Unfortunate stuff happened on me today  sweat.gif  Brought my Z1 and finally dip into water for the first time and tadaaa... camera lens masuk air  wtf.. At least my phone wasn't damage and still work like normal. Oh found out my sim card was wet too. Not the slot but the sim itself.

hope it dries up soon for you. my previous Sony phone get moisture all up the longer I keep the camera on. those are some frustrating moments. it was raining and I was drenched. the phone still works but the camera lens took two days to dry.

It happen a lot cases before.

Want play inside water, when new and not heat can play, after long usage better don't. Sony use glue, glue won't last long forever, after sometimes or heat will change the stickiness .

Water and electrical still enemies.
*
yeah heat is greatest enemies...but i think they have perfected a bit. so long still haven't heard of the raised back glass problem that prevalent for Xperia Z and it is already half a year.

Just went for a swim with my z1. Snapped a few under water pic. Everything's Ok until I got back home. Noticed my phone will like soft reboot. It shows the Sony logo, then the flame boot animation, then lock screen, but without asking for the sim card pin. So I open the sim card slot and noticed the white thingy had turned red. But I checked the sim card and is still dry. Then I open the microsd slot and found that the microsd is all wet.

But till now my phone still working Ok. No more soft reboot. Camera still working fine. Internet all still good.
*
i think our phone has two parts security feature...having submerged into water if the slots are all wet usually means motherboard is fried as well...

I don't know if you can see well, but from what I can see... It is actually pretty red, is that the moisture indicator you're talking about? That thing right there is already red from the very beginning,  about the time since I first get this baby on my hands. So far, my baby has been behaving well. No issues yet, so is there anything gonna happen to my phone?

BLM also no even but can hold my dashboard phone holder. Cost me only RM10. Use for few months already before I bought Z1.

I use magnetic cable, why?
*
u have the exact same one as mine. i attached it to the dashboard too with cpu side of the phone on the aircond vents. helps to chill out the phone. but the stick film did not last. maybe because i was charging it and using it at the same time...the pull cause by the cable...

lol im not that active in posting here anymore but still check back once it a while for any new updates

nope not using the cable anymore, bought it and now its collecting dust, using back the charging dock now. one reason is because the magnet is not strong enough, slight movement oni the whole cable will disconnect
*
yup, every single movement have a chance to disconnect. the worst part is while it isn't charging, the charging indicator is still on.

Better screen but it is negligible for me. 1GB RAM extra is not that much of a big deal with KitKat around. Besides, not as much bloatware with Sony vs Samsung. Not sure how much more space they will be taking up with recent things that they include like smartcall and smart backlight... but i hope is negligible.

it is all about marketing and brain washing technique laugh.gif
Sony presentation always so straight forward and ads not attractive (the did not have any creative ads like Samsung did).

But I guess that's only in Malaysia. In HK, I actually saw higher rate on Sony user and a tone of ads on MRT. Even TVB also a lot use Sony phone.
*
yup, even TVB drama was dominated by it and with the official Sony ringtone too. However, now not anymore. Maybe sponsor expire and Apple masuk pulak.

actually in recent months, i have already notice there's an increase of sony user when i take lrt to work. sony is gaining market share, but still don't expect it to shoot up overnight and take over samsung and apple
*
Me too as previously it is hard to see any. Finally Sony Z1 catches up with latest OS and specs and now Z2 is neck to neck against S5 which previously was still lagging somewhat

This is great. We have 4.3 and now 4.4 as well. I hope we get the one after Kit Kat too. Then the Z1 will be totally worth the money.

It depends how frequent you charges, my friend HTC Desire HD battery swell due to frequent plug-in/charging regardless of battery still above 20%.
*
battery will swell once it aged either by charging it or not even charging it. however my old Sony phone battery still working great despite charging 3x a day!

and what is so good about it is under the service test, the battery health test is still perfect like new capacity. however there was a time it deteriorate because I was charging with my car charger..

don't use the car cigarette charger like ever... it kills the battery. either use a powerbank or a main source.

no offense but it doesn't say much of a healthy battery if u need to chare it 3 times a day@@
*
I charge it 3x a day each time I took it off from Waze. Afraid to charge it together on Waze cause the heat can kill...

hi guys, ive been thinking about getting this phone z1. however, i have some concern on the poor low light camera perfiormance, poor battery life with web browsing and video playback, and some battery drain issue (in sonymobile forum). i believe all these issues can be fix via software updates. appreciate if you guys can share your experiences so far.
*
We have the best low light performance among Androids..and the battery life with the screen on time can last a good 6 hours. Which means it will last a whole day on normal usage. If not satisfactory, just get an extra powerbank.
