So far, the haze/rain didn't kill the coating, wax or sealant.

Guess it is a good sign then...

guys,

I got 1:10 dilluted APC in a cheap spray bottle (those rm3 pasar malam bottle). is there any side effect for a long term use? or should i put it in the chemical resistant spray bottle? Sked the chemical in it will spoil the plastic and effect the on the surface i used later on.

APC still ok.

Talk about this good quality (chemical resistant, grey color head), large volume  (1 liter) sprayer or foamer, other than OSREN, does anyone knows where else can get something that is similar to the sprayer and foamer carried by OSREN?

Does normal shoplot hardware shop carries something similar?
Ace Hardware has some but (i) volume usually lesser than 1liter (ii) price not so competitive, would rather go back to OSREN if has to purchase from there. But the quality is good for those chemical sprayers carried by Ace Hardware.

The other reliable options I am aware of is the Meguiar's one but that one selling way overpriced by Hypercoat Malaysia.

Edit: Suddenly has an idea, this weekend wanna try whether the OSREN sprayer head can insert, turn, and tighten on the 1.5L or 500ml soft drink water bottle or not. I remember I saw some sellers just selling the head. Though I always doubt is it so easy to find a bottle whose  thread can fit the head nicely, and the length of the tube is sufficiently long or not.

Osren is still the cheapest. Others also have it, but still the same fate.

I have 1 from ACE, chemical resistant type. OK but more expensive than OSREN.

Actually the Sonax rim coat ok what, last me a few months. In between wash I just use wheel cleaner that comes with it.

But I use Iron X to clean for the 1st time prior to apply the rim coat...

If this rim coat is not good enough, what else is there in market?

How I judge? Beading yes. But mainly I look at the cleanliness of the rim.

This is what I have done.
1. Spray Iron X. Waited for 5~8mins.
2. Using tooth brush to gosok a bit... But with Iron X, nothing much to gosok really.
3. Use pressurized water and spray. I don't use PW... Had one, but sold it off.
4. Dry thoroughly.
5. Spray the coating on foam pad then on the rim. Then wipe evenly.
6. Then bake under the sun.

After that, all my washing of the rims are only with Meg Wheel Brightner 1:10. And also pressurized water only. It stays clean and shining.

How I notice it is still working is because I do the Meg Wheel Brightener on other car, it is not that clean and I still need to work a little bit harder just to remove the brake dust.
My choice of brake pad is always the ceramic type, because very makan. That's why I can see the difference, also the rims that were not coated travel way less then the other coated rims. Both also alloy rims.

But scoutfai, to apply 2nd layer, I would suggest you wait a few hours or at least bake under the sun first. I did this test before too, the 2nd wipe after a few hours the feeling of the rim surface is very smooth.

Just that now, I want something that can last longer. When you have rear drum brake, then you would feel my pain too. biggrin.gif

well not sure about that but definitely is liquid thou

wow that is impressive

well i tried before i asked them for a polish service before the wax, well below is the details

Paid RM 200 + - for detail polish & wax <inc clay & compounding etc> 3M products
for this packages it holds the wax longest about 3 weeks plus before i have to send for waxing again but as time goes on it holds around a week or twice only. (this is about year ago)

recently paid RM 170 for simple polish & nanowax  <had to paid so much due they incl the nano coat>
this is the worst, finish today a day later park outside and heavy rain, there goes my wax.  doh.gif

what seems to be a problem ? shop pipu skill problem lel ?
*
If after 1 day the wax is gone, why don't you send it back to the shop and ask them why?

After polish, the surface need to be clean thoroughly... mainly using surface cleaner or multiple name that they have. I have IPA to clean the surface, then only apply the wax.

Whatever form of wax that I used, definitely last longer than 1 day. smile.gif

I still suspect the shop didn't clean properly enough, maybe they didn't prep the surface prior to waxing.

XM177

If purely wash, surface prep and wax. You can easily DIY.
It won't cost you much, yet the result can last easily 3 weeks. With RM170, I think you can get very good liquid to start with.

And it is a good exercise too.

Even if you are staying in high rise building, this can be done easily(Provided you can find an area for you to work comfortably).

You can see that Quazacolt place is almost similar to parking lot in apartment. biggrin.gif
If he also can do it, why not you?

I only send my car for polish once or twice a year depends on budget and do some waxing service in between but wax wear faster than i thought so i want try go for a coating well lesson learnt though
I asked & complain after the day happen their reason was 'i also dont know why ?' and put the blame to my basic polish package that i paid & proton paint quality which i seriously have doubt & unsatisfied thus i came here to ask around experience enthusiasts weather does paint quality affect.
My apologies for speaking in that manner. I guess my only option now is to DIY and do properly clean the surface and wax it to test does my paint really at fault ?

Steps to be done ?
Wash > Clay > Wax
*
I think for 1st time, wash>clay>IPA wipe down>wax.

You don't really need to clay that frequent, because after DIY, you will know how to slow down passing through those newly tar road.

After 1st time, you can wash and wax(Using spray wax).

If it is not that dirty, you may consider spraying QD and wipe.

So far, you'll need wash shampoo, clay bar, IPA and wax... of course at least 4~5 pcs of MF cloth.

With this RM170 might last you 1 year.

They use to be cheaper and can nego with seller but now they're about the same price ever since an authorised dealer was established for the region....well...I think you should know very well how that works.... tongue.gif

Oh...not too many of us like the Rupes compounds and polishes. Their pads are good but their polishes....not so much.
I just did a little bit of 'asking around' and seems like the Bigfoots' market price had gone beyond RM2k...even if want to buy the machine alone is already at the RM2k marks. The mini is just around a couple of hundreds lesser than RM2k.... sad.gif

Yeah...the few of us were really fortunate to get the Bigfoot at....errr....call it an 'introductory' price. The guy was supposed to become the official rep for this region but he was, unfortunately, 'muscled' out by...errmm....whoever la. Anyway, now I don't have any 'lobang' for the Rupes....sorry...
*
Who is the authorized distributor now? Can I can the pad from them? Last I went to Kuchai Lama, the shop only have pads for LHR21, not 15. So I got it from UK instead.

For me, if the sealant can provide deep gloss, I would be very interested.

But it seems that now it has become a trend that, distributors don't intend to sell their products to end user.... hmmm...very puzzling indeed.

1. Are they worried that end-user dunno how to apply hence tarnish their image?
2. Or they simply think that this will kill their market??

I'll go for latter and they should be well aware that everyone sells windowing tinting film too.
