Hi All.

Is it advisable to use the Air Purifier when the windows and door is in closed position or just let the outside air go in(windows, sliding door, door in open position)?

Usage: Livingroom

You can use it both way with sealed door or windows. Because closed airflow indoor environment are more polluted than outside.

All talk about sharp n mi...how about medklinn, thinking of buying medklinn asen 60..any gooding?

Medklinn seems very good too. it cleans the air by ionizing, but it doesnt have the filter the air. so dust particles will fall on the floor and have to clean the follr more often.

Xiaomi is the most cost effective to efficiency ratio.

After many years of experience with some air purifiers, increasing the fan rate to its maximum capacity will reduce its efficiency.

Might as well buy two air purifier working at its quiet and efficient speed rather than one expensive one mati2 stress the dust probably pushed out from the filter.

So it works better on auto huh. Thanks for the tip. All these while I thought increasing speed = increasing the rate it clean the air.

Increasing the speed does increase the speed you clean air but with diminishing returns. Too slow also no suction though. It's an s curve.

You double the speed doesn't mean you clean an effective twice the air. It's a bit less, but still more than the initial speed.

So it's probably better to have two cadr 300 purifiers running at half power than stress one purifier at 600 it's max capacity if they are the same price. That's the case with Xiaomi.

But if there's haze in the room, I will blast max.

Edit: I notice the higher the speed the more likely the air will leak the sides, through the air seal etc

I bought Medklinn Asens +60 and one for the car too, Medklinn autoplus. When I sent them for servicing after using them for a year, I'm charged a minimum of RM150 for asens and RM105 for autoplus just for basic servicing. You better ask the sales person how much the company will charge you for servicing before you fork out money to buy any air purifier. I wished I hadn't bought them. Servicing them alone cost RM255 each year which is nearly 20% of their purchase price vmad.gif

Many air purifier makers will state very high CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) to promote their products.
Some even exaggerate the spec sheets and claim they can remove 100% contaminants.
Just look at the size of the air purifier & how big is the filter in use? Is it really logic to match the CADR & claims they made?
Better do some studies not by just listen to what they claim.

For CADR you can check at http://www.ahamdir.com/aham_cm/site/pages/...boutThisProgram
AllergyUK also certify air purifier for what the manufacturer claims http://www.allergyuk.org/products-and-serv...g/air-purifiers
