Hows the cvjoint?
*
When I went test drive with the technician can't hear a thing, maybe because of the heavy rain.

Then he jack up the car and check the joint for leakage but everything looks fine. He say he will try lubricate it and ask me to test see still got sound a not. He say that joint is connected to the driveshaft if anything happen the proton ppl from HQ have to come down and look if really need replace cause he say it cost about 3k+. I not sure is is true because I thought that cv joint is a separate part that can be replace individually.

yup its connected .. but can be replace separately ..
however .. nowadays most of them do not replace just the CV joint itself, due to the fact a lot of work need to be carry out. So they just replace the whole thing...

** if its under warranty .. proton will just claim their supplier .. as simple as that, they rugi on workmanship . but they have to ensure the parts really faulty only can claim else they sendiri telan the thing ...

they no blame u on the rims ?
*
Yeah, that's why he say I test and see if the sound is it really still there. Hopefully is really gone. At least he checked no leakage.

The service advisor got mention actually warranty dun cover if I change rims. Then I told him, now ori proton also 17 inch, no difference what.. tyre spec all same.. then he just let it through.. haha

I think if go to those authorized sc they sure malas layan. But so far all my warranty claim went through quite well. Luckily they have the disc brakes in stock coz i think it happens quite often on the inspira. I told him i had this issue since got my car but the other sc say will be gone after drive sometime. I drive 2 yrs ady still haven gone. After change whack 160km/h brake with no issue

I'm going back to stock 17 inch rims for another year till warranty ends while I get the SC to rectify all the metal knocking sound.

Anyone interested with my Lenso Project D spec B?

this noise:

nzh0920

doesn't seem like it's the rubber lining, i'm suspecting wheel bearing on the passenger side (it seems to come from there)

what do you guys think?
*
After my car came out from the SC replacing the disc brake. I also find there are some weird noise when I drive above 90km/h..

I really not sure is it the sound from the tyres or what..

not very sure how the inspira rotors are fitted/installed, however could they have possibly mess up the fitting/bearing?

mine have to be above 140(very hard, or sound not loud enough to notice) 160-180(easier/more consistent) km/h, anything below no sound though.
*
Anyway i will be going to the SC tomorrow again and ask them to check again on the metal knocking / clicking sound while I turn. Will ask them to take a look at the bearings as well. From what I know some said if the bearing damage it normally can't be seen. not sure how true is it.

Man after change to the 17 inch stock rims can feel the heaviness of it

true, the bearings are inside the wheel hub/knuckle. nothing visible until it reaches catastrophic damage where the wheel fly out laugh.gif
*
That's why I must force them to please check thoroughly for me as bearing / cv joint issues are not something to be taken lightly.

from personal experience, unless you are a serious track kaki with your car, you'd typically get annoyed by the sound and get things done before anything reaches catastrophic damage nod.gif

Cant stand the sound. Feels like some metal gona break like that haha

oh, just 1 inch also can feel the different oh. once the SC tech told me the weight for 16" and 17" original rim not much different. seem such slightly weight diff. means a lot... actually i plan to change 17" ori rim on coming year, thank for the info.
Quazacolt for your car weird sound i totally can't help, u know la car dummy im.  sweat.gif

I am using Lenso 17 inch previously. Which only weights about 7.5kg+ each rim. The stock 17 inch inspira rim is about 10.5 kg each rim ..

It's funny the sound just don't want appear when I want it to while the technician test drive it. He said he can't do anything since can't hear the sound and he can't pinpoint what to check and all. Proton also wont approve the claims if they found out that there is no defect. The technician said just recently one inspira got the gearbox replaced which cost 25k..

Guess I have to just keep driving it until the sound gets worse. Seems like the weird noise appearing after driving above 80km/h is the tyre noise.

mrng guys....my car due to 40k service......recommended to change cvt oil or can wait till 50k?

I'm changing mine at 50k...

it depends on your driving condition, if you paddle shift / rev your car often then it is better you change it at 40k

Thanks in advance.
*
you are doing your cvt oil change every 20k? shocking.gif

I think it depends on whether you are topping up or flushing it. Maybe someone who has done it can advice

Yes. I always practise to change the gear oil often coz I think the gearbox is much more sensitive than engine.

I change the gear oil of my old camry every 10k and it is working well after 18 years.

It is individual preference or maybe coz I plan to keep the car for long smile.gif

Quite costly to maintain it this way. So you are a hardcore driver??
