I only excited the rg unicorn and gouf. rclxm9.gif
What are ur favourite or interested model to be realise in 2014 ?

Take it with a grain of salt, all are pure speculation/prediction of gundamguy. There r tons on his list that r downright impossible.

MG Xi Gundam Ver. Ka?
dream on, if they could make this Bandai would have made MG Kshatriya
*
well to be fair, kshatriya is more problematic than xi on the technical level, however your point is still valid but not because of its size or complexity. Xi is an overall pretty basic gundam design, not too over the top, certainly not as over the top as kshatriya was. Its just big thats all. Its just slightly bigger then ex-s and if tey can make ex-s tey can make xi.

the problem of xi however is purely of popularity. How many of u here know of xi, where it comes from, in what uc continuity does it stand on, its back story? I doubt many here even knew who piloted it or even pronounce xi. As such where is the market demand for it? Making big kits cost alot of $$$, if the said kit design is obscure how many would actually buy it? When only will bandai get back the ROI? Purely on the business level, making xi doesnt make sense, unless hathaway flash is heavily promoted 1st. That in itself is problematic too since hathaway flash is based on beltorchika's children which is an alternate story of cca, hence its non canon.

any grade of any gundam is possible ...
Gunpla is a multi million dollar business, everything is $$$. Just because they can do it doesnt meant they will. Everything has to have a reason for its existence. How much do u think it is to r&d a design, manufacture a mold, mold maintenance? How much do u think it'll cost to run a production chain? If a design is unpopular/unknown and yet u go ahead and mass manufacture it how much do u think it'll cost them? Not only will they lose the initial investment, the losses is compounded by pushing backward other design that would have otherwise taken its place that is far more popular and would sell tons more. This is especially true for big kits as they hav more plastic = more runners = more mold = more machine is needed to pump out the kit = more maintenance cost just to sustain a design. A design in which the cost of a single kit will be expensive and off putting to most. Meaning ur potential customer is less. If a big design is unpopular it makes 0 sense to mass produce it. Thinking everything can and will be made is being delusional.

QUOTE(orestes @ Jan 4 2014, 04:47 PM)
i dont see if they have problem making mg kshatriya .. probably bandai just dont feel like it ... haha..
no, again Gunpla is multi million dollar business. A popular design will always get 1st dibs. Why else do u think rx78 has so many variation so many model kits. Kshatriya is popular, far more popular then the likes of banshee, fans have been crying for MG Kshatriya since epi 1. You think Bandai dont feel like doing it? U think Bandai will let Kshatriya popularity dies off 1st b4 "feel" like making 1? U think tey will let this cash cow dies of old age b4 milking it? This is $$$ we're talking about here, millions of $$$ infact. Put urself in Bandai's executive shoes, if u could mass produce such a popular design up to respectable standard, would u hold back and "feel" like not doing it, potentially losing $$$ that fans r willing to throw at u, losing time on a series thats is nearing its end and thus losing fans interest the longer u held a design back. If ur company can make 1 right now and satisfy thousands of ur fanbase will u held it back? U fancy losing money? Money that r practically guaranteed from the thousands of Kshatriya/Marida fanbois.

QUOTE(orestes @ Jan 4 2014, 04:47 PM)
no such thing as complexity or too technical or difficult for them ... they always have ways to make it ..
*
yes there is always a way to make it, just not now. Alot of factors have to take into account before a design is finalize. There is always a reason why some design was not made despite it being popular/feasible, be it for the business reasons or technical reasons.

haha..
i dont work at bandai , i dont pretend that i know how they run business and if they had difficulties understanding demands from gundam fans .. no pun intended ..

what im saying, if they wanna make a kit, they will make it .. not because i ask them to, not because you ask them to .. but because bandai wants to .. and if bandai want to make a kit of any grade, yes, they have their r&d to figure any possibilities if they should make it or not .. and how they gonna make it .. it's bandai decision, not me, not you .. any problem they be having, is their problem, not you not mine ..

and for im saying, they have ways to make it .. like you explaining to your ownself .. they will take into account before finalize anything ..

so here, i didnt say i work for bandai .. i didnt ask them to make any kit that i want ... i dont pretend that i know their problems or if i should ask them how to run their business ...

any grade of any gundam is possible...? yes, it's always possible .. they made hg kshatriya, mg who knows, maybe in future.. is possible ..

i dont see them having problem making 1 .. probably bandai dont feel like it.. ? like gen_nic said, bandai had thought of the project and cancel or probably delay .. that's bandai decision there ..

my comment was not to demand anything .. im saying, there's a possibility .. and anything, is bandai's choices .. not me, not you ..

