Rooted my phone last weekend 6 months pf owning thia phone  Damn.  It's awesome.

Followed polarzbearz's guide. Easy enough,  except the waiting part to download all those stuff. Thanks,  polarzbearz!  Now damn itchy to try ROMs. Using cyanogenmod right now.

I backed up using Helium,  and after rooting,  Helium said can't find the backup data after I transfered from my pc to the phone. Thank god for cloud servers. Except my Reaper's game progress.. Sigh.  No pain,  no gain.

Finally I can have that 2g/3g toggle on my notification drawer.  Wanted that so much.  Wonder why Google don't make it as default toggle.

Anyone tried purify rom 4.4.2 ?

i see, gonna try cause i see from xda purify 4.4.2 + semaphore 1.8.8 can get 5 hrs SOT.

change from PA rom to Purity. Very2 satisfy with it.

i bought it in jan last year .. back glass crack , power button not responsive i need to press it more than 2 times to turn on the screen .. and lastly .. i abuse my n4 battery until KONGG not even 1hr screen on time .. pffff

I just went to LG Service Center(Ipoh Branch) this morning, drop by my Nexus 4 over there to replace my Power Button and Camera Hardware... I guess I'm gonna need wait 1-2weeks like that.. Will update you guys see how long my case gonna take. Meanwhile, might grab a new toy.

Just an update to you guys. The Front Screen Replacement now cost RM394 instead of RM360. Effective couple days ago, the lady at Service Center check online tell me. polarzbearz

What to Wipe in TWRP

If you are switching ROMs (changing from one ROM to a completely different one) then you should perform a factory reset. A factory reset wipes data and cache (which includes dalvik cache).

Yes! Sometimes i'll just get so fed up waking up late, looking at my phone with 30% left where the 70% had already sucked dry by multiple unavoidable wakelocks caused by Google. Even thou a reboot can solve it, but I don't have time to charge it. Sometimes have to survive the day with 30% of battery when there's no chance for me to access any socket.

An iPhone however doesn't cause so much wakelocks even 4G is on. Therefore IMHO iPhones are for people who don't have the time nor want to spend the effort to bother about their phone. Apple just made life easier for their users.

Somehow, recently I bought the new Moto G, my feeling toward the wakelock between Moto G and Nexus 4 are almost having the same, but the biggest difference is, my Moto G one night drop like 2-3% with all night WiFi on, while Nexus 4 if WiFi on can drop like madness. maybe because of KitKat 4.4 still young, because JB 4.2.2 can perform better battery life than it.

Some Androids, after undervolting, underclocking, single core mode will give godly screen on times. Example: Note 2

I still using the glass screen protector for 6 month nv get single scratch..nu glass protector..45 rm only.

Android as a whole are pretty infamous for this occasionally.

This is why I still use my iPhone 4 for push notifications for Twitter and Facebook.

Will probably sell the ip5 to get the Nexus 6, so.. The N4 is enough for daily use? No lag?

Maybe. As not all ROMs has the same Google Service built in.

For an example, Samsung TouchWiz ROMs have Samsung Push Notification Service wakelocks, therefore stock Samsung ROMs have more reliable push notification for me.

There was once I frozen some system services with TiBu, push notification died apart from calls, SMS and Whatsapp. The rest like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram went down.
