QUOTE(LV-strom @ Nov 10 2014, 07:38 PM) did some survey on catching bawal emas....it is close to impossible to catch them on rod and line, here is the reason:1: the mouth is sooooo small u have to use very small hook 2: they hang around mid water so bottom feeding is out of question, only way is to play by float...when u play float, with small hook....in such big sea....what are the chances? lol.. plus, small hook, small bait, easy target for other small fishes, they will kacau your bait.... only person i heard caught with rod and line was a restaurant operator in sabah, just next to his restaurant and cast by the beach, but i think it was pure luck maybe i'm wrong, u can try google up a bit about bawal emas...good luck, if there is any info please share here...thx |

QUOTE(katsumoto2011 @ Feb 23 2015, 06:35 PM) 5kg drag is enough already, fight for 10 minute you also tired it is enough but problem is the pond is small and there were a lot people, cant let the fish run too much so gotta put it at max. pond size is only about 1/3 or even 1/4 of sek 24, 20 ppl sitting at only 1 side of the pond...lolif multiple hook up one day sure next day muscle pain hahaha |

QUOTE(1dollar @ Mar 23 2015, 07:22 PM) Air ganda trip last Wednesday & Thursday. Left 2am Wed morning and arrived just in time for dawn action. Stayed a night in town and drove back right after Thursday session bout 10pm. Arrived KL 2am safe and happy. Over all both of us landed more than 20, nothing significantly big. Quantity over quality, however, even those bujang rempits are small below 2KG,.. hooks were straighten, rods we bent below deck. Massive powerful tomans on steroids. Only 2 batch of fry spotted, most of the fishes are now in mating season as we caught and saw couples courting together. Plenty misses and got away. Lure of the day was DUO Realis jerkbait 100, landed more than 10 on just 1 same lure. Rapala DT, Realis Crank 65, Risto 7 we all put into good use as well. Heddon for top water. Didnt take other top water like buzz, realis 110, jump frog. Water was extremely clear, best to use natural feeder fish colour (silver and shinny) Techniques,.. cast over rise, extremely fast retrieve with jerks. Those interested to go next time,.. there always Usop and Anip who are the local boatman come guide. Will be heading back in next 3 months again. |

QUOTE(whitesmith @ May 13 2015, 04:06 PM) tmr i m going to candat sotong, the boot man said they cover the umpan and candat mata. but heard a lot of them saying, if u used the free stuff will only get little of sotong. best is the one where in the middle u put a kembong fish...highest catch rate..almost lok chiak lok chiakis it suggested to take yozuri umpan (rm29) , cause i only wan to pakai one time only. and is it really very high bait rate compare to the normal mata? Any sifu, can teach me? and if I wan to play seabottom, how long the short leader and the subsequent line length i should put? |
