My complaints about Lee Mason

We have had Mason a few times and he's never given us anything.

He booked Lucas for diving a few years back at Stoke and it was a blatant penalty. Gave Stoke everything that game.
He sent 2 of our players off at Fulham. Was awful that game.
Sent Mascherano off at Portsmouth
Huth stepped on Suarez' chest last year too, he didn't book him nor give us anything yet Huth got no punishment as Mason said he seen it and decided not to act.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Dec 27 2013, 09:32 PM)
Players to players, strength to strength and also in depth quality, we need to admit Liv is still behind Mancity, Chelsea, Arsenal (in term of free flowing football).

Mancity performance yesterday is somehow at their norm level, but for Liv is hitting top gear now this year.

If this year is only the chance to make it, then Liv as a club is not doing good progress in rebuilding a top 4 contenders.
Good team doesn't build for one year but for years of dominating on top.

Why can't Liv become stronger and settled next season?  blink.gif
But fear other more stronger. The mentality is wrong to start with.
You may call me pessimistic on Liv as title contender, but such fear is even a worst pessimism.  smile.gif

You want Liv become like Blackburn did a wonder one year, won the PL title and then relegated after that?
Blackburn capitalised on many team on transition period, and won the PL at that time.

Yes, Liv progress is there to be seen, but as seen from the table, another draw (not even loss), can see Liv out of top 4 coming to the new year.
Stay in course for top 4 is more a realistic target. Anything near the top is the bonus.

The one can be stronger and having a say how the top or top 4 changing shape is always the one with financial power.
You can have good manager, coaching staff, many talented promising youth product, without financial power, there is a limit how far the team can go.
The team will be more stronger will be the team with financial power. (I don't mean to lookdown on the team or which team, but this is the modern football reality).

So the worry is about whether Liv will have financial power or strength to compete as well as good players around to compete on the top. But not about other whether they are more settled or not.

As said, EPL has 38 games, it is half way through only.
Don't rule out MU into the top 4 pack as well, it can be quite "crowded" to get a top 4 spot as well.   smile.gif
Chelsea under Mourinho is capable to win many 1-0 match and Chelsea won the league before with many 1-0 result.
*

I giggle when I see this.
We are not playing flowing footie?  Did you watch the games we TROUNCED Spuds and Norwich?
And the game last night with MancsC?  How did the goal come? How did the non offside goal come?
Is that not free flowing for you?
Rome is not built in one day....we may end up in 5th place in the next few days. BUT have you seen the 2nd half fixtures?
All but MancsU are to come to Anfield. We have not been doing too shabby at our place.

On financial power and success, pls read Dortmund.
Next our finance may not be that of the Oil Sheiks and Ruskie mafia, but FSG has shown substantial power without being too
extravagant when unnecessary.
Where have you been the last week?  biggrin.gif  Suarez signed for 200k p week. Even Arsenal does not pay that sort of salary.

We are not ruling out there are many competitors in the fray this year.
Neither should we be so pessy that we rule ourselves out with dogged poverbial pessy and spoil the joy of being a Liverpool Supporter.

I did not say Liv has no financial power.
I said financial power make a big difference whether whoever team can rise. (As dillon pointed the rise of blue or Spurs or whoever that may mean Liv has tougher competition)
So bigger stadium, better merchandised and business plan that build the financial power is very crucial for Liv further progress.
So if Liv can build up financial power, there is needless to fear other can rise or not, or whether they settled down or not.

I had seen how Liv from a dominating force in First Division and Europe, then down to the packing order behind ManUtd, Arsenal, Chelsea, now even behind Mancity.

Complacency. Happy what they had, while other busy developing their team and financial power, Liv was status quo.
Once they get pass, you have mountain to climb or may not able to climb back as well.

That's why I repeated said, don't be overjoyed until the last match of the season.
There is too much false dawn in the past already.

Yes, currently there is much joy for supporters to see on top before Christmas and even 4th after Boxing day. But we have to remind ourself that this team is still far from a title contender, many improvement need to be made.

