Fully retractable microphone
The left ear cup houses a fully retractable microphone boom that pulls out only when you need it, perfect for taking your headset on the go. The flexible design allows the unidirectional mic to be adjusted to individual needs so it’s always in the best spot whether you are giving strategic commands or making a quick call to your friend.

Razer packaging has always been simple to open it but yet, stylish at the same time. There are several information on the rear side of the box in several languages.

TESTING AND RESULTS

Musics :

Once you wear this headset and crack up some musics, one thing that you will realize is the bass response. The bass was pretty deep, but not strong, and can sound a bit muddy in some genres. For metal/rock, The bass sound was deep yet not strong. For R&B, Pop and Hip Hop, it performs well. But sometimes the treble can be a bit bright and overpowered some vocals. For Indie songs, the bass overpowered vocals pretty much all the time. For country musics and alternative, the only thing it lacking was vocals clarity. The sound was clear, but sometimes overpowered by bass response. For techno or Indie song, it performs pretty well. but, like other genres, the bass overpowered other mids and highs, which could be good or bad, depends to your liking.

Games :

For games, this headset performs well. Gunfire, explosions, chopper incoming, reload sounds can be heard clearly. I have no problem with sound quality in games, it suits pretty well with the bass response. Whether it's COD or L4D2, it is very satisfying. For MOBA/RTS, the sound quality was good, but no superb. It is more high quality than normal stereo headset, but didn't reach the high-end gaming headsets sound.

Comfort :

'The Most Comfortable Gaming Headset...Ever.' Is it true? No. For this price range, you could say it's one of the most comfortable ones. But, there are a lot of gaming headsets that is more comfortable than Razer Kraken Pro, such as Steelseries 7H, Corsair Vengeance 1500, and Plantronics Gamecom 780. Anyway, Razer Kraken Pro is really comfortable for a period of time. The headset is a closed design headset. The noise isolation was good, but not as good as my Steelseries 7H. Even though the ear cup shape was circle, the ear pads are thick and well-padded. The leatherette covering the soft foam inside was pretty much the same as in Razer Electra. But this headset does not clamp your head, it sits firmly without pinching your head, which can make you feel uncomfortable. The headband was made of mesh-material, which to give breathability to your head. This headset was fairly lightweight, but the weight was mostly on the ear cups. I won't go further than 3-4 hours of gaming, since you can get a bit sweaty due to leatherette material. In terms of comfort, this headset was really comfortable.

Mic Test :

To be honest, the microphone can only pickup my voice when I'm half a centimeter from the microphone. The microphone length was also pretty short. A lot of users experienced the same when testing the mic. But, I tried to plug it in from the back of my desktop. The results was good, the mic can pick up more sound in better range. I'm not sure whether it's because of my PC or it was not made to plug in through splitter.

CONCLUSION

Razer Kraken Pro Gaming Headset is a good choice for any gamers worldwide. The sound quality was good, very comfortable to wear, and block out outside noise very well. If you like to hear R&B,Pop,Hip Hop,Techno or Punk songs, this headset suits you well. For those who like Metals, Rock, Alternative Rock, or Country, this headset won't performs as you would like it to be. Like Razer Electra, Razer Kraken Pro does not have inline volume control or mic mute. Which means if you are going to use this for PC, you have to change the volume through it. I'm not sure why Razer made the Kraken Pro foldable and does not include carrying case. I think the only problem I don't really like about this headset is the mic. It won't pick up sound even from 1 cm, even though I change the microphone boost to 30Db+. If you don't mind plugging it in to your jacks on the back of your PC, it's fine then. I would recommend this headset if you want to have a decent pair of gaming headset. Razer Kraken Pro can be find on any Razer store or reseller around RM289-RM309.

-Very comfy to wear for 3-4 hours
