Hi New owner of a dark blue 408 Turbo checking in!

Bought my car at 5k mileage. Just got it last Sat. Still getting used to it but no questions a huge step up from my previous car

Bought from Kota Damansara Peugeot showroom. It was the test drive unit - 6 months old. I guess some members here have driven the car before Bought for 100k excluding insurance and tinting. 5 years warranty on parts only.

I signed the manual and warranty booklet, but the name written there is the dealership's name. The SA told me that that is all I need to do, for warranty to be transferred to me. Can anyone please share your knowledge on this?

Will be going back to kota damansara service center this sat. Some items needed fixing. After 5 days of driving the car, I would say that the 6spd gearbox is definitely not silky smooth. Should I get it checked?

Clarifying the gearbox comment by myself:

- When accelerating, the car feels great, no doubt.
- Until reaching 3rd or 4th gear however, the car feels a bit reluctant a bit "loose". When driving in tiptronic mode then there is no such feeling.
- When slowing down quickly, the car feels reluctant to drop gears sometimes, resulting in a bit of dragging.
- When changing speeds regularly (fast/slow/fast/slow), the car is sometimes reluctant to drop gears, and sometimes reluctant to engage the next gear.
- When starting off from a standstill (0-30kph range), the car feels reluctant to increase its speed when gradually applying pressure to the accelerator. Again, no such problem in tiptronic mode.

Today, the engine kept its RPM at about 4-5k for a while even after i let go of the accelerator pedal. Anyone else experienced this before? I think the car did slow down though... Not entirely certain what happened... Will see if it happens again.

I'm not trying to stir up trouble. Just curious about the normal behaviour of the 408 turbo. On the whole I am happy with the car. And also I am not really a car person and don't know much, so I may be mistaken or ignorant about many things here...

Hmm... I've been at Kota Damansara since 10:30am for touching some some stuff (took delivery of my car last Saturday). I still see my car out front, not moved at all...

Huh... It's been more than 2.5 hours. They said they are going to bring the car into the inspection area now... So slow!

Well, I collected my car.

Summary of my experience doing post car delivery minor fixes:
- staff are friendly and seem to be genuinely helpful (Mr Hong and Mr Lai)
- waiting time was incredibly long. Waited 2.5 hrs before my car was looked at (3 hrs past appointment time).

I only had 3 complaints: (1) broken volume control stalk (2) minor dings on bodywork (3) pockmarks on windscreen.

After waiting 2.5hrs, the broken volume control stalk was fixed in 10 minutes. Bodywork and windscreen were not as they said they were not able to arrange the outside vendor to come in and fix it today, after all. Then Mr Lai the service manager entertained my questions and concerns for 15 minutes and I left.

I think I saw only 6 car owners bringing in their cars for servicing, but there were many cars sitting in the workshop - dunno if they are waiting for parts / other problem. Only saw maybe 3-4 mechanics.

Not sure how satisfied I am... would be happy if all my complaints were addressed I suppose...

No need to be so depressed, the new car is only coming out in 2016

Do you mean a high pitched sound?
My turbo does not have any high pitched sounds when braking. Only has a low pitched sound when braking slowly and reaching 0kph, which sounds quite normal to me...

I never tried the NA, but on my turbo, just make sure you have Music Ambience set to None, and you will have Treble and Bass options. All these settings in the Music icon button on your dashboard.

How do you get the Peugeot Privilege Card? Does it come for free with the car? Is it only available with certain packages? I don't have any card but I have a sticker on my windscreen that says Peugeot Privilege...

My car has the same problem - rattling noise coming from 3rd brake light. Haven't applied any tape yet.
After I fix this, need to figure out another rattling noise from rear-right side...

I never noticed that before, but now that you mention, I'm not sure if I get the same symptom. Just now tried to check, when I managed to keep an eye on the RPM gauge, didn't notice any RPPM dip; but when I couldn't see the gauge, can hear some engine sound like RPM changed.

Will keep an eye on it and update here later...

Noob question:

My Check/ODO button displays "7000km" next to a spanner icon. Is this the mileage at which I should send my car for servicing? I am at 6960km already The SA told me that the car was just sent for 6th month servicing in Nov 2013.

That's how non-CVT gearboxes work, yes. 408 Turbo is the same.

The weird issue which was asked about a few posts ago is that the RPM drops twice for one of the gear ratios.

The screen only appeared because I pressed the Check/ODO button. Didn't pop up as a warning.

I notice today that instead of 7000km, the same screen says 6800km now. I guess it is actually counting down the number of KM until next service? Can anyone please confirm?


Service booklet was empty when I collected my car but I asked the service centre staff to fill it up based on their electronic records...
