any heat disperse will directly transfer to the back glass.

Another point of view, PvZ2 sucks coz take too much graphic processing power hence produce alot heat.

It is normal dont worry.
*
at 2.2Ghz speed sure really hot... it's time to get fan installed inside... brows.gif
Maybe can suggest at Sony Mobile FB page....
