What I would do disable Audyssey first, leave the levels and distance (delay) intact.

Now, EQ with minidsp + REW for your subs alone. After this is done, go back to Audyssey and EQ only the speakers by turning off the sub. Audyssey would tell you that there are no subs in your system and would set all your speakers to Large/Full Range. Let it do its thing, remember try to limit to the EQ to about 300hz unless you absolutely need to deal with some issues at the treble range (800hz and beyond).

Once Audyssey is done, turn on your subs, go back to the receiver and digitally bass manage them. Set all your speakers back to Small and select a crossover point (80hz is a good starting point, but play around between 60, 70, 90 and 100hz). Test a few stuff and see how you like your system.

Thanks Ben,

Yes that’s the plan generally. I’ll be redoing this early next week.

The weird thing is, at least on the app, when I set the system as no sub and run audyssey after the sub EQ, I was not able to set my LR as small and it was forced to be large.

Perhaps that’s normal and I can only change it to small after pushing the settings and turning on my subs after that and it would detect the sub, allowing me to change my LR to small.

I surely need to play around with the EQ more too on REW and to also understand each of those EQ functions better as the YouTube video by home teacher guru didn’t really go through each of them in depth.

But the general process is pretty straightforward now in my opinion thanks to the video.

Lastly, I would be lying if I said I’m not tempted to get a second sub after looking at the nulls at around 25-30 and 70-80 lol.

If someone is able to pay 80% of my pb2000 price and take it from my place, I won’t think twice to move to two sb3000 LOL *hint hint*

Two pb2000 is way too big and won’t be allowed in my place for sure....

I want slightly more bass from my surround spk, moreover i feel its slightly more detail surround sound or maybe its physiology effect

Having good positioning of the sub would give you balanced bass output for any sound which comes from any of your speakers as you won’t be able to localise them.

It’s kinda weird to hear that you’re basically experiencing “less bass output” for anything which comes out of your surround speaker.

As Long as you have a fair sub, no bookshelf speaker will be able to go as Low as it in general.

Just like others I think there’s something wrong with the config you have. Perhaps a rerun of your receiver’s room correction software might help, together with some repositioning of the sub?

I already lay the SPC flooring. Real wood, I did get quote using teak wood is way out of my budget. Also need to break all the tile, is a lot of work and very messy. Wife no allow.  sweat.gif
Yeah all conceal cable is running through conduit, I told them to use bigger conduit too so that the cable can be easy to pull out in the future.

Now I waiting shipment for the speaker, arrive next week I think. For receiver I also pre order the denon x3700h since 3600h no more release.

I can't find MY x3700h price anywhere yet. X3600 was about 6.5k.whats the price you were quoted for its successor?

Ooo. Ok la at least the price didn't increase again.

Only problem (for me) wirh the x3700 compared to x3600 is the lack of front hdmi port. Super useful while doing REW tests. Need to go for x4700 at minimum to continue having that zzzz.