so, why so serious..? sweat.gif
*
and im explaining to u the problem that u didn't see. The business problem and technical problem, not a feel problem. I kno u don work at Bandai, i dont either, none of us do. But that doesnt mean we cant think critically and analyse Bandai business strategy, on why some r realistic and some completely ridiculous.

the previous quote that u made seems to put Bandai on a pedestal, thinking that they can and will do everything, thinking that eventually everything will be made just because it exist. Thinking that they actually is withholding a particular design just because they feel like it. U seems to hav big expectation, an expectation that will never be realize and ultimately setting up a major disappointment that will leave a sour taste in ur mouth. Im injecting reality, to lower down ur expectation on Bandai so that u dont crash and burn leaving u dejected and ultimately walk away from the hobby. And this extends to alot of gunpla fans, alot of them have such thinking, i dont blame them but such unrealistic expectation only brew further discontent and degenerate into constant whining and b****ing. How many have u seen fans constantly asking for such and such kit years after years the same fans demanding the same kits and eventually they got so piss off and walk away.

aiyaa... im not putting expectations or hope or anything for this gundam kit thing .. why you assume so much? sweat.gif
if they make 1, good for you ... if not, pls dont rage ..
why is my mouth sour? sweat.gif hardly i will be disappointed .. i think you mistaken me of a gundam fanatic? sweat.gif
iskk... do i know you bro?
*
im not saying ur mouth is sour. im saying u r setting up urself for disappointment and eventually leave a sour taste in ur mouth.

while it may or may not hold true to u, but ur post suggest otherwise. U urself may not be a fanatic, but there r such ppl lurking and/or posting. U may not be disappointed, but ur post gives such ppl hope. U r setting up their disappointment. There r tons of fans who begin with such expectation, who truly think that in due time everything will be made and every kit that u dream off will be true. It all starts from having an unrealistic expectation. Such fans ultimately turn into whiners after years and years of constant disappointment, got piss off and leave the hobby, and in doing so scaring new ppl away.

Just look at gundamguy blot post or youtube post. How many of them r whining and complaining "Where is my xxx kits", "Screw u bandai, giv me my xxx kits", "u suck bandai hu the hell cares for xxx kits, i want yyy kits", "im not paying bandai a single cent if tey don make zzz kits".

All im doing is to give reason to why such thinking is unrealistic, give reason as to why such and such kits will/wont be made. Tone down ppl expectations inject reality and induce crtical thinking. i donwan this place to degenerate into such a cesspool

speaking of Gundamguy, I'm still laughing my ass off about those who complained about Wing Proto Zero, they want a true to original design Wing Zero TV
*
yes exactly, which stems from years and years of fan wanting something but end up being a redesign instead. Crashing down their hopes and dreams, disappointed that their beloved kits are not made with the design that they had in mind, thinking that Bandai will fulfill their wishes after hoping and expecting it for so many years. Culminating in ppl throwing expletive, labeling katoki with all kinds of names. They r blinded by the fact that the time has past, wing has been dead for 10 + years now. If it werent for glory of the loser manga, no other wing kits will ever be made. Instead of be grateful that they hav even a model that represent their favorite suits, they go out of their way to berated it, constantly whining and crying.

lowyat modelling thread has been constructive, realistic, full of ppl with critical thinking and r able to comprehend the nature of the business. We keep it civil by being smart and juggling our expectation well, so lets keep it that way shall we.

u r not the only 1. Unfortunately those that r very vocal r those same bunch of ppl that will nvr be satisfy unless it is up to their unrealistic expectation. If u haven notice, those that says it being good or even better then original on gundamguy or youtube or someplace else r constantly berated by these very bunch of ppl.

yes, krylon is a cheap alternative.

u wan even cheaper then that, invest in an airbrush and use clear flat. Far easier to control, less imperfection, less wastage.

i'm all for ver Ka release.. all of them so far have been very impressive.. fingers crossed for Xi.. as impossible as it may be laugh.gif but the SD gave me new hope
*
allow me to crush ur dreams.

no, its not popular enough. Even when a design is popular(eg. various endless waltz design) it doesn't guarantee a kit, let alone something that is obscure, never been animated b4, from a novel based on an alternate telling of CCA virtually guaranteeing it to be non-canon as it stand, featuring a wimp crybaby terrorist as its pilot that has fallen so far away from his heroic father, and also despite it being the protagonist suit it is ultimately a villain suit.

