Remember what happened in Sept 2012? When everyone was glamoring for iPhone 5 before it was launch?
Some said AAPL could reach $1000 by year end (in 2012). Some even think it could be the cure for cancer... tongue.gif

buy or sell? got many good comments from western analysts wor
*
It's both.. BUY and SELL. You can't short this thing during IPO.
Just day trade it.. don't hold until it settles down. biggrin.gif
The pricing is kind high... around $60-$66 but I'm sure they'll run it up quick.

Maybe only after 1 or 2 weeks later, then the option chain will appears.

How the US tax structure?

If buy stock USD100, sell at USD200, profit USD100

then how much will kene tax if withdraw to MY?
*
If you are non-resident, you get to keep your capital gain of $100 (except for dividends, dividends must pay tax).

If resident, depending on your income level, it will be taxed accordingly.. also depending on whether it is long term (longer than 1 year) or short term (less than 1 year).

If you're Investor (as in not a Trader) in US shares.. just keep in long term (in USD). Don't withdraw (to MY) until you're ready to retire or unless if you really need the money badly.

Since AliBaba is going to the hot potato, the proxy play for it is also YHOO (getting a lot of dough too from the sale of some of their shares).
Watch for YHOO too here... tongue.gif

Sorry everyone, i'm wondering, anyone manage to fill in 1040 form and successfully claim back their tax?
If so what process did you go through?
How much did you manage to get back, is there a calculation for it?
E.g. Mail form 1040 back to USA?
Get back money as a cheque or cash in a mail?

Thanx.

Nowadays, US IRS uses direct deposit for refund.
I always get my refund back directly into my US bank (or any US-based financial institution that has a 'routing' number
and account number).

Anyone can withdraw money using their ATM card anywhere as long the ATM machine has linkage with their original bank using either the popular Cirrus or Plus network.

The question only become - how much the ATM fees will cost. You won't know until you try it.. brows.gif

Just go contrarian with these guys.

Also, just wait till Dr.Doom (Nouriel Roubini) or Marc Faber says everything is fine, then it is time to sell everything. biggrin.gif

why china company always manufacture shoes?
*
Nowadays... they make everything, including iPhones. biggrin.gif

Well, the point is we "investors" must be very careful with those small caps companies esp. the ones from China.
They don't have a lot of check and balances in place and accounting standards are different there.

They can report everything is fine to the foreign investors.. but then inside stuff are very different. sweat.gif

The rise of China...
Why Malaysia still dont want to take this opportunity like what SG did?
*
Malaysia? I think they did.. "attracted" a lot of fly-by-night companies a few years ago.

Take a look at the Bursa section. Lots of players got burned by those "rejects" from China but were approved by Bursa anyway and listed in the secondary market. 18-24 months later.. all kaputs or failed to satisfy Bursa reporting requirement.. then suddenly PN17. tongue.gif

Let's watch what happens next week..
Don't chase this baby..let the big boys play with it first.

Also, I noticed my last block of XPP (2x FXI) China stuff just got sold when it drops to 64.
Something isn't right again with China... first it was internet, now financials sector.

So, be careful with anything related to China here... even if it is big cap.
No one (foreigners) can actually own the actual stock of a company in China even their shares are listed in NYSE/Nasdaq.
Only proxy contracts for earnings and dividends only.
