Hi sifus, Have an issue with my Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V383 surround settings.
I've used YPAO to calibrate my 5.1 speakers.

My problem is, during testing with Youtube surround videos, my front speakers will produce sound simultaneously with surround speakers during testing phase of surround speakers mode.
Front speakers is much louder than surround speakers as well.

During surround speaker test, I'm expecting other speaker to be silent and only surround speakers sound to be heard.

Please advise.

i have a new parametric equalizer and a calibrated mic in storage for the past 10 yrs i may set it up... but i have been procrastinating forever so wouldn't bet on it... 

anyone using A&S 800 soundbar system? saw the product but havent found any proper review done on that.. maybe someone can share their exp using it, if there is?

Guys... My receiver suddenly shutsdown after 2 seconds... Anyone know what problem this is??

I think my budget around a Samsung Q950, so stretch is 4k. Thanks for your advice. I think I will just go Kek Seng test and decide.

Unfortunately nothing much to share, I went to test it but it was open space and lack of testing songs etc. The promoter just played one song via BT and seems punchy with enough bass. I guess for this one just have to trust the reviewers.

Oh and AVR confirm much more expensive than sound bar.... Or rather AVR with good speakers give better sound, but less high tech for the same price. eg no dolby atmos almost same price range with sound bar.

I will go with Samsung Q950T. If Q950A review very good and price diff not more than 1k, I might consider.

Which AVR would be recommended ?

Just saying... why are 4K Blu-ray players so expensive in Malaysia? The SONY UHD UBP-X700 costs RM1399 on Lazada, yet I picked up an unused, open box meaning returned but completely new unit from eBay USA for US$110 (RM 460) plus delivery RM105. No taxes as under RM500.

And on top on this, SONY Blu-ray players are all Made in MALAYSIA. So if the player needs repair, it can be done easily here.

The player works on 12v. Plug is 110-240v capability. Just need adapter to fit 2-pin plug.

I bought the 90cm stands. Or will be. Need to confirm with seller the delivery charge tomorrow first. There is an option to fill the stands with sand. But the speakers as I’ve just found out are quite small. They’re not even 1’ tall. They’re only 22cm in height! Maybe I’ll wait till I get the speakers to see what sort of stands will suit them best. But there aren’t very many “speaker stands” when doing a search. Same ones keep popping up on Lazada or Shoppee.

I live in an apartment, and my system is in the living room. There’s no sound proofing or anything... just window with the roaring of bikes on the ground floor. I’m 14 floors up. It’s only quiet now during MCO but come holiday time, the Mat Rempits will be zooming thru the night.

So overall I’m not too bothered to hear crystal clear sound from the surround speakers. Just watched the 4K The Fifth Element Blu-Ray the other night and was quite surprised at the quality of the sound even as with what I have now.

Thanks for your kind suggestion and advise, yeah I’m looking at V4A as well, my current amp is rx-667. I’m assuming everything right now should be an upgrade from last 10yrs tech.

On centre speaker, I’m thinking of upgrading as well, hope that can help in providing better clarity
