Came back home last night to find cement drops splattered across the roof and back bonnet of the car - can't remove them without causing scratches to the paint work.

Must've been from a cement truck that I drove past.

Sigh so sad...

sorry to hear that, did you do any coating before? If yes can try to go back to the shop, they have ways to remove it

Guys’ just wanna check with you all, when moved to 3rd gear, will it like it will drop another 200 rpm before picking up again? Let’s say 2300 change to 3rd gear, drop 500rpm then when going up the rpm, it will drop another 200 rpm..

can describe in more details? maybe my case is similar to ur case

i experience rpm drop before changing from 2nd to 3rd gear when going up hill

QUOTE(puppydogpoo @ Jan 7 2014, 11:00 PM)
I never noticed that before, but now that you mention, I'm not sure if I get the same symptom. Just now tried to check, when I managed to keep an eye on the RPM gauge, didn't notice any RPPM dip; but when I couldn't see the gauge, can hear some engine sound like RPM changed.

Will keep an eye on it and update here later...
*
The feeling is like having another gear change..
Let's say now running 2nd gear, reached 2300rpm, it will then engage to 3rd gear n normally drop 500 rpm.. Then just when it is picking up rpm, it drops another 200 rpm to 1600 rpm before continue to pick up rpm.. I didn't lift my leg of the accelerator..
it's like slip clutch feeling.. Not sure if it is normal, might ask service center on 20k service on March

Yes bro this is normal. I'm silent cos I don't have an explanation for easy understanding. It's to do with attained speed Vs gear ratios.

Hope you can share your knowledge here with us,I believe many will want to know...

Hello all Venteran Pug Owners,
I've just booked a 408 NA which the pricing is within my budget and I'd enough of Turbos already.

I booked the 408 after a test drive as the experience is truly wonderful and the cute SA managed to get me some attractive discount, RM6000 over trade and another RM6000 discount. To some, I might as well chosen the 5 yr free maintenance package but, somehow, I took the over trade option at the end of the day. But then, no freebies from the SA.

To be frank, I din't even bother to test any other brands as my friend own an Altis which I find it boring(like an Account Manager) and those Civics doesn't give out the impression I wish to express. But the 408 has got the "ooooh" factor, plus it's attractive sleek lines. Definitely, not the exuberance of luxury, but enough to be proud for driving one.

I'm now waiting for my loan to be process and the SA is finding dealer to buy my current ride.

Sorry for the long post, but kinda excited and anxious of owning my first conti. Hopefully, all goes well and I shall be able to share more wonderful experience with fellow owners here.

Au Revoir...

Good to hear on your decision, but you said you have enough of turbos, what car was it? What issues you encountered?

For PIAA,  can check it out at ENEOS 1U. Last time I checked,  they have a limited range of OSRAM/Philips. Now i'm not sure whether they have re-stocked. But the price could be a little more expensive than buying from the net.

I dont know how to fit it myself. Rather just go a accessory shop and buy and get them to install.

Any recommended accessory shop to go to??

Thank you very much.

Bro, not tough to do it yourself.. Can get to know your car better..hehe

Hi guys,

I just read through the manual. They say the car's light size is:

H7 55w - Dipped lights
H1 55w - main lights

What is dipped lights?? And i assume, if i were to change to halogen bulbs, i will have to buy a H1 right???

Thank you very much.
*
You need to buy H7. H1 is for the high beam

Guys, need a piece of advice, change windscreen, should I do outside or bring back to Peugeot? Very unlucky, second time hit by stone..first time I just did the repair now exactly in front of the passenger view, so decided to replace it..

Thanks everyone for the feedback.. Currently i'm using Kurnia and yes, did bought the windscreen coverage of RM2900 and after checking with Peugeot just now, total cost for replacement is RM3015.80. So means i need to top up RM115.80 by myself...
Why i opt to replace the windscreen coz there are two dents already... first one i repaired and thought of replacing it maybe 4-5 years later, who knows today hit by stone again on the same road (Kesas Highway)... argh...
As for tint, since the initial is not sufficient to cover, so no choice, tint have to pay from own pocket..
the best part is i'm 1 month away from renewal of my insurance, now, i'm thinking of insured more then once that take effective, claim through that insurance company rather than using the current one.. what you guys think??

Agree.. Get locally much cheaper

Guys, not sure any of you encountered this before..
Just now I was using the car Bluetooth for voice call, but before the call actually gone through, I've end the call..but the player hangs there showing call in progress but when I check my phone, it was ended with my Bluetooth connection lost..
Then the player just maintained at that status, can't off even after I off the engine for more than 30 mins..
Called Peugeot assistance, they said need to drive back to service center as it is program fault.. So no choice loo, planned to send back tmr first thing in the morning, then later about 45 mins after dinner, check back the car, everything normal again..

Aside from good year any other choice to reduce the notice sipping through to my pilot cabin?
*
Good year asy is uhp tires, one of the best uhp.. Depends on your budget n your driving style.. If total comfort, can look at Yokohama C drive 2.. For budget uhp, can look into nexen u8000.. All depends on your budget n type of drive

Guys, those that had changed your car battery, they jump start your car first only replaced the old battery or directly changed the old battery to new one?

What uhp?
Nexen is korean made right? My friend's Cerato comes with Nexen tyre, however feedback from Cerato club, many owners claim this tyre punctured with no reason. Many of them change the ori tyre to other brand.
*
UHP = Ultra High Performance tire
Yes, coz nexen N8000 is soft.. so grip is good, so puncture due to that is possible (too soft).. else can look at N6000..
pirelli P1 Cinturato is also good option, not too expensive as it is made in China now a days for Asian market..
If have budget will be Conti Sports Contact, GY Asym, Pirelli P Zero, Michelin PS 3

I find conti tyre cant last long. I will avoid this brand on next change. Probably GY Asym. Any suggestion/ comment on brake pad?
*
Usually UHP tires not so lasting.. yours first batch of 408 comes with Conti Sports Contact right?
Brake pad no comment as most of time use back the ori one, cuz sometimes OEM ones might not suit our car n the perf will degrade.. sticking back to ori replacement safer..
