QUOTE(efaceninja @ Aug 4 2014, 02:14 PM) not really say familiar.. been research a bit on them last month because last month got Meg discount 20% everywhere almost nationwide. so.. at first i bought ultimate quik wax, then after a day bought ultimate liquid wax, then ultimate wash & wax, then ultimate protectant, then finally ultimate polish... quite a big lump of money for myself. was eyeing on Meg endurance tyre gel as well.. but trying trying to limit myself.. damn 20% Damn.. didn't realize that coming! By the way, thats a lot of stuff you just bought there Well i think the Meguair's Endurance Tyre Gel is not worth, for me is kinda expensive! QUOTE(efaceninja @ Aug 4 2014, 02:17 PM) Awesome... Just started to use this thread actually ! |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Aug 4 2014, 02:40 PM) one of the best/long lasting tire shine product out there. THAT MUCH?? well worth the money spent! in fact as i don't want it to gloss so much, i only apply very minimal amount and after years of usage i still got like 80% left |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Aug 4 2014, 03:09 PM) i use few drops per tire, got 1 bottle. you tell me lol. Yea true sometimes the sponge soak up all the gel. what about using brush? in fact i also don't want to use too much as it'll be wasted on the sponge, it's a b**** to wash off too (hence it's durability, and the product is called endurance, no?) hell, if the sponge keep absorbing and you get some on your fingers, gg. shiny/sticky/oily feeling fingers for the day until your body natural oil takes over. QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 4 2014, 04:07 PM) One of my all time favourite tire dressing. For RM58, if you apply every week (which you won't really need to cuz it'll last longer than that - provided you apply in on CLEAN rubber), for the average OEM tire wall size, you would finish that bottle in....errr....maybe 4 ~ 5 years time.... Thats one great information... but im using quick detailer quite fast wiping fresh tree sap bird shit and etc... And about the clay thingy, if can afford, I would strongly suggest using a quick detailer instead of diluted shampoo, regardless which type/brand of clay. I have tried/used quite a few types/brands of clay ranging from the cheaper PG clay to Riccarro polyclay and all of them would have some sort of problem or another if used with diluted shampoo, ranging from crumbling and leaving clay residue to severe marring of the paint, and not to mention degrading more rapidly in storage after use. Another thing to also remember when using diluted shampoo as clay lubricant is that you'd NEED TO rinse (and sometime even wash again) the whole car down again afterwards. Whereas if using a quick detailer, you don't need to and whatever residue left are easily removed when you're doing the waxing/polishing afterwards. Worst comes to worst, if you don't plan to wax/polish after claying, another round of wiping with the same quick detailer could do the job. Saying that, if you're just using a 'cheapo' clay then it doesn't really justify a dedicated clay lub which is few times more expensive the the clay itself. But just remember one thing though, claying *could* induce damages to the paint if the lubricant used is not....well...lubricative(?) enough and it would be more expensive and more time consuming correcting the paint when damaged. My advice is, safest way is to read the label and use whatever that is recommended there. Just remember: prevention is FAR BETTER then correction. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 4 2014, 04:55 PM) Yup. Still that bubble-gummy sort of grape smell... Meguairs Last Touch is like quick detailer u mean? Confused! I know the feeling. I remember I finished my first Megs Quick Detailer within one month. That was why I decided to go for the gallon once I can afford one.... QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 4 2014, 05:01 PM) Use a 'sponge'. When you finished, store it in a plastic bag (something like those thick 'bungkus air' plastic). When you need to use it again, just hold the sponge from the outside and turn the plastic inside-out so that the plastic would now become a 'glove'. Whatever left on the sponge can still be use and you'd only need to add a little bit only. And best thing is - NO MORE OILY HANDS.... I always use the detergent glove the rubber. I think your idea is more reusable... |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 4 2014, 09:59 PM) Endurance doesn't come with an applicator. Those yellow round wax applicator would do...but try not to use the ones frm Megs. They're too soft and the foam cant take the roughness of the tyres, especially when they have been 'soften' by the gel. Any tyre applicator 'sponges' sold in the stores are fine too. Personally, there's this Kiwi shoe polish applicator that I personally like cuz it's denser than normal sponge, softer but quite durable. I like it because the dense foam makes the gel stays longer on the surface and doesn't absorb as quick, softness makes it easier to squeeze the gel out again to the surface especiallynduring application, and durable than any other foam that i've tried since 'rubbing' the sponge against the texture of the tyres do wear out the foam faster, especially when I'm trying to work the gel into/between the small letters/wordings/grooves. Come come show is what's the KIWI thing. And I would guess it's only suitable for gel/silicone based product that doesn't (or VERY SLOWLY) dry over time. I've never tried it with wax or polish though....can't say for sure but i don't see the point of doing it with waxes/sealants/polishes.... QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Aug 4 2014, 10:24 PM) I think you have to take car on the sponge make sure when you polish or wax your pad doesnt drop. Cause it will collect some rough recedue. If you drop and use it damn... You damage your pain... Just becarefull when you do that. QUOTE(NoNameSake @ Aug 4 2014, 10:36 PM) hi, i'm a newbie here, i just want to ask, if say i polish and wax my car by hand would it damaged the clear coat of my car, and also which polish and wax product to you all recommend i use when DIY my car. i also have bought Megs SwirlX, does any one have ever tried this product? You polish by hand can't really damage your car just that you have to make sure before you start polishing or wax make sure your car is clean. And also while polish/wax make sure you do it section by section. I never touch before SwirlX maybe other guys can help you. thanx |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 4 2014, 11:13 PM) Yes. UP & UC are for defects removal - they don't provide any protections afterwards. You'd need to apply a wax or sealant after you're finished. Yeap!.....so need to learn to use it correctly. Understanding the product usage and the right techniques is everything. Easy nowadays as there are plenty of videos/guides online. It will only be dangerous if you jump into a pool without first learning how to swim.... |

