You can try searching for undervolting tutorials to reduce the voltage.
Also Gigabyte brand usually runs hotter than others.

LOL! mcko was just bring sarcastic.

Personally, I think this will only be temporary.
After the demise of Mt. Gox, Bitcoin will be able to start a new and rise again.

Come on guys, don't give up so easily after you've invested so much time into Bitcoin.
*
No worries, cloudstrife was also being sarcastic smile.gif

Hardcore players are definitely bullish on bitcoin and won't be scared off by all these
minor knee jerk reactions. The protocol and network is still solid, projects and developments
are still in the pipeline (atm, winklevoss, etc.), and those whose have millions invested
(eg. KNC, China miners and btc goreng squad) won't just let it go without a fight.

Right now the focus is on cutting off the busuk Magic The Gathering Online Exchange
and let life go on.

Tried undervolting but bios setting doesnt seem to take effect.. sigh.  cry.gif

only able to run 3 280x out of 2 760w psu and vddr is always capped at 1.200
anyone other than me using gigabyte can advice?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

How are the 4 cards connected to your PSUs? 2 cards + mobo in PSU1, then 2 cards in PSU2 should be able to handle.

Are you using any powered risers or just direct into mobo?

If you are using CUT powered risers, you can allocate them 2 in PSU1 and 2 in PSU2. If sticking all 4 risers into PSU1
maybe not enough juice.

Make sure you already backup all the files in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Litecoin\

**Especially** "wallet.dat" file before trying to fix anything. That contains your private keys, ie. coins

Might need to reinstall the Litecoin QT at worse.

Which wallet u guys prefer the most? This ltc wallet qt macam not stable 1.. I synced few days back, then suddenly today asked me to resync entire thingy again..
*
Definitely have to sync because the QT wallet needs the whole blockchain
up to date on your PC before you can send or receive coins.

You can try other lightweight wallets that don't require syncing. I'm not
familiar with LTC, but for BTC you have light options like Multibit, and less
secure online wallets like blockchain.info, coinbase

If you decide to move on to other wallets, you'll need to fix your current
wallet so you can send out your coins or export your privkeys to be used
in the new wallet system.

Well build..what cards running? what is the temperature right now?  biggrin.gif
*
280x Sapphires, at full throttle it's around 74 degrees @ 740khs and 70% gpu fan.

Not satisfied with the temp and rpm, so temporarily running lower intensity while thinking of new cooling / undervolting arrangements.

yeah try undervolting.. but that will lower the hashrate also if too aggressive.. good thing temp will drop and so will power consumption..  biggrin.gif

what mobo using? BTC board? do you use the two molex into the mobo also (if using powered riser already)
*
I find the 280x new batches that I have are quite tough to undervolt, anything less than 1.140v set in trixx will crash the miner when going full blast.

Mobo is MSI 990FXA-GD65 with 6 pcie, AMD Sempron 145 cpu. Just using molex on the risers and ignored the 6pin connector on the mobo. Luckily no incidents when it came to detecting all 6 gpu in Win7 64bit, with help from modded drivers.

Just plug a PCI-E riser into the 16x slot the wrong way around

Quick way to destroy a board (or at least that slot)

Your warning about this in earlier posts was fresh in my mind while I was plugging in the risers :0

Hi folks,

i need some help on some problem with my rig. I tried installing the 5th gpu today but it seems like the mobo cannot detect it.

I did the following steps:

1. check each gpu individually... all 5 detected individually
2. check each gpu individually on the respective slots ... all 5 detected individually
3. swap the 1x pcie chip around... no matter wat position i swapped its still only detect 4
4. change the usb 3.0 powered risers between the gpu .... same only 4 detected

i am going crazy.... :cries:

running on
asrock h81 pro btc
8GB ram
100cm usb 3.0 powered risers
5x powercolor 280x
*
1. Try disable all non essential features on your motherboard ie. usb3 controller, sound device, etc.

2. Try search for modded 13.12 drivers by lbr @ litecointalk forum which helps up to 6 card detection

3. Check and flush device manager for any dupe and inactive gpu device entries. Install each card one at a time, allow windows to fresh shutdown & restart between each.

Guys,

What's the maximum watts can single phase electrical supply can support? Let say, can i safely install 10 mining rigs that each consume 1.5 kilowatt with total of 15kilowatt plus one a/c on single phase electrical wiring? Or this setup need to run on 3-phase electrical supply?
*
At 1500watt per rig is ~6.25A @ 240v, bear in mind home internal wiring is normally 13A / 3120watts recommended max load per circuit. If there are no other appliances sharing, you could squeeze 2 rigs per circuit but that would be risky for the wiring.

i'm running bamt 1.3

new discovery... the symptoms are consistent when i use a bootable dos to use atiflash to check each gpu
and the 5th gpu says board not found. This is quite low level adi....

still not yet try to flash the mobo's bios. dunno will brick the mobo or not....  unsure.gif

What power supply you using? How are the devices connected?

Yup i swapped the pcie slots different positions and even swapped the usb risers with the extra spare ones.
ENERMAX MaxRevo 1500w ...
all GPU connected via powered usb risers directly to the psu. None are connected to the mobo. devices attaced is PS/2 keyboard, 8GB flash driver with BAMT 1.3
all GPU uses powered usb riser directly connected to the PSU. it's pretty much the same like my 1st rig....
maybe tomorrow will try to reflash the bios. today just too tired

huwaaaa bad luck day~...... while getting the rig to work with just 4x powercolor 280x, 3hrs into the grind... suddenly hear explosion like firecracker, and burnt smoke smell... dismantle the rig and checked, 4th GPU capacitor blow..  mad.gif  cry.gif  .... bad luck day. swapped the gpu. maybe RMA back then try again 5 gpu setup. sad.gif
*
Whoa, sorry to hear about the bad luck, could have been a bad riser probably? Can have a look at the solder joints especially under the PCIE slots, sometimes got messy soldering work there.

bro.... where did u buy that push button start?... or rip from old rig?
The start button cable I'm selling actually, along with pc speaker as one set:

anyone can share where to buy the aluminum rig thingy? mine currently using fruit basket..
Seemed so pariah.. sad.gif

Don't have any local sellers for such rigs, so options are: order from overseas (expensive), ask local aluminium shop to build, I think someone in this thread got show his rig pictures before. Using square tube aluminium and plastic corner connectors.

Last option, buy aluminium L bars and self build using nut & bolt, which is what I did.