I did say Liv has good progress so far, just my pov that the progress is not until the title contender material or not yet reach that level. smile.gif
Is there any wrong that my pov that Liv is not a title contender yet?
While if my view Liv is not a title contender yet, why it can spoil the joy of other supporter? Even myself glad to see current Liv standing and progress, despite I view Liv is not a title contender (or yet).
I also giggle why cannot agree to disagree on title contender issue, and how it can spoil other joy. smile.gif

You think you are the only one here who have seen the 3 European Cups and 19 titles? rolleyes.gif

A real fan would probably mention the tragedies of Hillsborough and Heysel. nod.gif

iTS not your realistic view of a non title contender but
Every step is met by a jab from you. You certainly don't come across as a optimistic fan.

A fan would welcome the troughs as well as the crests of supporting Liverpool FC.

As for the other clubs managing their finances while Liverpool was complacent, all they did was sold out to oil shieks and Ruskie mobster.Call that management?
I suggest the history and culture is more than that. That's why MancsC and Crapski will always crave for the culture that we have and they don't inspite
of their recent triumphs dominated by easy financing.

at this rate of football we have achieved so far, it's no longer for a place for a struggling player who need to find he feet, physical, fitness match... it may yes last season.. coz br know this is the best year he can get maximum point..he wont let it down by these kind of problematic player.. this is what he do it rite now on agger, kelly, aspas, allen, flanagan, sterling etc... some may survive and some still praying for their luck

The amount of discontent after a loss is staggering.

If we do win at the end, I am sure some will say "I knew it". Tune changes every now and then

Don't forget all the tough schedule is off. Can we catch up? Why the f**k not? Do the maths!

Maths.... biggrin.gif

36 points at half season. 72 points season pace for sure. Most years that is 4th place or better.
We are 8 points better than last season at this point. 11 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses.
We now host Spurs, Everton, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, New Castle, Swansea and are away to United and Southampton as far as top 10 sides.
This makes us perfectly poised for 12 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses.
Lets move on. We will reinforce in January. FSG will realize the need. Relax!!!!!!!

"Mourinho told reporters: "Suarez lost a duel with (Cesar) Azpilicueta, Azpilicueta has the ball and is leaving the box with the ball and now he's doing an acrobatic swimming pool jump to try to get the penalty, because he's so clever because he's in the area where the Liverpool supporters behind. But (referee Howard) Webb is 10 metres away. And I think the only mistake Webb did was not to give him a yellow card.''

For the first time, I find myself calling Jose 'stupid'.

Etoo was dirty.

And he was most of the game.

And Suarez only has himself to blame for setting a reputation for diving.
*
But that's how games are won sometimes, dirty.
Look at our players after the Etoo challenge on Hendo after 2mins, NO ONE came to crowd the ref!
That was a RED card foul.
Maybe that's why we don't get squat from them refs.

Eto is damn bloody dirty, even the John Terry also made an attempt against Suarez and it was clearly a Penalty, but Howard Webb pretended  nothing happened. I was wondering when was our last game which we won the game and the ref was Howard Webb?? This ref seem used to against us, especially when facing Man U! But honestly the third gaol really was Skrtel error, I don't know why he used to stand behind the opponent and give the rival the advantage to win the ball!!!!!!
*
IMO its not Skrtel's fault. Sakho should have blocked off the cross from Oscar.

Watched Football Today and they showed how the rough house tactics was pretty clearly planned by the Chelsea management on Suarez.

We pretty much need a high class partner for Suarez to take the heat off him. Sooner or later with the continual ignorance of the refs, he is gonna blow a big one. Maybe that's also a tactic employed by Mouthrinho for Suarez, to agitate him and get him banned again

Sturridge cant come back soon enough and another top class attacking midfielder in Jan please.

But if we did notice Mignolet he has good concentration before and after the goals which is great. though some minor mistakes lead to the Eto goal but i still consider that 50-50 chance which Eto took really well and Skrtel was guilty of ball-watching.

At least its safe to say our Goal are in GOOD HANDS because Mignolet though nothing spectacular about him but he is a definite upgrade from Reina. no wonder he quickly wanted to go somewhere
*
On the 2nd goal, there were TWO opportunities to prevent that happening

a) Agger preventing the 1st cross
b) Sakho preventing the final cross

These two defenders were too far from from the attckers thus allowing the balls to get pass them, especially the Sakho tackle.
When the ball is allowed into the 6yd area, its VERY difficult to defend against.
However, Skirtel should have been in front of Etoo all the time.

FA should BAN Webb............send him to the outer regions of Irish football together with the MancsC game linesman.
