Hi, anyone here can share their memory (RAM) usage on MBPr while idling and light usage?
My MBPr late 2013 (8GB RAM) showing around 3.5GB to 4GB usage while idling (doing nothing) just open Finder.
While on light usage (downloading from safari and app store) the memory usage is almost max. 7.8GB

I use 2 Macbook currently.

1. 13" rMBP mid 2014 (8GB RAM). Opening a few programs, the RAM is fully used. 7.98GB. Most of time, the performance is not good. I don't know why13" rMBP is so unresponsive.

2. 15" common MBP mid 2012 (16GB RAM, using SSD). Even 15GB RAM is used, the performance is excellent.

My MBP is almost 3 years old and the Applecare will expire on this December. I wish to do replacement for a new battery even though the current battery is still working fine. The current battery can last about 5 hours and 30 minutes. Do you think Apple Service Centre allows me to do so?

*The reason for replacement: A new battery always last longer smile.gif

AppleCare does not include warranty for battery, of course you can change the battery and Apple Service Centre will be more than happy to accept your enquiry for changing the battery with a premium price.

Be prepared to pay for around RM700-800 for the battery replacement

Thanks for the info.

hello guys, I plan to sell my heavy 15" cMBP mid 2015 and change it to a light weight 13" rMBP. Do you think how much I can see my Macbook? Following is the spec:

2.6Ghz i7 quadcore processor
16GB RAM
Two Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD installed on it (about RM800+ for each) + original 750GB HDD
1GB DDR5 Nvidia GT650M
15" standard glossy display
2 original Apple power adapter
warranty is going to expire on December this year

I have noticed that 15" rMBP price increased couple of weeks ago. Will this help me put my MBP selling price in better position? I'm not sure about current Malaysia MBP market price. Do you think it's reasonable to sell it at RM5500? FYI, I purchased it about RM10k two years ago. Thanks.
