QUOTE(inv @ Jan 5 2015, 10:19 AM) EAK opens from 730 to 630, Tuesday to Sunday. Fees is at RM30/day. Additional charges for boat. For best results, use any bait that floats. Anything goes in EAK now. Thanks for the info, bro. Any nice place to get good results within the waters? Amazingly this is my first trip there despite I was staying there since I was a kid @@

QUOTE(fireHOST @ Jan 8 2015, 08:08 PM) need help.. any suggestion for size 1000 reel price around rm100? wanna match with ganko rod ajiking or tomman? i tested the mini power 800,not bad but slightly a lil bit over your budget by ard 50 bucks. those low end shimano and daiwa i think best to avoid i hv the tomman beaufort 1000 with the nemesis, not bad for a reel that cost me less than 100 bucks tho

QUOTE(fireHOST @ Jan 8 2015, 08:35 PM) it is ok to add around rm50.. but reel size 1000 - 2000 is better.. size 800 too small for ganko.. use tica GCA 800 for nemesis also.. im looking for a 1k reel as well, poket already koyak. i "accidently" bought the 1pc 5' 4-10lb ganko while i was supposed to be buying lures. Ended up kena lecture sampai rumah Just tested the rod at EAK yesterday. The bending of the rod made me sweat a lot lol. The mama toman guarding her fries got unhook after 1-2 min of fighting

QUOTE(Guenhwyvar @ Jan 22 2015, 07:36 PM) Hey guys, I was thinking of heading over to Tasik Banding to fish. Any advice on what kind of bait I should use? And also what kind of fish are there available? I only know they have Toman there. Quite excited to catch it. Well I have never caught a toman before. So yeah please hit me up with some ideas like what kind of bait or lure I should use? Thank you very much and happy fishing as always. afaik, toman n sebarau r the main attraction. just pack all your lures there n hv fun!

oh yeah, let's talk about fishing! so, is it still worth it to get the shimano nasci 2010? i kinda like the design comparing the 2013 model. 200++ for a reel still sounds like a reasonable price for some1 with kuli's salary like myself. plan to pair it with a storm trickster. on the side note, anyone planning to go royal belum or temenggor for fishing this year? can a noob like me tag along?

QUOTE(slimfox @ Jan 25 2015, 11:25 AM) Yep agree 2" all. After they have fish for a longer period they will find that its not the equipment but the fisherman. I have seen a friend who landed huge pacu (3kg) with just a rod and reel combo worth less than rm100 (line was 16lb if I recall correctly). Equipment is one thing, skill is another. Where is the fun if you go fishing with 100lb line with drag fully lock and just drag the fish back (seen often in Sealion)? The fun and skill is when you use a light line and land a big fish, other way around is just luck in getting the fish to bite. Guess there are a few types of anglers, some collect equipment (I was in this category before), some just want the fish and some just want the thrill of fighting the fish and landing it with really light rod and line (now I am here). i still get goosebumps when i recall how sifu sunny and aziz using 2lb and 5lb line respectively fighting those pacus in tow foo. everyone knows the pacus there mean serious business

QUOTE(slimfox @ Jan 25 2015, 12:11 PM) yeah, man. my wife couldn't understand why i still enjoy fishing so much even i was fishing for ginkgo nuts sometimes and she was saying i looked like a small boy gotten his favorite toy whenever i've landed a fish be it a larger 1 or merely a tiny little ikan bilis haha. but i do feeling thankful for her to accompany me for fishing even if she was just enjoying the air-cond in the car while i was fishing under the hot sun

QUOTE(Guenhwyvar @ Jan 25 2015, 01:03 PM) Ah thanks for the advice bros, but does popper type works there too? Well I haven't tried fishing with a popper before, but looks fun. Those topwater lures will attract the rempit tomans. Popper, spinner, spoon u name it. The good advantage of fishing at those huge large lakes are due to the fishes are still unfamiliar with lures so basically they will whack most of the lures as long as they're in the hunting mood. Casting the lure to the fries is the most thrilling for me. Almost fly rod when the mama came n protect her little ones by trying to tear my ofmer into pieces lol. That was at kenyir btw

QUOTE(katsumoto2011 @ Jan 25 2015, 04:16 PM) the current new model nasci i haven try fishing before but i do have the older model one the gold and gray color spool , it serve me well for 3 year and still working perfectly even after all the mekong and sea fishing i put it into , definitely well spend for the money still working strong currently , the drag is slightly on the low side but i would say the smoothness is great for it price tag LOL rempit toman ah,nice to hear that. in that case i'll just grab it since the review are not bad
