QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Jan 2 2014, 07:12 PM) I feel like it's a photoshop myth. Why? because no one mentioned about it after 13th December. And no NEW pictures are thr.. just those 2 famous pictures. And mostly none of use even the ones with latest stock can find that difference. If so was the case, thr should be more news :S Someone said they did compare the 310k batch & 311k batch. They are not the same, but no evidence given so if its true or not idk la. Couldn't care much anyways |

QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Jan 2 2014, 07:22 PM) What I read on XDA. Yeap couldn't bother much with this issue. I dont know mine is which & I dont really care because it works flawlessly hahaha. Its not like my previous phone has a gigantic speaker that I blast everyday. Lets be honest, if you listen music on your phone you probably will plug in a headphone or in-ear rather than using the phone speakers. Ringtone is pretty loud so not really an issue for me.'Considering several people in this thread have a phone with bigger speaker holes and tighter casing around the buttons (including my replacement which has all of these changes), it's clearly not a hoax. Why would I need to take pictures to show the miniscule differences between my old and new phone before sending my defective Nexus 5 back for RMA? You know why I didn't? Because bigger speaker holes ARE NOT IMPORTANT. My defective phone was returned because of a faulty modem/LTE issue. I don't care that my phone has bigger speaker holes, that's such a stupid thing to focus on. If my replacement had small speaker holes but still sounded perfectly fine that's all that matters. If my replacement was a DAY 1 launch Nexus 5, but worked perfectly, I'd still be happy because if everything is working correctly, that's all that matters. People who are RMAing or won't get the phone unless it has bigger holes are just being foolish. And, the fact that the bigger holes are not showing up on ALL phones means that it is NOT DIFFERENT hardware. They probably just tweaked a couple of variables on 1 or 2 machines to correct a problem in a batch in 1 of their MANY lines of production. If all of the rest of their manufacturing lines were operating properly, there's no need to change anything, and no need to make the holes bigger for the rest of the phones. It could be that the newer version with bigger holes is only coming from 1 of their production lines because THAT PARTICULAR line was screwing up and needed to be tweaked. Seriously, people need to stop focusing on speaker holes like it's somehow some big deal' But then I understand la, buyer ma...sure want the best of everything haha. I would probably ask the same thing as well if I am buying the phone. "Hey, which shop has nexus 5 with the new 'tweaks' ". Want the best deal ma |

QUOTE(mrlakml @ Jan 5 2014, 08:55 PM) No way to fix it & if its not too serious then dont really need to RMA it because backlight bleeding is common for IPS displays. I am not sure for smartphones but for laptops yes, its a common issue for few models out there & even if you RMA it, there is no guarantee the new unit will not have this problem (it could even be worst or better, depends on your luck). I am not sure about smartphones though |

QUOTE(faiz293 @ Jan 6 2014, 09:42 AM) BTW, just want to let you guys know that I never felt any stupider than after I have this N5 on hand. (I was using iphone before) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508292everything seems very new. Maybe because i tried to learn about rooting, ROM flashing, kernel and all. All the stuffs, acronyms, terms, and everything is new to me. I spent hours to read the forums in XDA. But the more I read, the more I don't understand and the more new things that I encountered. So, anyone have any suggestion where should I start? Any book to refer to, or XDA is the only recommended place to go? My ultimate goal is to be able to understand everything that people said when they are discussing about their rooted phone. CHEERS! |

Comparing neo hybrid with ultra hybrid:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Here are some points for those who are deciding between both: - Both feels about the same size, a bit bulky but not seriously bulky. Without the casing I can use the phone with 1 hand without a problem but with the casing (either neo or hybrid) its kinda hard for me to use with 1 hand. - Neo hybrid has a dedicated buttons that comes in direct contact to the nexus buttons. This gives a better tactile feedback compare to ultra hybrid. - Ultra hybrid is cheaper + free screen protector compare to neo hybrid which cost more without a free screen protector. - Although ultra hybrid has a transparent back, it gets dirty with fingerprints fast so beware if you hate fingerprints. - Ultra hybrid material feels much thicker thus looking like its offering better protection but neo hybrid isnt that bad either. The TPU material might be a bit thinner but the plastic bezel goes around it so its isnt that bad. - Neo hybrid feels sexier imo, but that depends on individual. Reason why I bought neo hybrid rather than keep using my ultra hybrid is because I wanted to get a better tactile feedback on the phone buttons & also the ultra hybrid is kinda slippery to my hands. I was hoping neo hybrid would give me a better grip but thats not the case either, its back is made of a very smooth TPU material & it slides off my hand as easily as ultra hybrid. QUOTE(nick67 @ Jan 6 2014, 07:55 PM) Yes so dont bend it lol, but once you put it on the casing its pretty solid. Actually its much harder to remove the neo hybrid compare to ultra hybrid. I dont see how it would break unless you plan to remove the casing everyday. |

QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Jan 6 2014, 08:15 PM) Thanks for the review. I feel like getting ultra hybrid too. What do you say? ur using neo now... will u get back to ultra? or just keep on using neo. For me if I like them both equally is when I will use them both... so thinking whether to get ultra or will it be a waste of money for me. hmm. I need to wait for my glass sp to decide, scared neo hybrid wont fit because the "casing lip" is kinda tight so afraid it would affect the glass screen protector. If no problem I will stick with neo hybrid, I prefer to have good feedback when I click my buttons. With ultra hybrid it feels soft, sometimes I am not sure if I pressed the button already or not lol.Regarding the back surface being a bit slippery, I am thinking of getting a vinyl sticker & sticking it at the back. That should give a better grip to my hands. QUOTE(barbar554 @ Jan 6 2014, 08:17 PM) 3 people already break their screen, better dont take the risk |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Jan 6 2014, 08:23 PM) Ummm according to this... ummmmm the Ringke Fusion seem to be much bulkier than the Ultra Hybrid? I think... ummmm I don't mind sacrificing...ummm... some protection for less bulk because...ummmm because I like my Nexus 5 to be...umm slim and sexy.. p/s: Ummm I forgot something important that I...ummm might not prefer the Neo Hybrid...ummm it's due to it not having....ummm the transparent back...ummmm because I can see the NEXUS logo there |

QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Jan 7 2014, 12:46 AM) How much did it cost? I hope someone does a bulk for it soon so that we all can enjoy this case too. Can arrange, but now you can get it for RM65 already so I doubt you can save much even if do a bulk. Plus bulk requires MOQ & I think its kinda hard to meet the MOQ for casing since everyone prefers different type of casing. If you want to save even more, you can buy second hand ones from forumers. |
