Every apple product have serial number, you can check the warranty status at apple support website.
*
When I check with the website, it ask me to submit proof of purchase.
It wrote cannot ascertain my warranty period.

So took a photo and they took 2 days to update the warranty coverage. rclxms.gif

most stores in klang valley i see only sell the speck casing. i wonder if it's good?  hmm.gif

The used unit that I bought comes with this satin speck casing. To me it provides the feeling of robust and high grade materials being used to protect the laptop for long term usage.
However, I took it out 2 days ago because it's heavier and the temperature in the palm rest area becomes unbearable. (I read online it somehow contributes to warmer temperature)

Hello all RMBP users, can I know what is the CPU temperate at ideal use? I feel my macbook pro overheats easily. The HWM keeps alerting on CPU core reaching extreme temperature (72 - 80). Can feel the palm rest area hot. My only option is to bump the fan (with smcfan) to 6500rpm for me to use comfortable for a long time.

Any opinion? Do I need to replace the thermal paste inside? It's 2012 Year end model.

Maybe need to dust it with a blower...

Is the vent below the laptop's screen?

Mine (13" late-2013 rmbp) runs at around 46~56C at ideal normal use.
as ionstorm said, maybe dust accumulating inside the body/fan.
Or there could be many other reasons leh...
e.g
- browser (Chrome makes my mbp hot easily, but Safari stays cool throughout),
- flash (flash plugin overheats mine easily, so maybe can change youtube videos to html5 video)
- boosting default min fan speed (imo the default fan speed (13" default is 1300rpm iirc) is a bit slow, which makes it heat up easily, and I run 2000rpm as default)
- discrete gpu? (is yours a 15"? maybe can turn off the discrete gpu if not using discrete graphics, using gfxCardStatus),
etc etc
*
Thanks for all the tips. I will try to switch to Safari browser and see if there's improvement.
My current fan speed is set to 5,000 RPM at normal surfing mode. My mac is a 13" model so it doesn't have discrete graphics.

Hi. I use that 3 software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) a lot for my daily works at office. For me, those software are almost the same like Windows version eventhough they are Office 2011 version. I'm using Office 365 btw.
Heard that Office for Mac will be upgraded in 2015. So Office 365 will get the updates, as long as the license is still not expired.

Does the office application supports retina display? I've installed all the patches and they still looks ugly with low resolution menus. sweat.gif

Apple cannot include GST into their price. Part of the GST requirement is that product must be shown in retail price and the chargeable GST separately. Therefore, I think Apple product prices will increase further.

Currently using 13" Late 2012 Retina 256 Spec. How much you guys reckon I would need to top up?

Have a 27" at home. Tried to connect before and it works but somehow the Ducky MKB cannot function when plugged into Mac's USB. Any idea?

Singapore still retain the prices. Just fly to Singapore and make sure to claim the GST refund.

Air ticket both ways + rMBP + Claim back GST is cheaper than Malaysia Macbook price
Heck, didnt claim back the GST also still cheaper than Malaysia price sweat.gif

I think sooner or later they'll adjust. We got to accept this is due to currency exchange rate issue. In fact it's not limited to Apple alone. All imported products are affected. sweat.gif
