Lines plays quite an important role of the fishing experience imho. But as with other hobbies, enjoy within your means.

my first choice always sufix832 > power pro slick 8 > tufline >  other cap ayam line

is the coating of the line that determine how long you use until fuzzy
*
I love using sufix832 as well. The diameter is slightly thicker than the Japanese lines but it holds up better.

3 - dedak 929+matsumoto strawberi
all of us use lampang jai oni up red tail and baung. nothing else.
use wat gor - also baung oni. red tail no hue this bait dunno why

go behind big water pam - wat shit also no get. mekong i think eat fuill full jor.

gear used - 40lbs with metal leader + C hook 4/10. my multifilamen not yet pos laju to me sad.gif

WIR - once a year go ok la. RM100 not cheap. lampang jai RM 1 each , wat gor still RM 2 tiok 5 piece summore. dedak the mekong dowan hue me.

go there is for gear testing oni. bring casting rod go test test ok la or unless dry spell for long period then go there gian back again. really expensive wei.
*
Thx. At least got fish. Sometimes I go there around 21:00 to 00:00 also no fish. Coz I usually use lures only. Don't dare go pump area coz my gear not heavy enough. 10-20lbs rod with 20lbs line, always kena bully if kena the big Amazon.

the timing i guess. coz when reach sure up 1 or 2 baung within first hour. sure very sien after that. red tail no fight 1. all also first few tugs syiok then after that no more power.

so last remaining 2-3 hour sure go behind big water machine there and aim monster mekong or at least the aligator gar.

u use artificial bait got try change color ? this one the indon worker tell me 1. every season the monster mekong and the turtle there attracted to diff color each season. i  go jigging there and only managed to bring up red tail even if i camp behind big water pam there. he say color not ngam but i already no more color to use wei.

this my sotong gear. very faithful to me.

user posted image

my faithful 3000. pls dun caci me cheapskate ok ? i buy until today still no spoil so it remain faithful to me.

my jiggers

user posted image

all color here i can tell u, is not suitable to up the monster mekong or the old waterfish in exotic. i dunno what shit color they want, i tried all before. so i prefer just stick to dedak, got higher chance. the gar will bite my little pink 18gsm. other than that, i try again the gar dowan to hue me.
user posted image
so it concludes, the monster mekong very picky go to school already graduate, and the gar i dunno mebbe missing or dead i not sure. but already 1 year + i didnt see ah gar liao.

If fish at night, can the fish still differentiate colors? If morning, then I believe can la.. but at the dead of the night...hmm..

Ss2 usually sell medium to high end stuff
So  is not really budget friendly, but you get good
Customer service with auntie Ann.

I prefer go kepong tackle for survey only
Their attitude is abit off, because they got
Too much customer and cant bother
Explaining to every customer.
*
The natural progression is usually kepong > ss2 > angler's central.

angler central beside the daytime fishball noodle very good. nighttime the dai chou also good.

angler central ii only went in once. manyak mahal manyak hi end mia barang. open quite late 1. i dun dare go in anymore after they renovate liao.
*
Go in wash eye. Japanese rods very nice to use. Light and sensitive.

I like the fishball noodles as well, closes at 3pm if I'm not mistaken.

I actually don't really need advise on how to use items unless they are super technical.
Price wise for reels, where do you think is cheaper other than Pudu LPM and Digital?
Kepong Tackle out of the question as they're too arrogant.
*
Go to the nearest. But I think digital has more selection.

Heard of the brand before but never used or seen any of their products. I prefer the action of Japanese lures..

Guys.... I need a fish grip so that easier to release hook and can take photos... Will the mini ones around 17cm be k to use at Jugra? The ones I saw at digital cheapest RM50....
How about this one from Lazada at RM28?
I see most people use the grip to lift the fish when taking photos... Does it hurt the fish? Wheres the best place to hold them.. Lower lip?
*
Although fish feels no pain, but the fish grip will most likely cause damage to their lower jaw.

One word of advise is to test the fish grip before buying. It is essential that the lips of the grip is secure does not open easily. Usually the fish grip locks on to the lower lip of the fish.

help help~~

i recently bought a beginner rod and reel.
pair it up with 30lbs braided line.

everytime i cast, sure got fried meehoon flying out. so i remove the line and re-reel. got better after a few cast.

then whenever i cast further than the previous 1, it will come back again.
is there any incompatibility issue? or i have to tie a weight, and cast as far as possible several times to break in?
*
Usually break in are not needed. I suspect that you may have spooled it wrongly. Go search for some spoiling guide in YouTube to find out the correct way to spool a reel.

Guys... Need some advice...

I got a 2500 spinning reel but now thinking of a smaller one like 1000... Pair with 10lb line...
Should I get braid or mono?
I only fish at paypond..... Casting.. So far Jugra only...
Whichi would allow better casting?
I notice siakap pond in Melaka all using mono... Anyone know the reason? Is it price? Invisible?
Thanks
*
With braid, you will be able to fit more line into the spool. I prefer the sensitivity of a braid, with mono, I find the stretch is not to my liking. Then again, YMMV.

Very educational! Thx! I generally only use fg and uni. Most of my rods are on micro guides so the fg knot slimness will really help. Uni is used on heavier setup. Heavier setup has bigger rings.

Oh ya ka. the last time i went (few years ago) i saw many ppl bringing them back.
Is it okay if i bring these:

1) 929 Pellet + strawberry/Pandan power powder
2) Chicken liver
3) Bread & Mealworms (to catch small tilapias for baitfish)
*
Depends on your target species actually. I usually go for the catfish, soft plastics and pork liver works for me.

Actually I do not have any target species. Haha.
Just want any big size fish only.
Is bite rate decent from 7 to 10pm? I know that during noon bite rates will be a lot less if compared to early morning/night so basically I only have either morning or night..
*
Bite rate is a bit difficult to gauge. Sometimes it's damn good where I can hit 10 fish within the period and sometimes I go home empty.
