Used rounded edge drop wont break? Some brands come with rounded edge and user still complaint chipping. But the oleophobic coating is well admired by many.

Ok.. here's how...

U need to understand the hardness of the materials. Most so called glass sp are rated as 8-9H pencil hardness, but if u convert to mineral hardness, it's only 6H.
As for knife, scissors (metal), the hardness is 5H. Thats y in the demo, its unable to scratch it.

However, most of us guys will put the phone in the pocket where other harder minerals like sand debris might goes in and in long term, it might cause tiny scratches or hair line scratches to the glass sp. So if you wanted a sp that will able to withstand even sand, then wait for the Sapphire SP which is coming soon to us, probably in March or April.

What u mentioned is half correct and half wrong.

Yes, if you are looking for a budget glass sp, u might as well go for the cheapest. Why go for those mid priced brand when all of them probably made by the same factory in China? It just a branding. Same goes for those made in Korea. If you notice, even the branded case such as SGP, Rinke, etc which are made in Korea, all looked exactly the same. Same goes with glass sp. A manufacturer which regularly send us samples told us that they are the manufacturer for few branded brands in Korea.

But if you are looking for quality one, of course you have few options. Some brand like Armorz, Imos (that i have known) have a higher quality of QC since they only make small quantities. (However, Armorz demand is way higher that they are looking for manufacturer which able to do mass production now). Smaller quantities means it's easy to control the QC for the product thus offering a more stable and higher quality products. But of course, this will means a higher price too. But what you pay is what u get.

Ya.. i saw some too... i just challenge them on using firecrackers instead of a C4 and none of the wholesaler willing to do that... haha...

why should they do that knowing it will scratch the sp? the hardness of sand is higher than glass so its definitely going to scratch it. Only the sapphire glass sp can withstand sand. (according to brand owner, need to verify it).
You mentioned most people wont put hammer/knife in their pockets, but do use use sand paper to clean your screen?
Depending on how u define gimmicks, the tests done are to show u how strong it is against impacts, in case of accidents, it will still protect it. But again, it will still depends on how it's done. Cos most of the test shown are done by manufacturer and not sellers. So, we dont even know if its really that good.

However, for those we are selling, all tests are done in our office to confirm what manufacturer claim are legit. Otherwise, we wont be selling it too...

I agreed with u on this.. thats y we dont keep those mid priced sp. instead, we go for those with premium quality with a good oleophobic coating. At least it have better resistance on fingerprints and stains, plus ease of cleaning it. for those who dont mind the finger print and just want protection, then go for the cheapest option available, forget about those mid priced range.

And for those who wants a scratch proof against sand, then go for the sapphire glass. Just prepared to pay for the premium price due to the cost of manufacturing.

then you should look only for Armorz and IMOS... these 2 oleophobic is by far the best liao... (Armorz we do come across one complain on the oleophobic, but for IMOS, we never had that issue)
