Hi guys,
Happy CNY. been busy with family stuff during so no time come in forum.

My 408 has travelled about 1.7k km and i found the car kinda floats while travelling in high speed ard 160km/h to 180km/h.

Need to check with u guys, does ur driver side power windows able to wind down completely after pressing the switch? All the 3 other windows are able to, just the driver side cannot. How abt u guys?
*
You driving 1.6T or NA?
To completely wind down the windows, you press once and wait it down until it stop. Now you press one more time, the windows should completely wind down. Hope this helps..

I drove 190km/hr, 2.0NA. when I travel Penang to kl. Some way around Ipoh on the highway because I follow one new Camry 2.0. This Camry driver also drove very fast, I not really dare to follow..what feeling on 190km/hr, I did not remember anymore, I did remember my gf angry at me.. Sigh!!!

By the way, I'm still not able to resolve the driver side windows which will wind down completely after pressing the switch. I find it very inconvenience to keep pressing the switch until the windows wind down especially in highways toll. Somehow, the pulling switch up allows the windows to wind up completely automatically.
*
Hi shackks, the windows should wind down completely once second press otherwise, you can check in car handbook. I pretty sure there are instruction to set auto wind down mode of the windows.

Cheers

Dear All,

Will adding a reverse camera + monitor, affect warranty?
The only connection needed is only one wire that need to be linked to the reverse light, and 2 screws on the bumper for placing the camera.
Cost is only around RM450.
Thanks.
*
You not modify or cut the wire should be no problem...

Just sharing. In china, they mod 2.0 NA + Rotrex super-charger. Pressure 0.6, 6500rpm can have 210hp and 280Nm..

Major works: install Rotrex between steering pump and air -con pump. Customise mounting bracket to install Rotrex and steering pump. Many many thing to do...

But no test report available...

It's only been 3 days and I've already found 2 issues with the car. Given my never ending streak of bad luck with cars....this comes as no surprise.

1. Left windscreen washer is not functioning. Right wasn't either but I kept trying to use the washer and it eventually sprang to life after a while.
2. Some vibration noise in the front left. Only noticeable when AC is on or driving on very rough surface....like those cement parts of the highway.

I'm gonna wait for the 2.5k inspection to report these. Any advice guys?
*
Hi there.
I had similar problem as you. Right working then left should working as well because both from same pipeline(correct me if I'm wrong). Maybe you can use nail to clean the hole of washer... Or you dismantle the soundproof at the engine hood, check whether have water flow to left washer or not

For front left noise, I believe it from door panel...

Believe it or not, I'm relieved I'm not the only one facing these problems. Having had faced unique problems with my Vios which was only temporarily resolved after numerous visits to the SC and blind troubleshooting by them because they never could reproduce it....knowing this is not a "unique" issue is somewhat of a relief.

Was the problem with the door panel fixed? Any suggestions on how to approach the SC about this? I never had much luck with those rattling noises in my Vios when trying to get the SC convinced that I wasn't just hearing noises in my head....because whenever I went for a test drive with them, it didn't happen....but it did every other time.
*
So you had tried many time pull and hold but no water out from washer also ?

You do request SC to rectify the source in the first place. Gentle press on the panel when rattling noise can be heard. If noise disappear, do dismantle the panel and then check all the clip/screw to make sure everything tighten up. After re-install panel back, test drive...

Similar problem as you...I may dismantle it myself if I have time... hmm.gif

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 24 2014, 10:26 PM)
Hi Eugene Ong
I think one or more sensors feeding into the ECU are not functioning. IMO your engine failure is due to too rich a mixture. Density of air decreases with altitude. This means as you climb higher the air gets thinner. ECU sensing this will correct the amount of fuel accordingly. If the fuel injected into the cylinders is not reduced according to density of air, the result is too rich a mixture to support combustion. The engine just dies.

Just my 2 cent

Any 2.0NA owner had tried climd up to Genting before ? Have facing similar problem like 1.6T ?

Yes, my car (NA) have the similar sound when making turning. Had been checked by Puchong and Balakong SC, its normal as what being told. I wonder other NA owners have the similar sound or not?
*
I was thinking this is not normal because turn right was okay. I was afraid that steering rod may having problem... Who can explain about this issue?

Sorry to hear that bro. Hope you managed to lock all the doors.

Else,  for the rear doors,  use the child lock. There is a black cap located on the edge of the rear door. Use the car key to remove the black cap.  Insert the key to move the latch (without turning)  towards the inside of the door. Lastly,  remove the key and refit the black cap. Now close the rear door and check if you can open it from outside.  To open the rear doors,  you need to unlock it from inside.

For front door,  as usual,  use the lock to lock and unlock.
*
Firstly, I use your method for rear door and then use car key to lock front door., but why one of the rear door still can open?
