planning a trip to east coast this merdeka, leaving from kemaman. any news from over there? last heard this year fishing not so good... any tips or guides?

ok guys here are the details for my coming fishing trip...

Location : Kemaman
Boat: dunno how many footer but boatman says 10 ppl comfortable
Price: 1500 include meals. no bait provided but will go candat sotong first as bait. advisable to bring some kembong as bait
Date: 30th aug - 31st aug (sunday and monday) leaving kl in the morning, fishing starts around 3pm and finish 10am the next morning. then head back kl.
Type of fishing: bottom
Might rent a house to keep stuff and take shower.
Cost per person should be around RM200

so far we have 6 person, 4 more slots to go. siapa nak join?

how much is your boat? your boatman name?

just got news from kemaman boatman...weather is rough lately and my trip is cancelled

exactly my reaction bro!! but dunno he lie to me or not la...he say lately wind very strong, not advisable to go out there...the prediction is that the wind will stay

if this tak jadi, we plan something else la bro!

Anyone been to Tadom Hill? Understood that fishing is not allowed there, but there is a pond nearby, which is run by orang asli and fishing is allowed..any info guys?

lol haunted malay cemetery...anyway, got my gear all ready, heading over there for a company trip stayover, will come back with some report, if there is any

Here is the report at Tadom, nothing much though...woke up at 7am, fished for less than an hour only..

There is a paypond within walking distance from Tadom Hill Resort, but was closed for shooting, tough luck..didnt get any info on the pond as we were not allowed to go near it. Then we drove a little further in, and found a few small lakes. Considered quite secluded and undisturbed. Clear water, decided to start casting. On my 2nd cast, a curut took my Rapala Crankbait, shown below, follwed by a lot of chases by all small size haruan around 6-8 inches. Saw a few cichlids but not too sure, defintely not tilapia. Nothing big in sight. Turtle pun ada. There was also a huge splash in the middle of the lake which is out of casting distance... had to go back early for our breakie at 8am.. sorry for the lack of photos, phone was out of batt,only managed to snap 2 photos of the catch. this is actually a company team building, just sneaked out and wet my lines. It is good to know that there are still places in the wild where fishing is still possible..lol

The lake is just by the road, no need to walk

its actually inside palm oil estate, but there is a narrow tar road just enough for a car, and the lake is just next to it