QUOTE(scoutfai @ Aug 5 2014, 08:10 AM) Man im looking at that thing too... Is hard to get here! QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 5 2014, 09:05 AM) This is the one I'm talking about: Wow nice... I should hunt that down. After stop looking at the internet searching for detailing updates and talk. Realize there is a lot things for me to catch up! ![]() It's actually kinda small...maybe around 2" or 2 1/2" in diameter. But I find the size is just nice for my low profile tyres (217/45/17). scoutfai, you're right. Most of the Kiwi sponges are already loaded with their shine/polish/wax, but the one above isn't. Actually, if you bought one of those, why don't you try it on. It actually gives quite a nice mat/satin sheen to the rubber...kind of the 'new rubber' look. Very nice looking if if you ask me, especially since I'm the kinda guy who aren't really fond of those shiny/wet looking finish. Something like Dodo Juice Tyromania look. |

QUOTE(efaceninja @ Aug 5 2014, 11:30 AM) LT need dilution one ah? will keep in mind (for when IF i really buy it). Also if for D156 spray wax, need dilution as well? haha stick back with superglue!! Meg Ultimate Quik Detailer RM 70 / 650ml (RM70 discount 20% = RM56) Last Touch RM150 / 7560 ml = 11.5 bottle UQD = worth 11.5 * RM56 = RM664 worth of UQD! (after 20% discount somemore) Daiso has the exact same thing!! (not kiwi brand la) but upon my first polish on my shoe, the sponge fall off from the plastic holder already haha. QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 5 2014, 11:49 AM) Last Touch is Megs Quick Detailer equivalent - the reddish bottle, not Ultimate Quick Detailer - the black bottle. by the way where do you get the bigger products from?Megs Ultimate Quick Detailer equivalent would be M135 - Mirror Glaze Synthetic Spray Detailer D156 is Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax, equivalent to Ultimate Quick Wax I seldom see much of Megs Quick Detailer around anymore. Not sure whether it's still around or not. But if I'm not mistaken they're around RM45 or so for a 16oz bottle. QUOTE(scoutfai @ Aug 5 2014, 12:47 PM) As stated by KrisMas, Duragloss Malaysia carries one. Sounds expensive GoodWellCarGoods also carry a kind from Gilmour foam gun (RM500+) and a made in China which they claim on par with Gilmour (RM200-). Not sure the price is worthy or not though. But I am more curious to know pin type or dial type is better. One can see pin type usually brass, dial type usually plastic. |

QUOTE(scoutfai @ Aug 5 2014, 01:00 PM) Yes, I do have a feeling this shop has a bit high profit margin. What shop is it? I wonder??? But they do carry a lot of stuff that you only get to see in foreign website. QUOTE(KrisMas @ Aug 5 2014, 02:37 PM) I would think Gorilla Glue would be more suited for the task. Haha... Whats the besting about Gorilla Glue? Hehe.... You mean the gallons? Well...here and there...friends and acquaintances...but normally from local dealers and/or agents. LYN Trade section is a good place to start looking..... Nice nice and regulat or good agents or dealers u wanna intro? |

QUOTE(efaceninja @ Aug 5 2014, 10:33 PM) ooh ok ok ic thanks for enlightening We should join venture since is worth that much for a QD!! :] so what's the different between this D155 & M135?? I think Mirror Glaze line is more pro and also more expensive eh? a quick search on google, most says that D155/QD works better as clay lube than M135/UQD. For for quick detailing purpose, M135/UQD still better, give better gloss, etc, but not good as clay lube. Also read some say when use as clay lube, D155 dilution 1:1. If use as QD, no dilution. but i suppose i can use 1:1 dilution as QD purpose also? rework my calculation a bit: Meg Quik Detailer (red bottle one) RM 45 / 473ml (RM45 discount 20% = RM36) Last Touch RM150 / 7560 ml = 16 bottle QD = worth 16 * RM36 = RM576 worth of QD! (after 20% discount somemore) Is thinking to get D155 & D156 |
