For me, HoN was really fun until D2 came out

Hon was dominating the scene earlier because there were no other competitor except for D1 which has old engine/graphics

But HoN started lose its fun when they start introducing too many new heroes because that is where they earn part of their income

D2 was way more balance in a sense that it doens't throw new heroes at you too frequent and gives you time to get used to the current meta

We just have to see how is Strife in the future for now. The current MOBA kings are D2 and LoL in Malaysia. HoN is dropping real fast worldwide except for Thailand

i just cant cope with d2 gamespeed... for me i love HON interface and graphic the most. new heroes is good what, i don't find that were one of the downside. as for LOL, the cartoonish artstyle just not mystyle. i dont know why there's so many people love LOL. in my opinion, HON could consider as the best MOBA for now. strife just another make over of LOL with few add on such pet system. LOL lover should love it.. waiting for heroes of the storm. =)

HoN was dominating earlier because back then, it was Dota2. before icefrog bails that is. i for one actually likes a lot of HoN original heroes as well as their remakes and hybrid of old dota heroes.

yeah undeniably the MOBA kings atm if judged by number of players are LoL and D2. i think HoN is at least in 3rd place but not really sure about that. quite a shame since it's loss is basically in a popularity contest, not quality.

On topic, i think i might play a couple more of Strife but i dont really think its my cup of coffee. although i hope many will like it and give S2 the cash they desperately need lol

I personally feel that HoN has a higher re-playability value as compared to Strife.

I have been playing HoN everyday since Year 2009 close beta...

well since the 2 have quite a different concept with different market so i dont think one will replace the other. im just worried that in the long run strife will financially benefit S2 more and they find no reason to dedicate their resources to keep HoN alive. they did a great job at HoN but in the end if it doesnt bring in money then whats the point? i hope this wont happen but S2 can be a real dick at times.

PS: S2 killed HoN when they introduced EA heroes, introduced the LoL style hero rotation system. HoN is much more competitive than LoL, locking away heroes kills new blood into the competitive scene. They realized it too late, by that time the NA/EU comp scene already spiraled down.

G.arena still does the hero lock if I'm not wrong. Haven't played the game since rift wars introduced. Hero locking just doesn't help the competitive scene grow at all, all it does is let them earn more short term money, since HoN is not as casual friendly as LoL.
