QUOTE(tnix @ Mar 11 2014, 11:06 PM) I try to avoid Hitachi as it lasted only 5 years. In between, I changed the capacitor once/twice until one day the compressor died exactly after 5 years of use.My old National air cond is still working perfectly fine for almost 14 years now. So to answer your question, I will go for ME. This post has been edited by abhipraaya: Mar 12 2014, 12:25 AM |

ME so far still never feedback on compressor died within a warranty period. My old National air cond is still working perfectly fine for almost 14 years now. So to answer your question, I will go for ME. But capacitor is only part of control the fans or compressor like a starter when switch on power, would be failure or can last more longer we not guaranty for non-inverter model, due to switch on & switch off during in cooler temperature. If suggests you Panasonic brand, there was not under matsushita group already, don't think they can delivered the same quality as National brand with red word. |

Last time the one 1HP a/c is almost 2k, and now < 1k you can get one unit. Telefunken TV in our previous house lasted 20 over years, doubt you can get such reliable unit now. My old National air cond is still working perfectly fine for almost 14 years now. So to answer your question, I will go for ME. My in-Law 2HP National non-inverter still running strong and no vibration or so.. This post has been edited by weikee: Mar 12 2014, 09:42 AM |

QUOTE(kimsim @ Mar 9 2014, 08:31 PM) just share my home outdoor unit for front and rear located side. Kimsim, the rear one of the room temp more cooling than the front unit. do you know why? cause due to the rear one direct blow out heat for in front unit, become heat exchange an issue. after blocked with plastic peace and solve out an issue. now only used at 25C good than enough like before set at 23C also feels very hot. that's why i was prefer those if you can find out more bigger size of outdoor unit to be solve out, does't feel cold enough. ![]() are both also Hitachi's ? I'm looking for one that has quiet outdoor compressor, as it will be sitting right outside the windows or my working area.. Do you have any recommendation ? |

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Mar 12 2014, 01:42 PM) Kimsim, Hitachi or ME for all look like same.are both also Hitachi's ? I'm looking for one that has quiet outdoor compressor, as it will be sitting right outside the windows or my working area.. Do you have any recommendation ? But make sure you buy inverter unit lah. When start up will hear some fan runing noise as a jet for full spinning. After while would be reduce to meet up internal Room temp, also variable speed for outdoor. For me is quite quiet, cause my outdoor to be place side by side of the window side. The rest like not inverter you want to good luck already. Noise not only fan, you still can hear like compressor noise else, when on and off I would said you better switch power off and used stand fan much better for sleep as comfort time in the early morning This post has been edited by kimsim: Mar 12 2014, 02:13 PM |

Hi, I wanted to install air conditioner for my room (finally). Would like to get some info and advice from sifu here.
I'm not sure on size of my room, roughly 4m x 3.5m. Main culprit for air conditioning is my huge desktop with 6 HDD which generate quite some heat. Last time I lived in air conditioning room, I always on it whenever I'm home, but I always keep temperature around 26" ( 27" when sleep, 25" if bloody hot ). 1. My reading from previous few pages, it seems 1HP inverter a.c. unit suit me, please advice. 2. Budget around 1k. 3. Low monthly electric bill (as I'm the one paying for bill). 4. Brand. Panasonic seems to be always reliable choices. From reading of previous post, Mitsubishi electric seems like a good choice in air conditioner. I do have question about brand like Haier and others (advice me pls) with lower price, are they good choice compare to higher price branded like Panasonic ? Say cheaper one last for 5 years and expensive last for 10 years, but price is half of expensive one. Thanks in advance. |
