My question is, will the quality suffer because the signal goes thru a non 4K AVR? Or will the difference be negligible?

My Sony Blu-Ray 4K player does have 2 HDMI outputs. One for video and one audio. But now I'm just using the  one into the AVR that handles both video and audio. If I use one HDMI2.0 straight to TV, and the other to AVR, won't the synchronisation be a little off?

It won’t be off

Hey guys anyone running a dedicated home theater? what time of soundproofing did you guys do?

I was thinking of adding another dry wall with framing ( but thinking wood or normal aluminum studs) anyone have done it before?
*
If you plan to have double layer of wall, is good to have air gap to really prevent sound from passing through. Never use aluminium type of frame, it will vibrate. There is almost no way to sound proof 100%. Is how much you can reduce

Thanks - Room inside another room, could do as well. I would like to do a DIY project. So lets see . I really hope to get by with Wood framing with insulation material fiber and dry wall.
*
With wood framing and fiber can reduce the sound but not completely

Any idea if i want to go for a 7.2.2 sound setup, what brand and model is the best to go for? The one that is most valuable for money. Budget 20-30k. Thank you.
*
Q-acoustics is the best value for money. Than Yamaha AVR. JVC projector and JL audio subs.

Best you go listen to the speakers. Everyone has different taste 😂 for me Klipsch is too bright to my taste.

Stylelaser and Desa Home have a lot of options to demo.
*
Klipsch is ok for home theater. For stereo is probably not so nice to listen.

Try to check out Acoustic System in Amcorp Mall. High chance you get better price than anywhere else on Yamaha product. Go look for Mr Lim.

Dear Sifus,

Just wondering home theatre system that directly ordered from US amazon shipped to Malaysia usable in terms of the US electrical plug and voltage different from Malaysia plug? If I use the international adaptor, will the US speaker with the electrical plug usable in Malaysia as Malaysia plug is different from US plug. Thank you.
*
Is not advisable as US plug the live and neutral is opposite of U.K. plug
