Well bro takeshiru and myself we work in N9... we are here usually during the weekdays and we head back to KL over the weekends.. Specifically Takeshiru is in S2 and myself in Port Dickson.

06.10.14 - Haji Public Holiday - CWS fishing
Location : ClearWater Sanctuary Ipoh.
Damage : rm30 fishing all day ticket.

Well just finished my work duty in the morning 8am , hands felt itchy abit to fish . Decided to head over to CWS since I got to fetch the Mrs back from Ipoh anyways. Started fishing roughly around 11.30am after a good breakfast. Although midday fishing generally is not recommended at CWS but who cares...hands feeling itchy...why not take my lures for a swim. . .. haha. Started of casting from the main dock, 30 minutes and decided to shift behind the tennis courts in line with the drive range .. .another 30minutes went by before decided to head back to the stretch along the main dock ... landed a nice Mono. While landing the mono, noticed a toman in pursuit of the hooked on mono .. but it gave up when I lifted it up. Resumed fishing for bout 10minutes, noticed a good sized Azul swimming close but no response and finally decided to head back to Ipoh centre to have lunch . Total Duration : roughly a good 1 hour 30minutes casting.

Nope bro didnt know bout that Kolam till I just googled it .. quite near my place actually if im coming from Linggi, Port Dickson since its in Rantau. Have you tried fishing there bro ? hows the catch rate there ? they main dedak or roti usually at that kolam ?

yup bro... must be there early...unfortunately same old work pops up in between my fishing agenda's. They got rid most of the monitor lizards already bro... only in the lake by the drive range still holds a few big sized lizards trolling the waters, but there is where the big mama's are at. Boats were grounded yesterday..Im not quite sure why, well even the guy doesnt knows why tak boleh pakai boat yesterday. Bagus ah Yusop, semua prepared...sounds good..after CNY..dont forget me le.

Its interesting to know they will test it out at the Palms .. They use shimano bait runners, stella's, twinpowers, to pair with their Uptide rods over there. Would love to see how the Ryojin stands against their giants provide a giant is at the end of the line

Hahahaha.. in my case , My fiance accompanied me almost everywhere I fished, you name it from 13 hours exposed to heat and rain or some mid night action... lol.. complains from her were there, but after a few trips, she kinds of get the drill... the complains will slowly die off. Infact shockingly a month oor two ago she asked me for her own setup... ahahahaha

Hi AlexNg87, those are probably a handful of the number of specimens they have there.. nevertheless the timings are important. For an example, the Ripsaw Niger you posted, that fish you usually takes the bait during heavy rain/monsoon season in Thailand.. I've fished in Palm Tree a number of times with bro takeshiru. Owner is a good acquaintance of ours..
Dont be deceived, the owner is a female..with plenty of luck on her hands, an experience angler she is. Let me build ur excitement to what you would be expecting .. hehe

























I was fortunate to land 3 Arapaima Gigas in 1 outing .. its their venue record for a single angler

Bro kayent was fortunate to join on our outing at Palm early this year, landing a Tambique , Asian Redtail , Amazon RTC ...etc














Last but not the least, the specimen which no one has landed ever since it was first released ... fortunately me and takeshiru landed a piece each .. the Giraffe Catfish ( Auchenoglanis occidentalis )




Most of our specimens were all landed during the monsoon and heavy rain (the odds were against us). We started our campaign as early as 8am and we closed at 8pm landing a staggering collection.

Btw my trip with bro takeshiru is coming up slightly before ur trip, when I meet the owner and the guides there, maybe I can just inform sikit2 to them that you guys are coming as well. The owner always love a good loyal recommendation and will be onsite to fish with you guys if she knows bout it. Sometimes she is out of the country visiting her husband who works in Australia .. the actual owner of the Palms to be exact.

To me tak berbaloi .. unless you love a good fight with an Amazon RTC and Baung and you dont get bored of it easily. Dont get me wrong, there are plenty of other species too, but the odds in favour might be less considering the ratio of the cats there are way overboard and those cats are generally hungry and will take anything you throw at them. Anyways, Exotic Rawang Management are opening up a new casting pond in Behrang ... just by the side of North-South highway, on your right when ur driving up to Ipoh.. Last I passed there, the digging work and shed constructions are done. Should be early next year or most likely after CNY should be the opening ceremony. Quite promising lineup of fishes will be filled in there according to the staff working at Rawang.

PTL trip was great, lots of bites, plenty of fish landed in which 70% consist of Amazonian RTC's all sizes from the mega sized to the big head small body hybrids.. Also landed was 2 giant Asian RTC, 1 Chao Phraya, 2 Mekong's , 1 Albino Mekong, a string of Patin's to end the day. Total Fish landed was in the range of 25+.

Weather was abit cold, water temp was on the cold side, inhibiting bites... but nevertheless we are quite thankful to land a huge sum of fish, taking into consideration the other 2 anglers were new comers to PTL... they did have a good fight with the huge RTC's.

Total sets opened were 3 sets (each set consist of 3 rods) with additional 1 set to hunt down the Ari... Ari's were a no show.
