Received my RM25 thumb up. The quality is very good. Just a bit short but its still nice.
I got another one like this to sell, but the item is on its way.
Bought extra, if anyone interested let me know.  nod.gif

i already own samsung  nx1000 but im unhappy with the colour reproduction that is my first camera

and most of the time, about 95 percent from my shot is taken is wide angle which is at 20mm and i think this x100s with 23mm is actually will suit my needs as the difference is not that much.

zooming while taking a picture make the photo horrible. nuff said. u cant the actual representation of what u see with ur naked eyes.thats why my shot with the nx1000, i rarely use the zoom function.

and im quite worry if i buy this x100s,i will miss shots as i need to compose and think first before taking the shot.
and also taking picture from a place that limit ur movement from a high rise building and behind a glass wall which also limits ur capability to use feet movement as replacment for a zoomless camera
*
if you worry about things like 'ohh, i need to take that building or subject, but something is in my way', then surely X100s is not for you, you might just poisoned by the camera appearance...

Then talking about getting XE-1, is either 18-55mm kit lens or most probably the 35mm lens, so if getting the 18-55mm lens, is much a superior lens than other kit lens as it aperture opening is much bigger than others, but in the end you might be thinking the lens is still 18mm to 55mm, still the same range from what you get from other C&N kit lens, wide not wide enough, tele not very tele end. But in the end it really depend on what is your shooting style smile.gif

samsung NX1000 is a beginner model, dont blame the camera for not giving good result, say if you finally get the X100s in hand, then you might just asking why the picture is not what you wanted or something and say i cannot zoom with my X100s, so i shoot something like this and etc. So live with what you have in hand or else the best camera is the camera you dont have.

i basically shoot everything with my X100

Current Canon user here... been wanted to switch to mirrorless, eyeing fujifilm for awhile, X-E2 seems like a good place to start. if it has a tilt screen it would have been perfect for my need. Anyway, just want to check with you guys on something:

1. between XF23mm and XF27mm, which do you prefer for candid/street photography? planning to get one prime with the kit lens and wait for 10-20 to come.

2. i know X-E2 are not really meant for Video, but at the very least the video feature of it is more than enough for general use? need some feedback from user on this as i occasionally do some video.

3. can i shoot a picture (raw or jpeg) and later only apply the film simulation or effect on it? or i have to decide to use it on the spot of shooting?

I haven't got chance to play with one at the moment (that day played with one which is not turned on at the shop), handling feels ok, will go and check it out when i got time to do so.

I don't hv XF23mm but I have XF27mm and XF18mm....

XF27mm is made in china and plastics bulid, XF18mm more solid feel more premium, IQ is slightly better, AF slightly faster in low light....

I'm not saying XF27mm is bad, it's good enuff for me and I think XF23mm would be more superior than XF27mm

yes both are manual lenses, but its very easy to use. especially with the help of the focus peaking.

if im not mistaken, i read somewhere that the feel of these touit is not good as fujinon lenses.
i dont know as ive never tried it in person. but according to a video in youtube, the guy hate the focus barrel.
and to me, i love my xf 35mm, super sharp lens. good luck! biggrin.gif

1.) In terms of image quality, 23mm is more superior. In terms of candid or street shooting, no doubt 23mm is much suitable since 35mm effective focal length is classic perspective of street shooting....another focal length is 50mm....so you can measure yourself....

2.) I never touched xe2 before but i saw all the sample videos it is quite good for normal recording..

3.) you can shoot raw + jepg together.....then the in camera allows you to change film simulation on the raw and convert it to jpeg...

thanks... i will try out the 23mm if i have a chance.

from youtube the video quality seems ok, just wonder any actual user has any specific comment about it or not.

good to know about this. wonder how many of you shoot jpeg straight, and how many on RAW as the OOC jpeg quality is already pretty impressive as of what i see from the web...