if it takes popular design like wing, a new currently running manga for Bandai to finally releases the rest of the wing boys, what do u think r the chances of Xi that in addition to the above statement has no appearance in current media to push its sales. Sure Bandai can market its SD, but thats cuz its small, require very little mold and small investment in R&D. The investment risk involve in SD is far less then MG not to mention take into factor of final epi unicorn milking, build fighter, 3.0 milking, RG line expansion, etc etc and u r staring at virtually 0% chance.

erm guys, any recommendation of action base for Sazabi? I'm considering the belows:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Not sure if they will come out with something exclusive for Sazabi..  hmm.gif  (Consider they already have one for Nu Gundam er.ka)
*
if u really wan 1, avoid flashy base. Sazabi is extremely heavy, flashy base has less contact surfaces, add this 2 factor n u will have an unstable base.

consider the fact that nu's 1 is exactly the same as the hi-nu's, bandai did not design 1 specially for ver ka they just took it from existing design. Using nu as an example for sazabi is fallible argument. Think about it, if u r bandai it is to ur benefit to lump all design process together to save time and save resources. If sazabi were to have a custom base, it would have been design at the same time as sazabi itself and be included in the package, which leads to bumping up the price and more profit coming to bandai. Another 1000yen per box, ppl hu r willing to fork out 9000yen wouldnt give a bats eye to another 1000yen. But if u split it up ur profit margin will be lower. New packaging, new instruction manual, shipping cost, warehouse cost, etc etc on what is otherwise be shared with sazabi itself, couple with the fact that some really dont wan a base due to spacing issues, meaning less ppl would have fork out that 1000yen compare to if it were to be included with the kit itself. Its bad business strategy which is why u see all custom bases comes together with its kit, unless the custom bases r generic for a particular faction (aka the zeon's, the fed and the celestial beings ones). In summary, no not gonna happen. What makes u think there will be 1 anyway? sazabi were not marketed to hav 1 in the 1st place, when it was debuted at hobby shows it was not featured at all. In the off chances bandai wanted to go that way, considering the less then ideal profit margin, bandai will go to p-bandai route.

i notice everytime theadmiral reply, he always mention about bandai's profits.. such a concern guy sweat.gif

so like nazrul say, will there be mg beargguy? good for bandai?
*
im just stating business sense, bandai is a multi billion dollar corporation whose main goal is to get profit. Why on earth would they do something that would lead them to lower profit margin? Some1 ask/wonder/ponder/hope/dream on something, i merely provide an answer from a business perspective, is that wrong? Im just being a realist.

which beargguy r u talking about here 1st? beargguy san or just regular beargguy? Regular beargguy has long pass its due, HOWEVER with beargguy san being 1. popular, 2. currently running show, 3. reuse mold, it make business sense to release san. And with the help of beargguy san, regular beargguy might stand a chance by riding its coat tails. On its own, regular beargguy chances r abysmal.

well thats certainly not me, im all in for new sazabi for as far as i can remember, when at that time 2.0 was all the rage sazabi and nu were among the top favorites to get a redesign and for good reasons too. Extremely popular, tons of zeon fanbois all over japan, old 1.0 proportion issue, a sure big seller, its a no brainier really. To be honest I nvr expected it take this long for new sazabi and nu, granted the version that we eventually got is far better then what a 2.0 could have achieved.

then dip more lacquer thinner, but make sure u wipe it off as soon as possible. It wont come off in 1 go if it has already dried, just keep rubbing and it'll come off eventually.

So technically no point for me to bring it in and do it for sale here then?
*
if u wan to do sales, u nid to bring in bulk to make it a viable business. The bigger ur volume the lower ur price per kit is, sell each with regular retail price (aka the yen price convert to rm) and use the difference to offset ur custom/agent/transportation/etc and the balance from that is ur profit. If u plan to just bring in only 5 or 10 kit dont bother, at the very least the bulk order has to be in 100's to be viable.

not to say there is not point, u just nid alot money to start buying in bulk and take on the risk of over stocking in ur pursuit of lower price per kit to maximize ur profit.

if lets say bringing in about 500-1k sets?
so main thing is if i can get cheap shipping, and steer clear of customs, there is a higher possiblity of making money then?
*
buying bulk u cant escape from custom, unless u know someone or u under table. But yes, the main profit mechanism comes from getting the best price per kit in ur bulk deal, thats where u can earn more from the sales of each kit. The rest r just extra fees and taxes to be deducted from ur sales as gross profit, so if can avoid those even better but there is no way of avoiding it (legally anyway). 500 - 1000 is good, but also take into account diff distributor hav diff rates so not necessary such volume will giv u the best deal. Also dont be too greedy sure u may get better price per kit but if u order too much volume u may not b able to clear ur stock fast enough, end up u suffer losses due to over stocking.
