while we are atm top of the table, i wanna remind the fans here, to keep their emotions and expectations in check. 2 very tough away games against 2 teams who are very very beastly at home. mancity this season has been scoring goals for fun, esp at home while jose has nt yet lost at home at the bridge. for me. i will b happy with 2 draws. why if u ask me, i think the 5-0 at spurs was more of a tactical battle where avb's persistence on a defensive high line brought way too many problems esp against players like hendo n suarez n sterling who likes to run behind defenders. the scoreline was way too flattering. i dont see mancity and chelsea doing such blunders esp with defenders who are slower in pace (demichelis,terry).

i wanna say, our defense hasnt look good all season apart from the first few games. cardiff caused us all sorts of problems with direct balls into the box n as mentioned, skrtel was lucky nt to gv away penalties which on another day, would hv been given.

while we always talk about the likes of the "big 4" with ars chels manc manu, dont forget everton who are unbeatan in 10 and newcastle who is on the up. never count out manu n spurs might just turn their season around with today's win against soton.

so, if things dont go our way in the next 2 fixtures, we can easily drop to 5th-7th depending on goal difference and hence i hope everyone to keep their head IF we lose.

also. dont be overly happy thinking suarez will still be with us next season after signing an extension to his contract, if he continues to perform like this till the end of the season and do decently in the WC, i see RM, PSG, and Juve, maybe even ars and chel come knocking for his signature. and if RM fail to win any trophies, the pressure will be on perez to splash again and i dont see luis turning RM down. if we are in top4, n RM comes calling, i'll say its only a 20% chance hes staying.

then again, for now, lets all enjoy the show he and the team put on for us. it has been brilliant. come to think of it, imagine if we did actually turn up against hull and won there. we would definitely be top for xmas.

Oh yeah, the game against Cardiff, we wouldn't have accepted anything less than a win anyway. The real tests are the next 2 very tough away games. I'd be content with 2 points from these 2 games. Anything more is a bonus

Since the absence of Stevie G, Hendo has take on the extra responbilites and showing some of his true potentials.

With his two goals in the 3-1 victory over Cardiff City at Anfield, Liverpool striker became the first player to score 10 goals in a calendar month in the Barclays Premier League.

The Uruguayan's opening strike at Anfield took him clear of Mark Viduka's record of eight goals for Leeds United in April 2003. Suarez then struck another to be the first player to reach double figures inside a month. The double also meant he becomes the first player to score at least two goals in four consecutive Barclays Premier League matches.


With two more Barclays Premier League fixtures to come in December, against Manchester City on Boxing Day, then away to Chelsea on 29 December, Suarez could extend his record even further.

We may not win the league and honestly we shouldn't win it on paper. But this season presents a rare opportunity because all the top clubs are going through changes. City and the mancs have new managers, Chelsea are struggling to produce their best football, Spurs just sacked AVB and that leaves Arsenal who like us didn't go through drastic changes over the summer. It's not so much with us making tremendous leaps (tho we have been making great progress) but more towards the other clubs dropping their standards due to instabilities and etc.

Obviously there's still a lot of football left to play and it's asking a lot for the team to maintain their form. But the team must realize that the other tops clubs have really done us a favor by dropping points every now and then. In a way, the situation is similar to when Rafa's Valencia won the league twice when both Barca and Real were going through major structure changes. This doesn't happen often and the team must realize that they need to capitalize from it.

If we can get something out of the next 2 matches, then it may open some doors in January. Doors that have been remained shut for years. To remain competitive up to now is massive. The last time we saw ourselves in similar circumstance was the 08-09 season where we finished 2nd. If BR can sell it to FSG and convince other top players to join our ranks, we may just be be able to mount serious challenge for the ultimate top prize. We're doing well but to win the league you really need to be on another level - a level which i feel is within our reach if we can dig in and reinforce in January.

Ya, one point from Etihad is a Big achievement.

Actually the margin is very thin only, draw at Etihad, can easily see Liv from top become 4th on Boxing day.
Another draw with Chelsea can see Liv out of top 4.

Glad to see Liv on top going into Christmas, but don't overjoy it, the race is half way, long to finishing line.
Top 4 is the target of the season.
Not something easy to achieve, it is so competitive this year in the table, the difference in points is so little from top to 5th.

The only way to get point from Etihad is to score or outscore against Mancity.
It is hard to imagine Liv can get a clean sheet.

Gutted. Sterling was miles onside and it was a poor decision from the linesman. We could have been 2 up. Also, he missed and absolute sitter. Joe Hart was MOM which says a lot. No shame in thus defeat. We tried to match City pound for pound and went down fighting to a team that averages more than 4 ggoals a game against visiting teams.

Players like: kolo, moses, alberto, aspas,cissokho

Are not the standard of a team that competing for champions league. Agree BR signed them but we've got no choice as we are not able to attract good players last summer.

Once we are in TOP 4 coming summer, will be able to attract good players, and need ship out the above players.
