Well, for starters, I'm no Sifu, just another guy who does his own cars and some.
Conventional wax are not permanent coatings, permanent coatings are stuff like the OptiCoat, OptiGuard, Cquartz, anything that, forms a permanent bond onto the surface, and crystallizes(from liquid turns to glass/solid) if you leave it in open air.
Well, it's always recommended to clay as a form of old wax removal and also to remove any contaminants before a new coat of wax/sealant. Also, well, we won't want to seal the contaminants along onto our paint work when we apply the new layer of wax/sealant, right? But, if your car was recently clayed and waxed/sealed(maybe say about 2-3 months? Actually it's hard to judge other than to feel the surface after a wash), then, a cleaner wax is good enough to remove old layer and apply a new layer.

Yes, a cleaner wax is an AIO.
Some AIO provide mild protection, some provides decent ones. A general rule of thumb is that the more abrasives or cleaners in it, the less durable the protection, but, so far, have had decent durability with good cleaning power with the Duragloss product range, either the 501 or 105. The former has better cleaning but less durable, the later less cleaning but more durability. Either one would do.

Dewalt 894X is M14.
Both sizes can get the right backing plate in Malaysia although M14 should be more "plug and play" as the EU machines all use the M14 size.
We used to rethread the 5/8" plates from US into M16 back then. (At least, for me, that's what I did since I have access to a lathe)

QUOTE(scoutfai @ May 29 2014, 07:42 AM) 5/8" is about 15.9mm, how you manage to lathe it to M16 which I think is means 16mm ? You actually answered your own question. Why can't a smaller hole be made slightly bigger? It's actually both diameter and slight difference in thread pitch. Oh, well, there's always thread adapters to change from M16 to M14 and vice versa anyway.

The price OSREN are selling those Torco CR sprayers, the white 1L bottle is almost free. I agree, why want to make simple thing so difficult just to save a few bucks?

QUOTE(thom_chai @ Jun 30 2014, 10:12 AM) Cool, haha. I actually saw the HD7/11-4C at the local shop here yesterday and man it was huge. Forgot the price, if not mistaken, i think close to 3k. Anyway, instead of picking up the monster power washer, I ter-bought Can't wait to try it out Oh wait, I only have 5.5" pads now. Have to burn wallet for new backing plate again No harm using 5.5" pads with the rotary. Of course, a bigger pad is faster, but I find no issues with the 5.5" pads on a rotary.
