IINM Subaru's CVT uses chain link instead of steel/rubber bands with steel plates like Proton (including Mitsu INVECS III).

how to whack cvt? i use paddle shift 80% of the time ler.. for engine braking and shift weight oso..

i'm talking about subaru's lineartronic CVT, it's WAAAAY better than any other CVT i've driven

and straights ok to test your cvt characteristics wut... to see how the virtual gears behave/shift, if you can downshift at will. you don't need a friggin corner to shift, in fact even on race track, the only reason you downshift is because you want the torque upon exiting corners.

normal braking will always be prioritized over engine braking.
think about it, your brake pad more expensive or engine/clutch/transmission more expensive?
