Hi guys!

Water for Cambodia (WFC) is on a mission is to provide clean water, hygiene and literacy education to rural Cambodian families, improving their health and helping to break the cycle of poverty. WFC builds and installs biosand water filters, household units that produce clean drinking water directly from contaminated sources. With 12,000 filters in place we have brought clean water to more than 75,000 people. In addition to installing water filters, literacy classes and libraries are offered to young village women providing basic reading, writing and math skills. As the primary caregiver they also receive instruction in health, hygiene and the proper use and maintenance of water filters. A water testing lab monitors filter performance. This holistic approach is helping to break the cycle of disease and poverty.

I've decided to do something about it. I recently found out about Water&Toilets (WNT) and its contribution to the water and sanitary to the society and decided to join them in raising money for water filters for WFC. WNT is a non profit organisation that has been raising awareness and money to tackle the water crisis. They've already reached 6,000 people in 2013 and now they're raising money to help more people in Cambodia. You can visit my fundraising page at http://simplygiving.com/dliewwaterforcambodia and make a contribution straight to Water for Cambodia NGO.

Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations to sponsor me. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to my charity. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join me and get involved yourself!

The really cool bit about this fundraiser is the fact that after I raise money for the filters I'll actually visit Cambodia with WNT and the rest of the fundraiser in January to actually get my hands dirty building the filters and I'll also get to meet with the families that the money I raised. It's going to be an amazing experience and I can't wait to go.

But before I make my trip I need to raise money for the filters. My target is USD 500! That'll be enough to build 8 filters which means I'll get to help 8 families get a life time supply of clean water!! Please do me a favor and help me reach my fundraising target. Every little helps. Remember the donations are in USD so don't forget to convert it to your local currencies before you make the donation.

Your donations go directly towards the contruction and installation of new biosand water filters for rural families in Cambodia. Each filter cost USD 62.50. Here's how the cost of a filter is broken down:
80% goes towards the cost of building a biosand filter. That's concrete, gravel, river sand and other related cost involved in the construction and installation of filters
10% goes towards online transaction fees (PayPal & SimplyGiving)
10% goes towards the cost of fundraising which is essentially the cost we incurred in getting this message to you.

Thanks in advance guys! I really appreciate the support. I can't tell you how much it means to me. If you have any questions about how this all works, how the funds are being managed and about the organizations that are involved in this fundraiser click on the link below and you should be able to find an answer to your question. http://www.waterandtoilets.com/answers

If you would like to contact WNT directly you can always contact its founder Navin Muruga at navinmuruga@waterandtoilets.com - he'll be more than happy to answer your questions.

Also, if you're curious about WNT you can visit their website at www.waterandtoilets.com and you can read more about the NGO in Cambodia by visiting www.waterforcambodia.org

Thanks again guys! Every bit of donation counts!
