What's sakai?

GT bout 500g are not bad eating, big ones meat is rough, same goes  for all pelagic fishes like tuna and mackerel, my guess due to their powerful nature
*
Not putting anyone off. Just think there's better and more sustainable fish out there to be consumed.

500g is rather small to be consuming is it not?

Oh ya forgot, Malaysia no bag and size limit. Each to their own I suppose.

QUOTE(LV-strom @ May 29 2015, 06:11 PM)
hey I recently discovered that......
for my daiwa lexa 100HL.....weight of the sinker doesn't really make much different and I also find out that I am now able to cast lighter sinker. I used to use at least 15- 18g sinker on my 6ft rod. now I can go as low as 6-8g......and still cast over 30 meters
*
That's good.....but u should start practicing casting with a lure. Using a sinker with it's shape means there's less wind resistance / drag thus making it easier to cast. Once you factor in wind etc then things get "interesting". Ppl get too hard up on distance with a baitcaster when really the point is really to get accuracy. I've seen pro's hit a milo can 30 yards out 8/9 times out of 10. Best i've done is 4. Lol. Keep it up though......practice makes perfect.

Where do you live? Carpark so empty...... When I go to my local Tesco man takes me ages to find a carpark....sigh.

Casting distance don't just rely on reel alone. Rod plays an important part as well. Too stiff and you will lose distance. Essentially you will need to "load" up your rod to get better distance as well. Shorter rods tends to have shorter casts. Lots of things to factor in.

Worst comes to worse if you just want distance......heavier sinker lo....

Yep thats a setup.
Whats the poundage on ur mono? Mono is so thick you'd be lucky to cast far dude. With the wind kicking up and due to the thickness of mono and causing drag, that makes things worse.

Btw a 6ft rod is short. Try a 7 foooter or more and you'll start to see the difference. Also whats ur poundage on ur rod?

setup????

I'm using daiwa lexa 100HL with 6ft xpuyu rod....

I don't need to proved anything to you or anyone.

and I certainly don't give a shit what you think.

what I do need is figure out how to catch this 4 fish.

bumpnose trevally
atule mate
snubnose pompano
...........
oh what the hell I guess i'll just try to capture any species of carangidae I can.

by the way......float rigs and sabiki rigs are a seriously waste of time and money.
it never one work.....
*
Did you google the scientific names to sound smart or? Odd as no one really use the scientific names of fish generally.

sabiki rigs are the best option to use if u want to catch ur so called atule mate aka yellowtail scad aka kembong (the name we uneducated fisherfolk generally use) give it a go, add some prawns on the individual hooks. might surprise urself.
