I'm using 6011 also, good power cables does makes a difference, you will notice the difference more in stereo music imho.
*
thumbup.gif How about the performance of 6011 for movie bro..did the avr get too hot

QUOTE(ktek @ Apr 5 2017, 04:35 AM)
for uk plug. most important is fuse. then connector material. then cable.
fuse very hard to judge without listening. so far i swap from old electrical appliances from family houses. a lot work.

thats why some sifu change to usa plug. no fuse required.
just choose material.

At first, I thought of A2060 also but sifu advised me to save up and go for a3060... as some got a2060 regretted then folk out $ again for a3060... I been through this for my past experience, so now I will try to go for the best that I could afford rather upgrading all the time which cost more at the end!

Yup very true bro agree with u

QUOTE(jdgobio @ Apr 6 2017, 10:38 AM)
How was the 5010 compared to your v681? It didn't sound good?

The changing cable thing sounds like snake oil to me coz if new power cables can make a difference they are implying that the original cables are defective/crap?
I don't really understand the logic of this power socket and power cable thingy. Is it just a placebo affect or there is some truth to it?
*
If compare with Yamaha rxv681 Marantz sr5010 definitely have clean sound but movie dialog too soft the background sound kinda too soft while Yamaha perform well on dialog actually although it sound abit noisy if compare to Marantz..other sr5010 user also feel the same problem like bro chachin...i didn't try different power cable on sr5010 while demo that day although the seller suggest upgrade the power cable if need better sound..i think Marantz sr5011 should not have this kind problem but try to demo first bro...

@bolded
Well I'm sorry bro if this sounds offensive, but that seller is full of shit then.

While I don't discard the fact that amps can sound different (because they measure differently, therefore they CAN sound different), but comparing your v681 which is situated in your home vs a 5010 in a shop is like comparing Indian curry to Mexican salsa. 2 different things yo!

What you hear in the seller's demo room is not what you will hear in your room. You mentioned dialogue being "soft", but can you be certain that the seller has actually corrected/calibrated the center channel levels? I mean, are the speakers even placed correctly in the first place?

It just sounds to me that the seller is purposely making the SR5010 sound bad and then say "get a better power cable, will improve sound". Wtf kind of advice is that?
That's like saying; if I need to cook nicer rice, I need to get a better rice cooker! Does that even sound logical?
*
Didn't sound offensive bro no problem im still learning.Yup agree with u bro maybe the seller trying to push the power cable too..but I demo both Yamaha rxv681 and Marantz sr5010 in the shop..he using klipsh speaker system..i think he didn't calibrate the room with supplied mic he just demo it..for newbie is really hard to understand what they are doing maybe after this with little experienced I can demand more from the seller when demo...

For my Atmos speakers, I bought Oxygen from Acoustique Systems (Amcorp Mall) in 2016. Can't remember exactly... around RM 10 to 12 per metre.

owh really? wat i mean actually rm1k solely for home theater set(not including shelf)  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

for example y DAV-DZ650K 5.1 DVD Home Theater System
*
Bro if u ask me I will suggest u to save up your money to buy better sound system..if u can save up money for 65 inch 4k tv sure u can do the same for sound system..at least save up money till 2k plus..htib speakers just will make your tv sound bigger nothing will improve there...good speaker will last u for long time...one of my relative bought cheap htib speaker brand Philips within a year the player is gone just wasting money if u ask me...if really hard to increased your budget follow brother James advised..

When you replied "not possible" and suggested to increase his budget much more... his answer "owh really" made me guess that either he is not willing to "wait and save" or already decided not to spend much much more or have some other reason. I do actually know of friends who budget around RM 6K, then spent around RM 4.5 K on the 4K TV leaving around RM 1.5 K for the entire All-In-One HT system... even after my advice to increase budget.

I am very sure that 100% everyone who wants HT do dream of a full high end system but each person have his/her reasons for the budget. I think he already knows the quality that can be obtained with that low low budget so I avoided suggesting any reasonable quality system costing around RM 5K.

Well... maybe... he will change his decision and go for much much better budget. Only he can decide as its his money.
*
Yup agree with u bro can't comment much still his money he have to decide...after spend about 1k for crap htib later within 1 year gone kinda waste of money actually..hehe still depends on buyer budget.. thumbup.gif

thanks for the reply though. appreciate dat. yeah.. i do understand the quality i will get later on with a such low budget..

So let say i can increase my budget(max 3k) what the setup u would recommend? like u said, good speaker last for long time.. could u suggest the value for money and worth setup?
*
Yup good speaker should last u long..
http://www.sony.com.my/electronics/speakers/ss-cs3 a pair should cost u 1.2k and yamaha rxv381 for 1.3k..this setup pretty decent last time with tight budget few sifu recommend me the same....later u can add a pair of bookshelf speaker when u have enough budget http://www.sony.com.my/electronics/speakers/ss-cs5 RM699 a pair.speaker cable RM10 per meter..the floorstander should give u good bass https://youtu.be/SEqu74U5Wn4 just showing you how it looks ..other sifu will give u more idea...
