Yeah, some people don't share their settings and trade secrets haha, can't do anything about that haha
As for indoor shooting, it will be hard using just the kitlens, still, its not impossible if you know what you are doing. For example, you can try to position your subject closer to a light source; or you can simply use spot metering to get an "artistic" shot (not all photos have to be properly exposed)

Great way of avoiding messy or irrelevant backgrounds during cosplay

My noob comments:
- can try and make the light rays less uniform, so that it looks more natural; unless if you purposely wanted to make it look artificial
- can't really see what the model was doing, is that a handphone or mirror? Don't really get the meaning of the photo, unless again if you wanted it to be abstract in the 1st place haha
- The model should reveal a bit of the leg so that the whole thing doesn't look like a huge erection (Sorry for yellow-minded haha, but it does look like it ). Its not easy to spot this kind of mistakes unless you thoroughly check your photo right after taking them; that way you can make the necessary corrections on-the-spot

I think giving the background some more Gaussian Blur will greatly separate the model from the background
