WOW... so fast.. already reach V33 O.O
not really come here often, but will keep following as always smile.gif

**btw now using CM 11 Temasek, it's quite nice to use
so recommend for the people who want to experience the pure android XD
*
Temasek is not pure Android at all. It's like rojak already, in a good way.

Pure Android is pure aosp rom that is the stock rom on Nexus device.

Cyanogenmod was the closest to stock, before Omni appear.
Cyanogenmod added many useful features compared to stock.

Other rom like slimbean, aokp, chameleon, paranoid Android all have their own unique features, making them not fully pure Android.

Back to temasek, this guy is kang expert.
He put everything into his rom, TRDS, halo, cm tiles, cursor control, active display, non intrusive call. Basically everything available, except for PA dpi engine.

Real pure Android is a pain to use due to many lack of features. I rather use a touch wiz rom than completely stock.

When i open contact it's took a while to open and when i launch an apps some times it's took after to open. Also flipping from one menu to the other also slow... weird.. rclxub.gif
*
isnt this standard issue in touchwiz?
the dialer and contact always delay 1 second or so before it open.

but if your delay is everywhere, you might accidentally turn on power saving mode.
it underclock your phone and severely slow down everything

flash back, let it be 1.6ghz, and try extreme battery profile.

i couldnt remember. just go to next page slowly and read until you see profile.
*
better dont overclock, just leave it at stock 1.4GHz.

Just wondering how is CM11 looks like? Can share few screen shot?
*
do you have a custom recovery? clockworkmod or twrp?

if you do, create a nandroid backup,

then download and flash a copy of CM. and feel the awesomness.
with nandroid backup, you basically have a time machine, feel free to explore new rom, when you're done, you can always restore back. no harm done.

*
it's very easy to get a custom recovery (cwm or twrp)

download the recovery image from their respective website, and flash it using this app

Merry christmas yo  icon_idea.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

Those who are on Temasek's CM11 4.4.2 ROM, any of you guys have this problem too?

My wifi usage shows that it is constantly on even though I turned off my wifi for most of the time.
Battery life seems to be unaffected though. Probably just some bug  sweat.gif

imo, i prefer slimbean or incoming stable slimkat (not sure when) over temasek/cm/omni

blush.gif
*
omni is very empty. cm is ok, have about 80% of previous feature, remaining ones can be added using xposed

temasek is currently the most complete package since it has everything from 4.3/4.2 without the need of xposed.

slim roms were good, i used their 4.2 slimbean since august to end of november, but current slimkat is rubbish
the developer lost his brain by altering default dpi and not include settings to restore default dpi.
not only that, it's lacking some previouis features as well. unable to turn off capacitive key light is an instant turn off for me. after after 2 weekly release still like that

dont be a fan of any developer, when there is a better alternative, its always good to give it a try.

stable of any rom will only appear when new android is out
example, you get stable cm9 when jellybean 4.1 released
you get stable cm10 when jellybean 4.2 released
stable cm10.1 when JB4.3 released
and stable cm10.2 when KK released

dev will slap the stable sign on their last nightly and move on to the new android version.

Since WanamLite isn't maintained any more, what would you guys recommend is the next best TouchWiz based ROM?

Wanna flash a ROM for my sister, she's not too technical so just want to get her something she's used to so that's why going with TouchWiz. I've used WanamLite before but now that its not maintained not sure what else to try. Tried ARHD before too, and it wasn't too good, performance was not up to WanamLite standard.

Any recommendations?
*
what's there to maintain?
seems no different at all for samsung roms.
the rom itself no changes also.

just take a stock rom, root and use wanam xposed to get all the features and customization.
kernel side use yank, that should be it already.

Try Omega ROM, there are going to release v53 soon.. pretty decent, and with aroma installer, u can choose not to install Samsung bloats..

also if u flash Boeffla kernel, battery life is very good.. Boeffla's idealogy is to keep things simple..
*
just wondering, in boeffla kernel, check you battery usage,
do you have any apps appear in battery usage?

previously i tried boeffla, in batter usage, it doenst show any apps,
only have some usual sysmem apps like, android system, android OS, cell standby etc

on samsung 4.3 stock rom, is there any way to get to notification history?

it's available for me on aosp rom, just add a setting shortcut widget in homescreen, and choose notification. when i tap it, it shows a history of notifications. very useful incase accidentally clear all notification.

but i wana add for my friend note3 on 4.3, dont have option to add setting shortcut to homescreen. cant even add a battery usage shortcut to homescreen. why does touch wiz remove useful android features. ><

u mean the Boeffle-Config app? nope, it never show..
it shouldn't appear as it is an app, merely to control your kernel/hardware..  smile.gif
*
no that is not what i meant.

go to settings>battery

it shows what app uses how many % battery.
usually the highest will be screen.

but when using boeffle kernel,
user apps wont appear.
it only have screen, android system, android os, cell standby, media server
thats all.

so you wont know which app is consuming how much power

Guys.. im now need to use old rom (slimbean 4.3)
Can anyone guide me how to dual boot it with latest temasek 4.4.2.

Thx so much
*
if you dual boot a samsung rom and aosp, that makes more sense.
since more features and smoother on aosp,
and have hdmi out and s beam on touch wiz

what's the point of dual booting 2 aosp rom?
they have the same benefits and same weakness
isnt it better to just stick to either one?
slimbean and temasek are great already

temasek kit kat stable to use for daily ? read that they have camera problem...
*
no camera problem.
the solution exist long ago. 1st november actually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46983209

those who complain camera problem are really lazy noobs who doesnt read.
temasek rom since v24 already dont have "cant connect to camera" issue.

temasek is without competition the best kitkat aosp rom right now.
i am using it since december till now with no issues.

omni too empty, cm slow, slimkat dreaming, aokp just woke up. all of them are lacking features that already exist since 4.3.
only temasek have all previous 4.3 features, i just use stock kernel with the rom since already problem free.

hi guys i just flashed temasek unofficial cm11 build. i cant disable the back and menu key backlight. even after i disabled it it is still on. anybody experience it?

also i noticed there's no settings to add notification toggles. is there a way to add it? preferably not an app.

also is there a way to have the camera save to external?
*
back and menu backlight
settings>advance>screen>untick backlight

for your next 2 question, they dont affect me because i dont use them.

notification toggles became obsolete since android 4.2 introduce quick settings.
i saw in temasek thread someone said omni added it back in yesterday nightly. so maybe temasek will include it.

camera i prefer to save to internel storage since internal write speed is faster.
which gapps you flash? i flash banks standard gapps, it has photosphere cam but no option to save to external.
i did flash the camera fix posted above, it gives me the 4.3 camera app without replacing the photosphere camera app.
so you have 2 camera app. the 4.3 one has option to save to external.
